Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on the original “Love Boat”, the Pacific Princess in its last year before being sold. Did 7 night NY to Bermuda…..it was the best cruise we’ve ever taken, and not because we were able to get all the way in to St George and Hamilton. It was because of the vibe on the ship and only 680 guests, we were like one big family! And the food was amazing! But that was many years ago. Very good times we had.
  2. We were on Odyssey last year for 27 days for a B2B HolyLand / TA and we each brought ONLY a carryon and backpack. We also spent 3 days prior in Italy. We are D+, so the free bag of laundry each helped with some of the clothes like shorts, workout things, undies and socks, but many of the items we brought - especially all my shirts and my work out clothes - could be washed in the sink and hung to dry in the cabin or on the balcony. I also bought skirts and a couple of lightweight dresses from Ripskirt that I also washed in the sink in the cabin.
  3. We were on Legend to Hawaii back in 2004….. it was our first long cruise (11 nights) and we went with a large group from our neighborhood….. loved that cruise!
  4. I remember seeing a post on FB with pictures of work being done and it appeared to be lots of upgrades. So I’m thinking it looks good enough that we may book a cruise on it!
  5. We don’t eat at chops either anymore. I don’t eat red meat, so I can’t see spending the money, even if we use our BOGO. We prefer a Giovanni’s .
  6. It’s too bad that someone can’t voice their opinion here - even if they feel it’s not a positive one - without others feeling they have to attack that persons opinion. I also feel that the food on Royal isn’t nearly as good as it was years ago, but I havent cruised any other lines in that same time so I can’t compare. Maybe they’ve all changed too. We’ve decided to try other lines now since it looks like Royals focus has changed to the shorter what they advertise as “weekend” cruises. But on the positive side, I haven’t gained any cruise weight in years.
  7. I agree that absolutely Royal’s current target market is young families with kids taking short “weekend” cruises. BUT for those that cruise more than one or two weekends a year, the same cruise with the same destination gets boring and eventually they may want to branch out on different ships that can go places other than Royal’s private islands And possibly those whose children have gotten older, and maybe they have more time, MONEY and availability to cruise, may/will look around to see what else is out there.
  8. Wow, we’ve stayed in suites by t didn’t know that, I’ll remember for next time.
  9. I found that out too, so I always leave them out on the table
  10. I know you all are much more experienced than I am about binoculars. We have a pair that I always take on cruises but they’re not the greatest. We have a few memorable cruises coming up and I want to be able to see nature up close and in focus. So what suggestions do you all have, and what about the single one called monocular? Are they just as good or better? Thanks!
