Thank you Pinot Lover. That’s pretty much what I expected. I’ll make sure to bring my own shawl or blanket. Airplane food is never very good anyway but I was hoping for wine at least.
Are the airlines requiring a pre-COVID test taken 2-3 days before boarding?

My price for the Harmony for next July is $178.99 pp. I think that’s awful plus there are 9 in my party but I read that you can pay $50 to add an extra person. You’d think for $1431.92 they wouldn’t charge for the 10 year old in our group but I guess Royal is trying to catch back after all this time of no sailing.

I’d like to know how your overseas flights were, especially the one going to the ship? Did it depart on time, was it full and did you fly in early or the day of the cruise? We are booked on the Riviera in May of 22 and Oceania is booking our air. I don’t know what to expect. We fly into Rome and this will be our first flight since COVID began. We are vaccinated and hopefully will have the booster long before we fly in May. I guess it’s too early to speculate what will be going on in 8 months but I was curious how you made out. Glad your cruise was safe and you had a good time.

Thank you both for this info. I will check with Insuremytrip and Nationwide.

The O quote is just for the trip. The $2300 is 20%

Oceania just quoted me $2300 for cancel for any reason insurance on a 12 day Med cruise for next May. Does anyone else think this price is high? We have MASA air transportation plus our credit card insurance. I really don’t want to spend another 2K on insurance for 12 days.
Your thoughts please. -
Thanks everyone for your answers. I did look at the Insignia cruise but wow everything is waitlisted. Guess I will have to keep searching.
-
Was anyone booked on this cruise and if so have you been able to find the same itinerary or a similar one for 2021 or 22?
DH and I hated having to miss this one. We were so looking forward to the three days in Jerusalem. -
We also received our refund this week. I canceled our cruise on April 13 so it took about 6 weeks. Yay!
-
I sure hope you’re right!

I’m only on week 5 of waiting for my May 1st cruise refund. Judging from what I read here, I guess I need more patience. Like others have said, it’s hard when Oceania expects us to pay ASAP, but takes forever to refund our money. Yay for those of you who got yours back!
-
Thank you Vlthom. Your explanation of when you received your refund was perfect and helped a lot.

Thanks Clo, I’ll look into that. I’m hoping it won’t be an issue, but these days you never know.
-
Yes I’ve read that too, and When she said 4-6 weeks I said Wow, I was expecting 90 days. She said Oceania told her 4-6 weeks, but I’m not holding my breath. We’ll see.

Thank you to everyone who chipped in their opinion on the timing of my refund. I know there is no crystal ball but I am just seeking how other refunds have been handled. Due to the crisis going on now my long time TA is no longer working and a new agent who I don’t know from Adam has been assigned and yes she too is working from home. I am a little concerned because the comments I’ve read on these boards has referred several times to the possibility of NCL filing bankruptcy which would void all refunds. I’m just hoping to get my refund before that might happen. I did hear from my new TA today and she said Oceania has all the info from us needed to process our refund and we will just have to wait the 4-6 weeks.
-
So are you saying you haven’t receive your full refund only the deposit? The reason I ask is that my cruise was canceled about a week ago and I had my TA request a refund rather than fcc. She said it would take about 4-6 weeks and told me the amount I would get credited back to my card. The amount is exactly the total amount we paid for this trip. I was just wondering if I will get the $1500 deposit first followed by the balance later.

Zesty Italian-
could you tell me how many weeks it took to get your refund? Both of them.
-
Thanks for that info bitob. I will be patient till the end of the month and then start nudging my TA.
-
I’m concerned somewhat regarding my refund. Oceania canceled my May 1st cruise on March 30 and my TA called that day to ask if we wanted the FCC or a refund. I took the refund and she said it would take 4-6 weeks. I never received anything from Oceania stating the amount of my refund or that it was being processed. My TA told me the exact amount I would be credited but she knows that from her records. Should I call Oceania to verify this? I’m worried now NCL could file chapter 11.
-
I hope my refund comes as quickly as y’all’s did. I canceled yesterday and my TA said It would take 4-6 weeks. I have already made final payment so they owe me a chunk. My cruise was May 1st.
-
I’m not sure why port fees aren’t refunded. It’s not my fault if a cruise is cancelled by Oceania.. If I cancel then I can see the fees not being refunded
-
Very true regarding final payment. Mine is due June 22 for our Sept 20 cruise. I sure hope we can make this one. I will be canceling the May 1st one. I will be very glad to get a fcc for that cruise unless Oceania cancels it before April 28 and if they do then I will take the refund back on my credit card. I just want back what I paid, don’t need more or want less.

Absolutely I agree with you. They are just thinking if one of us gets sick, we’ll wind up in a European hospital somewhere and they’ll have to come get us. We travel a lot and until this happened, they have never asked us to cancel a trip. Oh well, I hope we all get to travel and look back on this and laugh.
-
No no, I’m not saying that at all. I just feel that with all the precautions the airlines and cruise lines are taking, it’s probably safer than before. But no can control what or where you go or do once in port. We do our own things most times when we get off the ship, and even though we might be very careful there has been occasions when we’ve returned from Europe with some type of mild stomach virus that popped up after we got home so no telling where we picked it up. I’m also not saying we should all cancel and stay home. That’s for each person to decide that, certainly not me. I want to go on my cruise, I just have family that are concerned about the timing.

Cococay cabana rental
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Our upcoming family cruise on Harmony next July will include a day at Cococay. We would like to rent a beach cabana at the Coco beach club. I read that they only accommodate up to 8 guests but we have 9. The youngest is 10 years old. Does Royal ever let extra guests pay a fee to be allowed in? Thank you.
