  1. Headed back to the ship. Passing through the University. Honolulu is both beautiful and culturally rich.
  2. As we headed back to the ship we passed the Royal Palace of King Kamehameha. King Kamehameha I, also known as Kamehameha the Great, is the nephew of Kalani‘opu‘u, the former king of the Big Island of Hawai‘i and part of Maui. For the first time, Kamehameha brings all of the Hawaiian Islands into one kingdom when King Kaumuali‘i cedes the island of Kaua‘i to his rule.
  3. We next crossed the street and explored the very vibrant Financial District. Iain had been there before on business but couldn't remember where Bank of America had it's offices.
  4. Today we took off to visit Aloha Tower and piers. It has been nicely developed.
  5. I’ll have to ask. He first went out and came back with a spice mix on the rim. What I remember there was lime, toquilla, orange Cointreau.
  6. Hope you enjoy it. By the way the HDMI ports are really easy to both see and connect to. In the room video I zoomed in on the port... other's probably thought what in the world is he doing...
  7. NCL - Pride of America didn't stick around very long. Around 10 we heard the ships horn and she departed. Inquiring minds wanted to know WHY. Found an article that she had a mechanical issue and had to cut short her current inter-island cruise. Since Terminal 11 was to be used by MSC Explora 1 she had to move to Pearl Harbor. She was replaced by Explora at 11 AM MSC Explora is now in place at Terminal 11.
  8. After all these years this is the first time I ever used the Sofa Bed. Usually just scrunched up on the Sofa. I had the room attendant bring a blanket. This time I discovered how the sofa's convert. Actually very practical. You pull the back of sofa toward you and it becomes the legs --- Inside mine was already made up with duvet, sheets and two pillows. IN the CS it is the sofa portion facing the windows and almost come to a queen and a half in width. For some reason the one in the CS is much more comfortable than that in the Royal.
  9. Would have to agree with tubs. When I remodeled our house i removed the tubs and did oversized walk in showers instead. I can't tell you when I last took a bath. I know many love them... We are on the Aft Slant --- they also have them on the forward slant, but thought the aft would have some protection from the wind. I put on my Bose Headphones this morning and listened to the home news while relaxing in the lounger. I often pair them to the TV so I don't wake Iain when I'm up early.
  10. I may post some food pictures on this cruise. After HILO we have 5 sea days.
  11. The shopping center has just about anything form everyone tastes...
  12. The beds are either configured as a Queen or as two singles. They are configured to a Queen upon arrival but the Stateroom attendant can set them up as requested. The CS also has a Queen Sofa bed in living room. I sometimes pop the living room bed open when Iain snores.
  13. Noticed that NCL is in today using Pier 11. Hope you get Terminal 2. Beautiful terminal.
  14. Our new room overlooks the Harbor and Aloha Tower looks totally different during the day. NCL is in at Pier 11
  15. Awoke to another beautiful day in Hawaiian Paradise. There is something special about Hawaii that is impossible to explain. Not sure what we are going to do for day 3 in Honolulu. Need to Google a bit as I've been instructed to figure out what we are doing today.... Sir --- Yes Sir!
  16. For this cruise we moved from our Beautiful Royal Suite to a Celebrity Suite. I always try to take pictures before we unpack so the room look bright and uncluttered... OK... just ask Iain I never put things away. Here's Celebrity Suite 1615 --- Famous for the Hump slanted balcony that is about 50% larger than the others.
  17. Mike -- perfect understanding. I really enjoy hearing from others on any topic. It get's pretty boring on my side when everyone is just reading along and no one talking. It's more fun when someone comes up to me and says --- Hi Jim and I look at them like a deer in headlights trying to figure out who they are... I'll admit I terrible with names until I say it a couple times. I also like my Live Posts to be safe comfortable place. So many users write me privately and say they never post because every time they do they get beat up or insulted.
  18. I posted a couple short videos on my FB page. One was of Singh, the bartender in Michael's Club, making spicy drink for Andy. It was a lot of fun.
  19. We next had to visit the Royal Hawaiian. So many fond memories. My best friend worked there as Head Waiter for decades. We use to go there almost every night after work along with Marie, out matriarch who we adopted. We also had friends who performed 'ukelele and Hula at the Mai Tai Bar every night. Unfortunately they are all now gone. They may be gone but will always be there in my memories.
  20. Iain was worn out after our 10 mile marathon walk. It is about 2x his normal walk so is taking a nap. I've spent my time getting my electronics set up. It has been really easy as the TV's on non-revolutionized ships have easily accessible HDMI ports. Took less than 5 minutes. I still have to do the Bedroom TV once Iain gets up. Not sure how well he will nap as they keep coming on the PA with reminders to complete the Safety Muster CheckIn. Really not sure why as I overnight in HNL again tonight.
