  1. We ALWAYS chose the Earliest boarding time. For Years. Totally chaotic. Hubs would get bent. I'd react to his *attitude*. It was NOT good times! Lol fast forward to 2016! It was our 1st time on the Conquest and  I just couldn't get rolling to leave our Daughter & SIL's home from our overnight visit. We literally got to Port Everglades at the ALMOST  last possible  minute. NO Chaos. NO Stress. NO Worries. Ever since then, we're going ALMOST, but not quite the latest we can... As we'll do in almost 22days as we, (with NO craziness nor stress whatsoever;) board The Spirit for 8 Amazingly happy days... Our 25th anniversary cruise! NO Kids/Grands/cruising Pals. Just us! Yeaaay. Okay my book's over😆 TDLR: Definitely choose the latest boarding time...

  2. We always get one at either private island (Half Moon/ Princess) and have never been told that we are required to tip.Lol they will mention that it's appreciated tho... That said, we always have tipped once we're 1st  there, And at the end of the Day before we go back to the ship... We've always had awesome staff at both islands... Tipping is an "individual" decision, and we've always decided to do it this way. But that's just us.

I am sailing on the Magic to Bermuda on the 23rd, so I can report back here with an update. Past October crises have included kids trick or treating, adult and children's costume parties, and other activities like Thriller dance lesson classes and such. They also decorate parts of the ship and provide Halloween themed backdrops for the photographers.

We are also on the Magical Magic

the 23rd to  Bermuda. Yeaay!  We've  never been. We've been on 4 Halloween cruises tho, on the actual date. I didn't know they put on events the week  before. Since we get back to Norfolk the 29th,  I hope they maybe do. Lol, it's just an added bonus to a truly Magical  Cruise!

I guess I haven't heard those reviews.  I wouldn't doubt my sailing on Aug 11 is going to be a disaster.  Only 4 days long, out of NY and school still out.

A cruise is what you make it,for the most part. At least it is for us. 31 cruises to date and Neither of us have ever felt as though we'd had a bad cruise. Lol, quite a few înteresting ones though. We just are thankful to be so Blessed as to be able to take off and sail away.  We never let things bother us to the point of ever even considering a  cruise a bad one, much less a disastrous one. That said,  We've never gone on a "Booze Cruise" either,   nor will we, thanks to the great advice And warnings we've gotten here over the years re: 3/4day voyages.  Apparently many of them do get quite out of hand. I'm sure Many also don't... I wish Only the best for you on your upcoming voyage. Try and  be positive  that you'll have a great time! 👍

Don't hold your breath for the Wagyu... 3 sailings so far this year and all 3 was told it wasn't available.  I think they aren't buying it to save $$$  May be phasing it out too, not sure.

    Oh my gosh 😢

We have had it multiple times over the last few years and it's ahhhmazing! Cruising is the only time we get it, lol it's nonexistent anywhere near our tiny town... I sure do hope it's just a pause on it rn! As long as the pause is over by October when we sail to the Mystical Magical place called Bermuda...

I am glad to hear you enjoyed Sunshine. We will be on her in June. Why did you have to switch out Half Moon Cay for Bimini?  Was it weather related?  I really hope we get to go to Half Moon Cay. It is heaven on earth.

We love her, Sunshine 🌞 is definitely a top ship for us for shorter cruises. I'm thinking it couldn't be because of the weather,  we were notified almost 2 weeks before sail date which was 2/19. Someone else on at that time might know, but we never even actually asked. No worries,  it was an awesome as usual cruise just as I know yours will be too, should you get switched. I'll keep my fingers crossed that y'all get to go to HMC🤗

We sailed on the Harmony of the Seas in January and it wasn’t even a question. Our room was serviced twice a day. We also never had a bacon shortage.

I could swear it says "Carnival Cruise Line" up top🤔... I'm certain it does NOT say "C'mon y'all let's compare and wax poetically over any other line that I deem to be better"😂

It's like Twit or FB a lot nowadays. No Bueno. Oh well, I've still got my Carnival Sunshine 🌞 post-Cruise glow to toughen my feels up! 😆

I hope the No Crowds / 70% capacity can hold on for a few more days. I board her on Monday!

My Thanksgiving cruise on Freedom last year was almost eerie in how empty it was sometimes. Never having to wait for an elevator on a holiday cruise was amazing. I don't expect it again.

Yeaaay! I'll do THE Keep The Count to 70% dance tonight! Lol I've been doing it since we got off Sunshine yesterday anyway for our Feb Cruise!😉

The ones I just got last week have expiration date of 12/28/22

Ours we got for the cruise we just got off of yesterday were all 12/28/22exp. I'm hoping that they'll still be good, thru an extension Hopefully for our Bermuda one in February tho!😊

Actually I'd be happier than a pig in mud IF all this was over by then! Haha a girl can dream!!!

  10. We just got off The Sunshine yesterday. Hated to leave her! Idk where the "dirty" comes from? Or the sewage smell? Or the not good Food? Or anything else... Seriously, It sounds like we were on 2 different Ships. Our cabin #9115 was immaculate after every time our Steward cleaned/straightened up. Same with the balcony. Actually even better taken care of since our last cruise 8/20 when the  C- word stopped us from sailing until 2/22. We weren't too excited over the Lido buffet, but the MDR service AND food were pretty good to us... I'm sorry y'all had such a dismal experience on her, especially b/c we had an absolute blast. The ONLY thing I semi-whined about. Lol Actually both of us, to each other, was having our favorite Bahamas time on Half Moon Cay switched out for Bimini. Eh stuff happens. It was Amazing sailing at only 70% capacity! Yeah to NO Crowds! Haha, it sure spoiled me😁

Carnival Cruise Line confirmed that it will participate in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) updated program for cruise ships operating in U.S. waters, and is advising guests of the following changes:

Effective with cruises departing Mar. 1, masks on board will be recommended but not required. There may, however, be certain venues and events where masks will be required.

    • Carnival will continue to meet the standard of vaccinated cruises, but children under five years old will not be included in any vaccinated guest calculation, and thus will not be required to receive an exemption to sail.

    • Effective with cruises departing Mar. 1, some additional flexibility in pre-cruise testing requirements will become available. Please visit the Carnival Have Fun. Be Safe. web page for more information.

10-10:30 is your arrival time, not check-in time. They've definitely improved wait times in Charleston in recent years, but I'd still be sure to pack some patience. The Sunshine holds at least 1000 more people than their facility was designed to accommodate.

Yes an expansion is sorely needed. Lol I've been saying that since our lovely Ecstasy was there! We love the Sunshine too and B.C sailed on her around 4-5x a year. And Ecstasy still while she's been in Jax & Daughter#2 & sil live there. Otherwise mostly Breeze, Hubs Fav.

It's on the Cruise Terminal's website, it's right at the corner of Concord St. and Laurens St. We come in down Bay Street off of I-26, turn left onto Calhoun, right onto Concord, and the entrance is one block straight ahead.

Also in the past the parking lot would open at around 9AM for folks to drop off luggage, but nobody could actually start parking until people from the last cruise had all left which is usually right around 10AM. The terminal isn't big enough for them to do it any other way.

I sure do hope that's changed b/c we've got a 10am check-in. That'd make us late. Lol one positive of it is my Sweet Hubs couldn't say it was b/c of me that we're late checking in, THIS Time anyway😂

I am seeing our OBC.....but when I go to purchase Cheers and Transfers, it wants a credit card.....are these items not available for purchase with the OBC ahead of time?

Not available until  March 15th  I believe.  Haha I tried my darndest to  figure out Why it wouldn't work for our 2\19 sailing. Our PVP explained it to me.😅

I had issues with the App on a Samsung phone right after the initial upgrade to Android 12, but later updates fixed that.

Lol, as soon as I read that, I immediately checked both our phones!(Including pulling his out of his hand!) Whew, we've got the latest version of 12s updates.

😁Yeah yeah I'm the Worrying Wife, my beloved Hubs is Mr Calm. Ying Yang ☯️... It's worked for over 33yrs tho.

Totally agree that there are not many (I cannot remember any ship) that has 2 tops next to windows.  There is a reason for that.

I agree with the both of you. Exception: In 2016 on the Beautiful Conquest on a Southern Caribbean cruise for our 27th anniversary, we did sit at a table for 2only & it was indeed right next to the window,  and no @BlerkOne I did not check my makeup one single time😁! I believe it was downstairs table #301, but I'll have to find the picture tomorrow. It's late and I'm quite tired after the glitchy check-in for our Sunshine in 15 days. Yeaaay! I believe I'll just lurk around here until I fall asleep...

We never travel without these. The Carnival towels are huge and 2 towels take up an entire beach bag. These microfiber towels are the best, light weight, take up the space of a washcloth, and dry very quickly.

Do you have the XL or XXL?

We're going to order them now, even though our next cruise isn't until Feb.

I just looked them up and there's many highly rated reviews. Lol, I'm tired of lugging ours everytime. They take almost 3/4 of my carry-on.

Have you sailed on any of the other Conquest class ships?  So far the Freedom is my favorite but honestly, they are all very much to our liking and essentially the same with minor differences .  We're doing Glory for the first time this winter.

Liberty and Freedom once each... Yes I agree they are pretty much the same. Lol probably why we liked them so much. But honestly our hearts are with Conquest for many reasons, the biggest being that we go on her each year for our anniversary cruise. Alone!😉 It's the ONLY time that we're anywhere by ourselves nowadays. Kids, Grands, and other assorted Family are what we're with everytime we get to get away... I know you will have an awesome time on the Glory this winter! Our neighbors were on her a couple yrs ago for their first cruise and loved it!
