I assume this thread gets closed, but I'm just ready for things to be final, not playing out in these court battles. The most frustrating thing about this case is they could have made it a year ago, when the CDC shut down the industry and strung it along. It took them actually giving regulations that allowed cruising for this to all finally happen.

There are tons of options to sneak on board. I've carried it on in my pockets and done the Listerine thing. I've considered the wine bottle trick (and know people that have done it for decades). My mother gave me some of those fake shampoo/lotion, but I haven't had a need to try them. I can also tell you it's also easy to take it right past security on most ships I've been at. I've been told to show my stuff, and then got to the guy and they say don't worry about it.
I don't get mad at anyone for sneaking on, but I do understand concerns over the soda box trick or the wine trick leading to bans of those, but I wouldn't be surprised to see those gone just because they want to sell you wine and soda too.
To me the issue is how often I need to go back to my room to get more. I've carried around a big cup to reduce trips, but hate carrying it around. Currently for my November cruise, my plan is to take champagne to make mimosas in the mornings (unfortunately a bottle will last me 2 mornings max) and hope for a decent happy hour option where I can stock up on beers (or if it every day just mostly drink during it).

Four years ago on the Gem there were young adult meet ups several nights, my 19 and 20 year olds went (I signed the beer/wine waiver).
I had no idea that was an option. I guess I cruise Carnival too often.

Floors me that yours is more than double mine. We don't have any sea days, so that is the only thing I can think of.
I managed to book mine online, but it took a few tries. Now it says not available to book, and I don't think that is because I already booked. -
I'll tell you how crowded it looks in 24 days. 😎

Oh jeez....Looks like American departs out of a domestic terminal for all flights- fingers crossed this is true
According to O'Hare's site only United goes out of domestic for international flights (I assume you are there instead of Midway). I'm on Austrian Airlines, so I'm definitely out of the international.

Just looked at my vacation summary for Oct 3, 2021. Flights are listed (dates and cities) so I did some digging and found my flight details there, but not home... I have a 57 minute and a 70 minute layover to get there (2 stop flight uh and we're coming from Orlando a big airport)....orlando--charlotte--chicago--athens. Stinks we're going to be further west in Chicago that adds to flight time to Greece...Flight home appears to be Athens to Montreal to Orlando
I'm going out of Atlanta (Busiest in the world) and have 2 stops. I'm ATL-ORD-VIE-ATH. Have you looked at Chicago's transit from domestic terminal to international? You have way more time than me, but right now the transit so you don't have to go through security again is closed due to COVID, and the train system is down for repairs (which apparently happens quite frequently) which does require you to go through security, but at least it saves you a walk.
When we first booked the cruise, it showed ATL-NYC-ATH, but no flight information. We asked to come in 2 days early, and flights were posted a few days later with the 2 stops.

Cost on my cruise was $109 pp and it is for the week.
Cost varies on each ship and itinerary. Mine might be cheaper because we have no sea days.

UPDATE #3: I wanted to capture some changes that were made on Friday to sailings on the Horizon and Vista (but not the Breeze?) in Mr. Heald's own words:
I a so very sorry that for the first few cruises in July and August on Carnival Horizon and Carnival Vista that we have decided that Camp Ocean will not be open and w are unable to entertain and provide the children with the usual fun that is such an important part of their cruise experience.
...
However, we have as of last night announced that Circle C and Club O2 will be open since these kids, ummmm, tennns, ummm young adults will be over 12 and will be vaccinated.
I am very sorry for any confusion and this again shows how this return to service is continuingly evolving and I must thank everyine for their patience.

My opinion is this is a pretty big change to spring on cruisers at the last minute who already had to go through the hassle of applying for exemption(s). Further discussion on this issue is being held here:
While I think the decision is a reasonable one, it would piss me off if I was on those cruises with my 5 year old. I wouldn't cruise with her with no kids club. Really wouldn't want to take my 11 year old either.

I would assume it would be around $175 each for the whole cruise?
It is $217 total for my wife and I on our Jade cruise leaving in July, so yours should be the same.

They applied mine to an already booked cruise. My PVP ensured me that it was impossible, but it happened.
So the answer is supposed to be yes, but apparently not always. There is no way to use it online that I'm aware of.

That is the downside to booking with them. They decide on the flights. I'm not happy about 2 layovers, but hard to knock the price.

My cruise home page has this on it:
CAGNEY'S STEAKHOUSE
Not available to book. Please check back later or once on board.
Ours used to say that, but then it changed like a month ago (maybe after my wife called because she had questions about how it worked). Cagney's was actually unavailable for 2 when we looked online before, but now it is. We used the online chat to get reservations at Cagneys since it hadn't shown any days available for 2.
We booked Moderno back on on May 30th. I didn't get a confirmation on Cagneys (but shows on my booking), so I don't know the exact date, but I think it was last week.

We are on the Jade 7/25/21 cruise as well. I am still feeling 50/50 on chances of sailing. NCL has not opened up the reservation system on-line for shows or dining. I hope that is not because they know it is not sailing.
It will be kind of cool if we are the first ones to sail again on a NCL ship.
We have our dining reservations.
Crew is currently boarding in Italy.

We will be on NCL's first sailing back (Jade on July 25th), but that is in Greece. Less than 4 weeks away.

#1, because those 3 ports are the farthest away, so there are fewer cruises that visit them. They don't typically visit all 3 of those islands (normally you get 2 of the 3).
#2 was what we had booked for one of our cancelled cruises. I love this one, but you'll have other options to visit La Romana & Amber Cove, including plenty of all-inclusive resorts.
Price would have to be very high for me not to choose one of those 2.

The issue is you can't cancel just one of the pax in the cabin the night before - you have to cancel both. So the OP would be forced to cancel and purchase once on board.
Yes, but at least the option is there if they wanted to play it safe.

Well they won’t, so there’s that!
Each adult assigned to the same stateroom must purchase the program. This applies even if your stateroom-mate doesn’t drink. Both must purchase it.
it is also NON-REFUNDABLE.
I hear reading is fundamental in life lol! Good luck
It is still not per cabin and it can be canceled for a full refund up until the night before the cruise.
-
Carnival CEO just said they don't have supply to meet demand.
I'm on Norwegian Jade on July 25th, and it has been sold out for several weeks. So are 2 of the August sailings.

No it’s per CABIN, not per PERSON.
Cheers is per person, not per cabin. The requirement is that every person in the cabin over 21 have it.
They should refund it. -

Except it isn't valid on their private island either....

They are at Great Stirrup Cay, or at least were in 2018.

One reason to go with NCL instead of CCL.

They'll email you when flights have been finalized.

It is over $600 pp for me. I wouldn't pass up that rate.

Pfizer expects results for 5-11 group in September. So September is the earliest we can expect emergency authorization for them. My 2 younger kids bookend that age group, so I'm hopeful we are all fully vaxxed by our Thanksgiving cruise.
