oh, I just remembered. On our very first cruise, there was a couple of adults fighting in their cabin next door in the early hours on the LAST night...I've never even been awakened by an unruly child (but have been awaken plenty of times by adults fighting in the cabin next storeAnd on one of our Princess cruises, there was a kid (about 3 yo) in the next cabin that screamed bloody murder every night about 10 pm, when his parents tried to put him to sleep. That went on for about 30-40 minutes. Thankfully, our kid slept right through it and we weren't asleep yet.
Neither episode RUINED our vacation, and I completely forgot about both of them, until PP brought it up.

hmmm, DS was 22" at birth. That doesn't leave much longer to use it.Play Yard's specifics:For use by children unable to climb out, less than 24" tall

I have been on 7 cruises, including 4 with my kiddo - which means school break sailing. I honestly NEVER saw any misbehaving kids.

This one is part of their famous "WOW" sale
is it going to be even better than the KSF I booked 2 weeks ago?
-
what do you mean - WILL be? Isn't it running RIGHT NOW through the end of July? The next KSF will be 7/25 - 7/29 on select sailings. As usual there will be lots of black out dates. -
Our first cruise with the offspring was on RCCI when DS was 3. It was great! It was on Independence, so it wasn't ancient (you get what you get when you pick an old fart of a boat), but it wasn't brand new either. It was still clean and shiny.
DS does not do kid's club or babysitters, so the entire cruise was family time galore, and thankfully, there is plenty to do for a family on RCCI ships (unlike Princess).
We had an inside room and paid a reasonable price for it. We expected to be treated just like anyone in an inside room gets treated, and our expectations were met and exceeded in a positive way.
We are looking forward to being in an inside room once again on the Allure next year. So much to see, so much to do!
We are now limited to school breaks, but do not sail during summer (hurricane season and it's too hot).

They are designed with families in mind - having things that will appeal to all ages. And compared to taking my family to WDW with several hundred thousand other people, spending an entire day and maybe only riding 5-6 rides, and paying twice as much, the mega ship is very appealing and intimate! You need to put things in perspective.
same here. We'll be sailing on Allure for the FAMILY activities. Princess doesn't offer anything like that (carousel, slides, rock climbing, ice skating, flowrider, kiddy pool area, Central park, promenade), and cooking demonstrations and bingo hold no interest for either me, my DH or our 7 yo DS.
Sure, Princess food is better (subjectively), but I am sure we won't starve on Royal Caribbean.
Oh, and the shows are better on RCCI!
Why don't you visit RCCI board and see what people THERE think of megaships?
-
my 7 yo does not do flip flops, so we have generic crocs ($6 at Marshalls) and $5 water shoes from Walmart. The water shoes are usually used only at destinations with rocky beaches. Other than that and on board he uses the crocs.

Has anyone stayed in E335 on Royal? We just agreed to switch staterooms on our upcoming sailing and now we are wondering. Thanks for any info that you might be willing to share.
we were in E332 and loved it.
OF course, it was our very first balcony cruise, and we got upgraded for free. :) But I loved having a balcony (even though some people complain that it's small). I also liked the sofa bed - it was more comfy than the regular bed.

I've recently looked up some all inclusive trips and they were all sooo much more expensive than cruises we take. Am I looking in the wrong places? Some didn't include food and they were still more expensive than the cruise.

Not only is this thread totally unrelated to RC (so on the wrong board) it's also over 10 years old
so, nobody became diabetic in 10 years and those with diabetes cruising with RC can't possibly be interested in water shoes?
-
LOL ^_^
Diabetics can have some real problems with their feet (poor circulation in legs/feet and sometimes hands).
If they get a sore (from a blister from an ill fitting shoe) it can get very bad. Sometimes takes a long time to heal (sometimes doesn't heal :( )
So it's a real good idea to make sure that they have a good pair of shoes.
My dad is diabetic, his dad was a diabetic, and I am prediabetic.
My dad and I have regular water shoes from Walmart for $5.

according to OP, his DD is a trial attorney. Most folks don't become one until after they are 21.Someone said the daughter should have went with a friend but maybe the daughter and her friends are under 21 so she had to go with an adult ie her mam as per RC US regulations.Plus, you'd think a trial attorney would be able to afford a cruise. I am no trial attorney, and my earnings are nowhere near a typical lawyer's income, but I took my parents on a cruise last year in addition to my hubby and kiddo.

OP- Sorry you have met with such ridicule and rudeness on this thread. People seem to be so invested in the reputation of RCCL that it's akin to telling them their baby is ugly when you make any critical remark.
I am not invested in RCCL's reputation at all, but I think OP is the rude one. He got very personal several times.

Wasn't the Adventure recently refurbed this year?
2016, according to a TA website.
-
I'd guess that she wasn't happy that daughter chose RCL rather than 'her' line.
Boom, there it is!
The wife goes on an 17 year old ship. Expects it to be 100% rust free. LOL.
-
yes, you should definitely try Princess, but only Regal and Royal.
Since you didn't mention kids and fun activities you want to do with them, you will find the more adult, relaxed atmosphere of Princess quite agreeable.
If you are not limited to school breaks, try to do the ABC island itinerary.

why would she expect Diamond Class treatment on RCI on her very first cruise with them?Although she was Diamond class by virtue of her past cruises on Celebrity, my wife had to actually ask for basics like a shower cap and lotions and a robe. -
The 40% deal is $250 more than when we booked our cruise with the 35% deal........lately is seems sale is just a 4 letter word;p
we must be looking at the same cruise, because that's exactly what I see.
-
I tried adding only one Classic soda package for our upcoming sailing (there are 3 of us in the cabin), and at that time the site allowed me to only put a checkmark by DH's name and proceed to checkout. I don't know if it's normal or not.
I didn't go through with the sale at that time, because the cruise is almost a year away.

My friend described carnival as a toddler sized toilet and she isnt even plus size and had a hard time in her shower. Got me nervous but good to know hes not going to bust the bathroom like the incredible hulk.
I don't know about Carnival, but I can attest that Princess and RCI's bathrooms aren't exactly toy sized.
We've sailed on Liberty, and my 6'1 180# did just fine. I did fine too, even though I am very much plus sized. It's actually more than plus size.
I mean - bending down in the shower to shave your legs would probably be uncomfortable, but doable. One can also do it in the sink if one is pressed for space. Most husbands will most likely not have this problem.

I would not take any kind of power strip or extension cord on a ship. They are incredibly picky (and I totally agree) because of the fire danger. Even Too many reports of supposedly allowed power strips/cords bring confiscated to make it worthwhile.
regular splitters are fine. Surge protectors are NOT fine. We brought one like this:

depends on the cruiseline. Some have restrictions on the ages.
