Favourite foods...
This jar of mint sauce was produced by the Maître D on Celebrity Constellation after we explained that the 'day-glow' mint jelly beloved by our US friends and the extremely watery mint sauce preferred by our Australian friends were poor substitutes for the 'real' thing when having the lamb shanks. Apparently, he raided the crew stores to find it. We wrote a lovely commendation for him!!!!!
Surprisingly, we loved the food on MSC Armonia as we had been given dire warnings about the quality

This thread is proving to be just as entertaining as the other 2 although I have really had to search hard for suitable posts. it is so nice to see pictures of the posters and like Indiana, I also have the sort of middle and other bits that don't lend themselves to dresses....hahaha!
Anyway, here are my Es....
My Elite status welcome rose on Celebrity. We have been cruising regularly since 1992 so have built up quite a lot of loyalty points with a variety of cruise lines.
Elite mini-bar sett-up on Emerald Princess
Explorer of the Seas
Evening entertainment on our Mekong cruise on La Marguerite
and lastly, the MV Princess Panhwar ear phones for the radio sets that we used to hear our guides while on shore in Myanmar

It was just lucky that I happened to be sitting by the window facing upstream and had noticed the cargo ship. These ships are fascinating because they carry such a variety of goods and people so I was trying to see what its cargo actually was. It was then that I noticed that the ship appeared to be overtaking us but wasn’t actually moving in a parallel line. It came towards us very quickly and I reacted as anyone else would have done so no heroics!
These ships are like landing craft and have a metal plate at the front that can be lowered onto the river bank. There is a thick metal pole that extends out at each side of the plate and it was the pole that came through the window.
Our captain told us that he believed the cargo ship captain had fallen asleep at the wheel.- 1

Thank you for your comments.
It all happened so quickly that people did leave their wine and, of course, everywhere was covered in glass shards so what was left wasn’t drinkable. Fortunately, the ship was AI so there was more wine available although several people had a stiff brandy instead!!
I have to say that everyone involved acted extremely well. There was no panic, the crew members in the restaurant reacted very quickly to reassure everyone and nobody made a big fuss. There were no demands for compensation and everyone was determined to enjoy the last days of an absolutely fabulous cruise.
The ship, which was owned by Australian Pacific Touring (APT), was brand new and only on its 3rd sailing. One of the APT directors flew straight out to Mandalay to oversee the repairs and he made sure that the passengers had a great last day. I would do the whole cruise again in a heartbeat.....it was stunning.- 3

C is for CRASH!!
We were having lunch on board the Princess Panhwar river cruise ship as we sailed along the Irrawaddy River in Myanmar when I noticed one of the local cargo boats was getting closer to to the ship. As I watched I could see that it was heading directly towards us so I shouted a warning and all the diners by the windows managed to scramble away just before we were hit! Fortunately, no one was badly hurt although one lady got cut by flying glass.
The captain pulled alongside the river bank where there was a river police booth and the next thing we saw was our captain and several officers in a small boat chasing the cargo boat. The cargo boat captain was arrested and led away in handcuffs.
As it was the last full day of our cruise, we were able to stay on board while repairs were being made in Mandalay but the people who should have boarded for the next cruise were put up in a hotel until the ship was ready.
It was quite scary at the time!!!

Hi Damian and all posters, I don’t take a lot of pictures on board so this is quite a challenge but I’ll do my best. We have a few pictures of birds that have hitched a lift but not many. I’ll get Jim working on it.
