Grilled pizza! The first time I did this, I was worried that the crust would fold up, slither through the grates and make a huge mess, but it works. Whether the crust is homemade or bought doesn’t make a difference, but if it’s homemade, a brief grill before putting on toppings is better.

It’s -33 C here...let’s see,  that’s -27 F.

I think I know what you mean. I am concerned about Sunshine and her husband, although I’ve never met them, and was happy that Graham’s surgery went well.
 

Since I rarely post (I’ve had a stroke, and don’t always express myself in the way that I want), any expressions of condolence or just “thinking of you” might read as awkward. And that sounds awkward as well!
 

It’s about to get very cold here- Saturday it will warm up to -27 C (about -17 F). Sunday will be colder. Those are the highs! We just had a barbecue delivered, but it will wait for spring.

I would stay at the Delta with a west view, and you could see the train headlight at night off in the distance. 30 minutes later it would roll into the rail yard. I love the gas street lights near the Albert Memorial Bridge and the legislative park has wonderful grounds.  I also ate a few meals at the Keg too. Little known fact about Regina, it was the home of Dick Assman of the David Letterman fame from the mid 90s. Yes, that’s his real name. He was thrust to fame, similar to Dildo Newfoundland by Jimmy Kimmel. 

We moved from Ottawa, but we were military and moved quite a lot. Most of our moves were in Ontario. We’re from BC originally, but that was some time ago!

I’ve never lived on the Prairies before, and I like it, although it tends to snow sideways. Still, every landscape has something to recommend it. There’s is lot to do here, and we’re looking forward to exploring, especially around the legislature.

When we moved to Regina in September, the movers broke a side rail on our bed. Luckily, the company can make another one, but we are still waiting. Apparently it should be here next month.

As far as renovations go- we are getting a new main bathroom because the bathtub leaks, as we discovered when a damp spot appeared in the powder room below! It’s the original 30 year old bathroom, so it was something that we wanted to do anyway. 
 

The only people I’ve met in this city so far are gas fitters, plumbers and electricians. But they are very nice! Well, and a few neighbours, distantly. 😷
 

Is anyone learning another language? I just finished Duolingo’s Italian lessons, and I’m refreshing myself in French.

Lurker here...I would post more, but my life is really boring right now!

 I am blessed to have some members of my family here- both my brother and oldest son, who live alone, are here. We have been isolating.  My other kids,  who had planned to come from Ontario, have not. We will have a Zoom call this evening.

Getting a cat into a straight jacket sounds interesting. I wouldn’t try it!

Cats are more or less self cleaning. I once had to bathe my cat after an unfortunate encounter with a skunk, but he was a bit shocky and let himself be washed. Luckily, it was a very young skunk!

It’s a strange Remembrance Day. This is my husband’s first one out of uniform, after 43 years service (he joined at 16). He was in Afghanistan.

We booked Barcelona to Amsterdam as a follow-on to the Dubai to Barcelona cruise. We will probably cancel it, as the Suez Canal was the real attraction. We had cabin 1100. Weep.

Disney fast passes are free. You can book 3 of them .  There are some restrictions; they are divided into Tier One (headliner rides;  you get one of these) and Tier 2 (2 of these).  They are available 30 days in advance of the park visit. Once you have used your fast passes, you can book more, depending on availability. You need to download the Disney app, pay for your ticket and then you can book.

Check the Italy posts, it’s a common topic there.

However, Albergo Abruzzi, which is in the same piazza as the Pantheon, is as central as you can get, and was excellent.

I did the Jewel out of Rome in September. Menus were pretty much the same. One son is a foodie, and he had no complaints about the the main dining room. Dress was slightly more formal, but even on formal nights, it wasn’t over the top. I don’t recall shorts in the dining room at dinner. Short dresses and long pants/ button up shirts with or without jackets is what I remember.  As for activities, we were with family, and I realized that we hadn’t gone to a single event! As Bob said, it’s pretty port intensive.

it you haven’t been to Rome, it’s a wonderful city! It was the best family holiday we have ever taken. Enjoy!

Thanks fo posting this, Skrapngal. Until responses started to come in, I had assumed that a noon flight would be fine; now we are considering an overnight stay, just to be safe.

It’s actually the 23rd. 

I am starting to look at this too. I thought I might try Air2Sea.

There is another hotel besides Albergo del Senato with a view of the Pantheon- Albergo Abruzzi. It’s a bit cheaper. There is no restaurant, but breakfast can be arranged through vouchers with a restaurant on the same square. The staff are excellent.

My room looked right at the Pantheon. It was on the first floor, but with the windows closed, we slept very well.
