I'm looking forward to Platinum, but once I get there, I'm not concerned with Diamond. It will be great if I get there, but the perks I care about most are available to Platinum too.
Carnival basically has the worst membership.

Not usually. They can make it less time consuming to filter down your cruise or check prices quicker for you under multiple options, but they aren't of huge value to those that don't mind searching themselves.

You are correct, depending who gives you the OBC. If it's from NCL, it's a no. If it's a TA it is likely ok to use for the DSC/Gratuities.
I didn't know that. It makes sense, but doesn't work that way on Carnival. I assumed it would be the same.

I've had YTD for one night on a cruise and absolutely hated it. We had to wait an hour to sit. I love having the same wait staff throughout my cruise. I like just going in and sitting down. We always do late dining.
It didn't bother us the same way on NCL, but that was a cruise with friends and we liked the flexibility of eating together or apart if we wanted to.

I asked John Heald about it and he thought Mardi Gras would have FTTF starting in November 2021, of course things can always change.
Has still yet to become available on my Thanksgiving booking. I'd guess at this point it just isn't going to happen for my sailing.

NCL Star sailings are all showing "sold out" in all cabins through 2021. The first available booking in January 2022 from Buenos Aires.
Maybe this is a glitch, but with the uncertainty from the UK they may want to send the ship somewhere else.
Any other ships showing sold out?
It is available in October-December 2021. You sure you don't have your filters preventing it from showing, because I see them on NCL.

Look down toward the bottom of the page. It says "©2020 Miami Herald" . Looks like this article is from last year.
Original article is June 16, 2020... Way to go MSN.

It's mostly paperboard although the cap and short spout are plastic (supposedly plant-based plastic...whatever that is). Also, if you look inside, there is some kind of aluminum foil inside the carton.
The cap had to be.
I do question the environmental advantage of switching from the easiest to recycle plastic.

Celebrity, Aida, MSC, & TUI all have ships currently running Greek Island cruises. So we know 100% that the Greek government is good to go.

I actually did a search myself yesterday on ncl.com for European NCL cruises available for August and September 2021, and was surprised to see that there are no cruises available until September.
You can book the Jade for Aug 8th and beyond, though Aug 8th only has suites remaining.

Hi All,
What does that consist of? We used to get one or two bottles of water per cabin.
Thanks,
happytotravel
Instead of plastic, the bottle is made of paperboard.

I have remote accessed my work every cruise. I've used AnyDesk & TeamViewer. I think I have used Windows Remote Desktop as well. So worst case he could remote into a home desktop to connect to the VPN.

I was in the cooler of the Valor in December 2019. There were Coke and Pepsi products in there, but no Dr. Pepper products.
I have cruised out of New Orleans five times(2017 - 2019), and I have never seen Dr. Pepper on any menu or at the casino, lobby, or aft pool bars.
I feel like it was when we went on the dream out of new Orleans.
And 100% that they've had soda flavors not on the menu and only at certain bars for whatever reason.

They advertise that you save $20 versus the onboard price. But there's no way to buy a pass in advance?
My cruise is July 25th. I purchased my passes on May 19th. I'm on the Jade. I don't know when it opened up.

Hearing that makes me sooooo excited for my Jade cruise next month.

I've had Mr. Pibb on Carnival before but no Dr. Pepper
That was before they switched to Pepsi in 2019. They made the switch shortly before the pandemic ruined cruising.

Ok, thanks. I thought when I went out of Galveston they had DP
They still do. Galveston & New Orleans are special.

Why would they sell it right now if they werent going to honor it. Someone on my sept roll call posted they bought today. Makes no sense they would sell it and not honor it and have to refund.
Free money?
I do recall them putting out information before saying that you would have to arrive at your designated time (for obvious reasons) regardless of priority status. Of course that was before the latest attempt at a restart, and before the vaccination requirements.

Most of you are making me feel better about my May Sunshine cruise getting cancelled, lol.
The biggest cons to Carnival are the kids (if they bother you), their 15 drink Cheers limit (once again, if that applies to you), and lastly they charge you on their private island, no food or drink included even with Cheers (which wouldn't apply since you aren't going there).
Really, the most important aspect is how into it the Cruise Director and Fun Squad are. Unfortunately no way of knowing what those crews will look like coming back after so long.

Hoping that by November this isn't an issue. CSO will expire, but could (and probably will) get extended in some form. Of course also hoping my younger 2 will be vaccinated by then.

You never know. My son's braces set off the metal detector at the aiport, and they just swabbed his hands.
My wife's piercings have also set off metal detectors, but never been an issue. But in both cases they don't always go off. Just sometimes.

I always book FTTF on Carnival, but $179 is way too high. My Greece cruise doesn't have sea days, so no discount on spa services to even help offset it.
Only way I'd change my mind is if we are doing a non-NCL excursion and need priority tender.

I love it because it's often not crowded and their drinks are unique. They are also made from pure ingredients in comparison to the drink mixes used at other bars.
Watch them pour several at once (I've seen 10 poured at once).
