  1. exactly what we looked at doing on two separate tickets, However, no direct flights from MCO to LHR. Appreciate you mentioning the bag fees, hadn't thought about that and it will certainly add cost. That along with the added travel time to make this work may not justify the savings as previously mentioned. Guess it was worth inquiring about, least I learned couple new things. Thanks to you both. Enjoy :)

  2. ah, gotcha. So this might work for us. We could pick up a $100-150 flight to MCO. Then take the MCO-ATL-LHR outbound. On the return LHR-ATL-MCO collect our bags in Atl and drop out. That is if Heathrow doesn't do the pre-clearance drill.

I realize we'll add flying time but could possibly trim over $800 in airfare...crazy. Strange we can't get similar fares direct from ATL, that's the way it is. Thanks for the input.:)

  3. If booked on one record, dropping the MCO-ATL segment would cause the entire itinerary to be dropped. Not making your first flight cancels all the rest.

Kinda what I thought might be the case. Got it.

On the return, if we dropped out in Atlanta and failed to board for the final ATL-MCO leg, any consequence?

Thanks Bruce, your always a great help.

edit..probably bad idea as bags would be checked through to MCO

  4. I turn to you air experts for advice. Currently ATL to LHR nonstop is around $1500pp. However, MCO (Orlando) to LHR with a layover in ATL is under $1000pp.

I live in Atlanta, could I book the Orlando to Heathrow, skip the first leg (MCO-ATL) and board in Atlanta. On the return we would obviously drop the last leg and remain in Atlanta. Is this possible? Would they consider us no show for not boarding in Orlando and drop of from the remainder of flight (ATL-LHR)? Thanks for any advice.:)

  5. We're looking into taking Norwegian Fjords this Summer. We've had cabins all over but never a rear facing. Can one tell me...is this balcony fully covered? More importantly how much noise, vibartion or soot might one encounter? We're looking specifically at Baja deck. Thanks for the input. :)

  6. We too sailed early June. The euro machine was on deck, very near to Cherry on Top. I did notice one day it was out of funds, another day had significant line. We used late afternoon in one port after returning from tour and no problems at all. This was likely an hour or so prior to the all aboard for that port. The exchange turned out to be 1.13 (it was 1.18 prior to leaving stateside at that time). Additionally it charged a 6euro service fee per transaction. That was our experience. Enjoy. :)

  7. Off Vista couple weeks ago, we rec'd a wooden box which contained blank note cards w/envelopes. The wooden box was confiscated by grandson when we returned home, a new treasure chest is what he refers. The note cards, not sure where they are. We thought it was somewhat strange, do people still write and send notes of sorts:) Enjoy whatever you get

  8. we were on 8-day, we did not do mdr at all. The other venues on Lido were more convenient for us after days filled with touring. Enjoy:)

Also, no shows or any other entertainment for us either. Only spent a total of 4-5hrs in casino the entire week as well.

Yes, we felt like we didn't really explore the ship. Of course, we knew this going in so that's a good reason to sail her again next year when she is stateside.

  9. We just debarked Vista on a Saturday morning. We did self assist going off ship shortly after 6a. 20-25 minute taxi ride to airport. Stood at check in while Delta prepared for their day. Checked in, thru security and sitting at our gate apprx 7:45a. Our flight was scheduled 10:25a. That was our experience on 6/11.

When originally booked, our flight departure time was just after noon. Over the months, Delta continually advanced the time, finally leaving it at 10:25a (nonstop flight to ATL). We debated for several weeks as this was the only non-stop. We opted to leave it as is and figured if we did miss the flight we would enjoy the city another day...or two. We made this decision after much research and my inquiring with many here on CC. I think you'll be fine with your 12:45p time. Enjoy:)

  10. Were picked up from airport and immediately began our half day city tour. Excellent from beginning to end and saw many landmarks with Javier serving as our guide. Also used them the following morning for half day to Monserrat tour, again, superb morning as we toured with Catherine.

Many months prior while planning this holiday, the communication with office via Anna was top notch as well. She was always on her game, pleasant in her msgs and always welcoming the next question. She as well had sent email within 24-36hrs post tour to ensure we totally enjoyed our tours and invited any feedback...positive or negative. She wanted to ensure our satisfaction.

Would definitely tour with them again without hesitation. You won't regret. Enjoy. :)

  11. We used a nice minivan for four on our return ship to BCN. 57euro. We were fine with that otherwise we would have needed two small taxi at around 35euro each (if I recall correctly).

We took day tours with Barcelona Day tours. Excellent group and I believe they also offer the service you're looking for as well. Enjoy:)
