  1. I always keep Dentemp on hand for use while traveling and at home. At home I’ve lost part of a filling and broken a tooth and each time was on a weekend. The Dentemp worked each time to fill the hole until Monday. Showed it to my dentist and he was impressed with the compound. Said it’s made from some of the stuff that was used years ago for fillings.
  2. HAL was offering 24 hr pricing on the Eurodam but depending on how often you plan to access it may be better to go with the package. But the way HAL has been operating lately, what is offered on one ship may not be offered on another ship. When I did a trans-Atlantic last October I waited several days to pick up the package as the price drops each day.
  3. I was surprised that none of this happened on the Eurodam Panama Canal cruise. Shore excursions were, comparatively, quite loose. No meeting at the World Stage. No stickers. Every excursion said to meet on the pier. Once at the pier the excursion leaders were there with their little signs and gathered their groups together. The buses were at the pier waiting or a short walk away. Once our phones or keycards were scanned we were off.
  4. I do bring my own tea bags and Heinz ketchup packets so maybe I’ll have to add butter to my list. If this keeps up I’ll need a carryon for condiments. As far as walking through the Lido, I agree that adding the 2 person tables severely cut down on walking space. What I started doing was cutting through the carpeted area with the tables. It was like being in an HOV lane. The other thing I didn’t get on our cruise last week was the complete lack of salt/pepper shakers on the tables on the Sea View Pool area during meal times. We were in the Caribbean, why wouldn’t they expect that people would want to eat outside? I asked one steward about it and his response was “They are inside” 🙄
  5. I just got off the Eurodam and the Lido at busy times was a nightmare. One would think those people hadn’t eaten in weeks or it was going to be their last meal. Pushing, elbowing, and line cutting was a daily occurrence. The only line that was somewhat organized was the omelet station where there were two lines from either side meeting at the two omelet makers. It would also help if the 8x10 menu option boards that are placed on top of the counters were printed in a bigger font. That would eliminate the people stopping in the middle of the aisle to lean in to read what’s available. It was also tiring to try to get the employees to cut loose some butter. They acted like each piece given out would be deducted from their pay.
  6. Just got off Eurodam on Tuesday. Deck 2 is like a meat locker. Deck 3 somewhat better. I ended up wearing a jacket every time I knew I was going to spend extended time on deck 2 which because of BBKing’s, Billboard Onboard, Casino, Bingo, and Trivia was a good deal of time.
  7. I just got off the Eurodam on Tuesday. There were many complaints about how the Navigator app was not working properly. Example…marked in My Itinerary 4:30p Trivia. Navigator sent me a reminder at 7:30p that 4:30p Trivia was about to start. This happened for everything I added to my itinerary and from talking with others I wasn’t the only one this was happening to. Then I kept getting notices that I had messages but when I checked there were only the old messages in the Chat area. All of this was, of course, when I could get anything to work in my cabin, 4062, on my phone. iPad would work fine in cabin but not phone. I wasn’t alone with this either. Even had someone from Guest Services come to cabin. She couldn’t get phone to work either.
  8. Just started reading this thread so if someone has already responded I apologize. Anyhow, if you haven’t booked your flights yet there is a bus that runs twice a day from Vancouver near the cruise terminal to SEATAC. It’s a five hour ride and the cost for the later bus is $50. Then you don’t need to test at all.
  9. Loved your pictures! They are positively gorgeous. I’m going to be doing a HAL Land/Sea in early June. Denali, Whitehorse, Dawson, and then to ship, Skagway to Vancouver. The plan is to take my two camera bodies, Canon T6i and T2i. On the T2i I plan to us my EFS 18-55mm lens. The T6i is where I’m not sure which lens would be best for Alaska. I have an EF 100-400mm and an EF 75-300mm. I also have a monopod that I’m planning on taking along. I just not sure if there will be enough situations that will warrant taking that heavy 400. I have a good camera with my phone, Samsung S10e, which takes great pics that I use around the ship.
  10. Need input from experienced camera buffs. Doing HAL Land/Sea in early June. Denali, Whitehorse, Dawson, and then to ship, Skagway to Vancouver. I was wondering what camera lens you have taken with you. I have an EF 100-400mm, an EF 75-300mm, and an EFS 18-55mm. Not sure about which long lens and do I need the 18-55 if I have a good camera with my phone, Samsung S10e, which takes great pics. Thanks in advance.
