  1. Jonny O’Keefe, Lyle. Huge rock singer from late 50s, early 60s. Had his own rock tv show back in the day. Troubled soul, as is his brilliant, but also troubled nephew, Andrew. Andrew’s father and JOK’s brother, Barry, was an esteemed Senior Counsel and Judge. He was dubbed “The Mild One”.
  2. JOK was a little before my time, but always loved his music. It was always playing before “my time”, which like you was early 60s! Then, of course we only listened to The Deltones, The Beach Boys, and yes, The Atlantics. Think Bronte, Bondi, Coogee surf clubs, and we hung out at all the “stomps”, decked in the uniform: denim skirts, gingham shirts, duffle coats, rope handled basket bags, and sneakers (desert boots for boys). My kids fall about in hysterics at some of my old photos😂.
  3. Julie, I’ve only just discovered this wonderful travel blog. Such beautiful images and vivid description. I just love the gardens and their colours and form in Japan. Thank you for such generosity in sharing. I have to confess that Singapore Air BC is my favourite of all, and I actually don’t find the flat beds too hard, although I’ve read quite a few reviews of folks who agree with you. The food and service is always superb. We did Cathay BC last year, and in 2019 before Covid, because the price was so very much better, but going through Honkers is a nightmare these days. And the flight experience, though very comfortable, wasn’t a patch on SA. Looking forward to more trip notes and pics🙏🏻
  4. Port Lincoln? (Yummy King George whiting😋)
  5. I have no idea why that posted twice🤷🏻‍♀️
  6. We were actually staying there because our son was in St Vincent’s Hospital at the time. I virtually lived on Sydney’s eastern beaches as a teen, but now we tend to stay dight in the city if we’re visiting Sydney, or at an airport hotel if we’re travelling.
  7. Gosh, this image reminds me of my beloved grandfather pumping Mortein frequently, in a vain attempt to eradicate Hawkesbury River mosquitoes, that to my young mind, resembled helicopters. It’s a miracle we all survived.
  8. We have stayed in their Bondi Junction property and found it central and comfortable.
  9. The cleaning operation was actually abandoned. The sub-surface currents were apparently too strong, and the divers’ safety could not be assured. Many aboard were sceptical, and suspected that the operation was perhaps more for show. That, together with the email we received very close to boarding announcing that we wouldn’t be sailing around the tip of the South Island to Dunedin. The next cruise was still advertising the original itinerary.
  10. Well you kept showing that same one of them, enjoying a tipple with their friends.
  11. I think Mic’s scheming something up
  12. I’m pretty sure the Pologate poster is American🤫
  13. Clue clarification: “loched” is meant to identify the general area of the world. This town is on a buteful island
  14. Hope this image doesn’t incur wrath, say what?
