Well I am a newbie to Celebrity having sailed one time on the Constellation but after that trip in 2013 we fell in love with X and my next two cruises are on the Equinox and Millenium. We sailed on the Allure of the Seas right before our Connie cruise and I was worried because the Allure was big, new, beautiful and had incredible entertainment, but Celebrity won us over because their food, entertainment and crew was so much better. Then next we sailed on the Sapphire Princess and we were so disappointed with everything about that ship that it will take the perfect itinerary and price to get us back. We also sailed with Oceania and while the service and food were outstanding, it's hard to find an itinerary at the right time for us. But I think that cruise lines are subjective, you have to find the one that fits you.

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to travel from Seward to Anchorage for our flight home? Is buying the cruise transfer the best way to go?
-
Well thanks for your encouraging words. We are usually very easy to please but I guess I got a little gun shy by some of those reviews. I will quit reading them and form my own opinion after we sail:).

We just booked an Alaska cruise on the Millenium. It will be our 3rd Celebrity cruise, with our 2nd coming up in May on the Equinox. Our 1st was on the Constellation in 2013 and we fell in love with Celebrity, that ship and her crew. All the reviews on the Equinox are great, but some of the ones on the Millenium are pretty bad. Now I'm thinking we should have chosen a newer ship. Can someone reassure me it will still be good?

Thanks for your wonderful review. We are sailing on the Equinox next May for a Mediterranean cruise and it will be our 2nd Celebrity cruise and first on this ship.
We loved our first cruise on the Constellation so much that we are somewhat anxious we won't like the Equinox as much, but you have put those fears to rest.
Thanks again!

Suntan- I enjoyed your review mainly because your itinerary is similar to the cruise we are taking on the Equinox next May 2015. We also have a stop in Naples and the Amalfi coast. Did you get to go to Pompeii and can you tell me the name of the private tour company you used there? Thanks for sharing.;)

We are booked on the Equinox for May 21, 2015 departing Rome and ending in Barcelona. I looked for a cruise that had an overnight stay in Istanbul, with stops in Santorini, Athens, and Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. This cruise also has some other stops in Greece and is 12 days. We are excited because when we booked we got a free classic beverage package which includes some alcohol and prepaid gratuities. Our TA threw in some OBC to sweeten the deal. Good luck with your cruise.

I just booked a cruise on the Equinox for next May and have spent the past week trying to find my reservation on the website. I keep getting that same error message. Asked my TA about it and he said he's never seen that before. Glad someone else is having the same problem. The best part is Celebrity sent me an email congratulating me on my booking but when I log in I can't find it. Go figure! Thought I was crazy!!

Your pictures and posts brought back memories of our cruise. We sailed round trip from Papeete on Oceania Marina from April 5 to April 19. While waiting to disembark, your ship pulled into port and docked next to us. We liked it so much we are booking her to Alaska in July 2015.

It's already packed with my travel documents.:)

Billk400-
Just heard from my TA and he had Oceania send me a new guest statement that has my prepaid gratuities and free internet on page 3. He said there was a glitch with Oceania that is now fixed. Hopefully your TA will do the same for you. Good luck.

Billk400-
Will let you know what I hear from my TA. He usually takes a few days to get back to me but always does.

We got the same deal from Oceania and nowhere on my documents does it say this. I emailed my TA for advice. I'm glad you mentioned this otherwise I see myself arguing with Oceania at embarkation.

We have a similar problem. We are booked using Oceania air on United from Houston to LAX with 4 hour layover before boarding Air Tahiti charter to Papeete. Oceania says I can probably tag luggage in Houston through to Papeete but I'm leery of doing that for fear my luggage will get lost. Should I claim it in LA and recheck at Air Tahiti?

We booked our upcoming April cruise last November and requested a B4 cabin. We were assigned a Gty cabin which is a first for us. My cruise is still six weeks out and I don't have a cabin assignment either. I hope you get upgraded to your friends category or that will suck. At this point I would just like to know where my cabin is located. Good Luck.

Thanks everyone. Since we are on a charter, I would guess the whole plane will be heading to the ship so it would be nice to be able to grab a snack. Yes,we will get something to eat on the plane, but you know what that's like. We do not have O's transfers.
-
I kinda knew that would be the only option. Thanks.

We are sailing for the first time on Marina to FP in April and on a charter flight that arrives close to 9pm. By the time we get through customs and catch a taxi to the pier it will be quite late. Will there be any place open for a quick bite or is room service our only option?

Did you pay your taxi driver in USD or Local currency?
-
Thanks for the tips. I will bring all my tags with us to use on all our luggage.
-
I got my flight info today also and our flight leaves Papeete at 10:50 pm Sat. Night so I guess we will have a long time waiting to catch that flight.
-
Does Oceania mail or email luggage tags along with boarding passes or does your TA send this to you? How soon before sailing date would you receive this?
First time on "O" 4/5/14.
-
Thank you for the flights and baggage info. I feel better that we won't be on the Atlas charter. I read some nasty comments about them on these boards and wasn't looking forward to their flights.
-
PirateShark-
Since your cruise is coming up fast, I'm sure you have your flight info. Are you on the Air Tahiti flight or on the Atlas charter? Do you know if there are any baggage fees with either? Also, what time do you arrive in Tahiti? My cruise sails at 5am on 4/6/14.

Our first cruise with Celebrity was on the Connie where we fell in love with the ship and X. Up next for us is the Equinox and I can only hope it's as good as the Connie. You will love the crew and as everyone else says the food in the MDR is as close to excellent as you can get. Have fun!
