We were booked on the Holy Land on Odyssey last year. Our cruise was starting October 15….. you know what happened. At such short notice they changed the whole cruise, changed the name of the cruise, took away 3 ports, gave us 4, got excursions online for us to book. It was amazing what they did. Although we never made it to Jerusalem of course, we had a fabulous time in spite of the whole reason for the cruise changed. The changes they made were just as ancient, but maybe not as “holy” as Israel would have been. Have a wonderful time and don’t miss Ephesus!

Changing Status' mid cruise

There’s been talk of celebrity and royal merging some of the loyalty benefits. I’m hoping for the 5 drinks -
Changing Status' mid cruise
lovesthebeach2 replied to Roxxy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Once we hit D+ 340, we still considered thinking about P status, but thenRoyal changed their focus, for us at least, and although we have enough cruises booked to reach 500, we realized P status won’t get us that much more than we need, so we’re now booking Celebrity and plan to look outside of the RCCL bubble. -
RCL food has gone downhill fast
lovesthebeach2 replied to Bullet100's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We’ve noticed that the food can be awful on one ship, and good (but not great) on another. It seems some chefs aren’t good and some are. So, on the ships with lousy food, I mention it in my post cruise comments (as well as mention it while on the ship) and when it’s good I also mention it…..I’m not sure if that helps get rid of the lousy chefs, but it can’t hurt to try. -
First time cruising in Europe

I haven’t read the responses which I’m sure will all be good advice, but I’ll add we always fly in 3 days ahead to acclimate to the time. And pickpockets are everywhere, I have a small belted pouch I keep tucked inside my pants to keep anything valuable from being seen. -
No Laundry? Oh my! Really?

Thats what I do and to add, I although I don’t have a clothes line, I hang them from the ceiling by the air vent which helps them dry faster. -

Silversea also has self serve laundry from what I’ve read on their site. -

It seems each new password works for a week or so, but then it makes me change it again. -

About 30 days before sail date the docs will be available along with luggage tags. -
We were able to get a cappuccino on Radiance in the morning of turnaround day.

Still having Password issues

I’m thinking that’s the issue with my password too. But it’s also Celebrity. It’s never happened until this started with everyone earlier this month. -

It’s not. -
Since we all had the password issues with Royal and Celebrity, I’ve had to change my password once a week. I don’t go in often, so each time I’m having to make a new password! This is on my IPad the web, not the App. Each time I create a new password I Clear my history, thinking maybe that will help. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get this to stop? Again, this is both Royal and Celebrity.

Currently the challenge for me is that I just found out I need a new shoulder….but I have a couple of very special cruises booked that I don’t want to give up, and I can’t see an opening in our cruise schedule anytime soon. Before we both lost our parents, it seems that every time we had a trip booked, one of them was too ill for us to feel comfortable enough to go, or the opposite, our children were having babies! Iknow how hard this is for your wife.

Transatlantic or TransPacific-Spring or Fall
lovesthebeach2 replied to DbPA's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We’ve done multiple crossings from Hawaii to Vancouver, an Eastern TA in the spring and a couple of Western TAs in the fall, as well as an Arctic crossing. Seas can be rough or calm anywhere and anytime. Last October coming back from Rome a couple of days the sea was like glass! And a couple of days it was a bit rocky. Plan to go where you want to go, when you want to go…..for us, we like the fall TAs back to the US from Europe….we would rather gain the extra 6 hours than lose them. In fact we’ll be on Odyssey again in November for the fall TA back to Cape Liberty. -

Legend of the Seas (3rd Icon class ship)

We were on the original “Love Boat”, the Pacific Princess in its last year before being sold. Did 7 night NY to Bermuda…..it was the best cruise we’ve ever taken, and not because we were able to get all the way in to St George and Hamilton. It was because of the vibe on the ship and only 680 guests, we were like one big family! And the food was amazing! But that was many years ago. Very good times we had. -
Packing help for European summer cruise
lovesthebeach2 replied to pepele's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We were on Odyssey last year for 27 days for a B2B HolyLand / TA and we each brought ONLY a carryon and backpack. We also spent 3 days prior in Italy. We are D+, so the free bag of laundry each helped with some of the clothes like shorts, workout things, undies and socks, but many of the items we brought - especially all my shirts and my work out clothes - could be washed in the sink and hung to dry in the cabin or on the balcony. I also bought skirts and a couple of lightweight dresses from Ripskirt that I also washed in the sink in the cabin. -

Grandeur updates since dry dock?

I remember seeing a post on FB with pictures of work being done and it appeared to be lots of upgrades. So I’m thinking it looks good enough that we may book a cruise on it! -
