  1. Possibly the time I tried after restart, there was just a problem in the planner for me….
  2. If you’ll be at Cape Liberty port (I don’t know where you'll dock), I would try to change airlines and stay at Newark. Is that possible? No matter what time of day, theres always so much traffic to get in or out of NY.
  3. I’ll let you know! It looks beautiful and is brand new, so we’re VERY excited! We’ll be on for a 14 nighter to Alaska!
  4. I didn’t know that, or possibly after the shutdown it wasn’t there in the planner but is now…we’re used to early dining now 😁
  5. We still have some a royal cruises, at least one we will most likely cancel on Icon, but we’ve booked on Celebrity and Silversea now…..I guess it’s still in the same circle of RCCL, but hope it’s different and if not we’ll move on too and try Viking Ocean cruises
  6. Back when we were able to make MTD reservations thru the cruise planner, I would book nightly reservations for us and our friends for the same time for every night. So after the first night, after that we had the same table and servers, and just walked in every night past the guards at the desk. So it was very much like main dining and not at all like MTD. I think that was changed post Covid. That’s when we went back to early dining. It was kind of a pain booking it online each night at a time. It would have been much better if instead of first choosing a day, we chose a time, and then just chose the days for that time. But of course, Royals programmers don’t think like a passenger.
  7. That’s been what we’ve seen too. Although we see many coming in at 5:15 and even some coming in at 5:30, but who knows, those may be the MTD folks that were waiting and got the table when the others didn’t show up in time.
  8. THATS EXACTLY WHAT I KEEP SAYING TO MY DH! sorry for all the caps, but I’ve been saying this for months, once all the “loyal” guests cruised right after they resumed sailing and helped them get back on their feet, Fain left and brought in the new guy who wants us gone, I know they’re in the business to make money, but if things go south on his new agenda, many of us that cruise WAY more then for “weekends” once a year, as they’re advertising all the time on TV, we’ll have moved on.
  9. He booked us on a Silversea Silver Nova next year, which is a Royal owned line, and although I haven’t seen all of Ken’s pics or posts yet, I think it’s equivalent (or better) and since it’s still in the a Royal umbrella we can still get Royal stock OBC. We’ll see.
  10. We were a bit concerned about the Dress Code for our Alaskan cruise on Silversea Silver Nova next year, because we’re not fancy dressers….but that ship doesn’t require jackets and ties for men (thank goodness). But, like you he is planning to bring a dress shirt or two.
  11. Go to CK when you board and see what they have available. You may not get the same time every night, or not even get in some nights, if at all. But go when you board, don’t ask in the crown lounge.good luck and enjoy your cruise!
  12. Oh boy, last cruise a young Boy of about 7 came up next to me and grabbed a slice of watermelon from the brand new tray and then put it back and I nicely told him he can’t do that and the dad ran over and started to scream at me telling me I have no right to talk to his child. I didn’t say a word to him. He scared me. Quietly a crew member snuck in and took the whole tray away,. This is an example of why children act the way they do on ships, bad parenting. I truly wish everything in the WJ would be served to us as it was during Covid.
  13. When we did the TA last year on Odyssey, during either the Captains corner or the lunch with officers, Captain Sindre told us hes going to Utopia, so i guess hes the other captain in the rotation and not currently on the schedule that I could see.….Time will tell Hes our other Favorite Captain along with Captain Johnny.
  14. its posts like yours when I wish we had a choice to reply like this 🤮
  15. Now that i have the info needed to report these things to the Higher Ups while on the ship, I definitely will mention this to them, and follow up when we get home. thanks again for sharing your incredible knowledge to us!
  16. I would imagine we would get flagged by Royal if we did something like that, but i for sure would!. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge.
  17. Occasionally the life guards will act if its brought to their attention by a guest. Once MANY MANY years ago we were in the Solarium in the hot tub and a dad came in with a young boy, maybe 4 or 5, and the boy was jumping and diving into the hot tub all the while the dad was smiling. I got out and grabbed the life guard, and he got them to leave. That was way back when we actually went into the hot tub…..havent gone into the pee pool in a VERY long time.
  18. I would do this in a heartbeat, vut I have no clue what USPH or VSP means.
  19. I haven't read all the replies, but I'm sure your questions have been answered. I came here to say that you don't need to spend any extra money for any of the optional things Royal pushes. For example, Coco Cay has many free places to sit all around the island. You can go online and see a map of the area. No need for the extra expense of dining in their fancy restaurants, theres food everywhere around the ship. and since you don't drink alcohol or soda, which is where Royal makes ALOT of money, you’ll have no problem even walking up to a bar and asking for a glass of ice water, of course any food place will have the included beverages. I bring an insulated Contigo so i can fill it up and not have to get up as often and the water stays cold. And they have flavored water and ice tea included too. enjoy your cruise!
  20. @CSHS1979 John's pics are unbelievable! So amazing to have the opportunity to visit these beautiful, breathtaking places!
  21. This just adds to the many reasons were branching out…..sad because we have made Royal cruises feel like family. ☹️
  22. We've been cruising Royal for 25 years and have had many memorable cruises and got to see much of the world. All on Royal ships. But it seems that post Covid, when Fain left ☹️and the new guy came in, their focus changed. They seem to be trying to be more “Carnival Party Ships” now….bring your kids and let them run loose around the ship to cause trouble and buy the drink package and party. And we’ve seen this on multiple ships lately. Kids causing trouble, in groups. I realize we’re older than their “Target Audience” now, and this is not the vacation we want, so were moving on from Royal. Yes, i still have some booked cruises - including Icon - which we booked just to check out the new design, but I may cancel that if this is the way it will be.
  23. I may get flamed for this, but IMO Disney Cruises are a totally different class of guests. Less focus on drinking which encourages this type of behavior. i nope you find a way to enjoy the rest of your cruise
