Strange, but Great Pricing Fluctuations?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to At Sea At Peace's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I don't think so. My other 2025 cruise costs more now than at the time of booking. -
do y'all complete the check-in for a no-show person? Whether they are planned or an unplanned no-show.

Strange, but Great Pricing Fluctuations?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to At Sea At Peace's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I am on the phone with them now, and while they had no problem with repricing, they "must" move me to a different cabin... What the heck. When I booked this cabin back in January, it was available for booking for 3 people (the cabin has a double sofa, so it can accommodate 4 people). So, X wants it back so it could sell it to a group of 4. I don't want to move - all that's left for 3 people has obstructed views, and this one doesn't. And it's forward which is what I want. -

thank you! There is no OBC on the 2 cruises I have booked in 2025, so nothing to lose if I call to reprice. I just wanted to make sure they don't charge for repricing as if it were a "cancellation and rebooking". -

it was! I just checked my 2025 cruise and it's $300 cheaper. So, I can call and reprice, even with a NR deposit, right? They are not going to cancel and rebook (charging $100 pp to change), are they? -

that promo has been around for a loooong time. -
oh, I thought the chat itself was down.
-
what's wrong with the chat? Seems to be working.
-
and the deluxe porthole balconies were all sold out?
-
that is an incorrect assumption.

yes! We always cruise on Thanksgiving, in the Caribbean. Lots of families, lots of kids on 7-8 day itineraries, but not so many on 10 day itineraries (very geriatric by comparison). We never found it to be awful - we love it. @tulok you can see my 2022 review in my signature if interested.

we no longer book guarantee, because when we did that at the beginning of our cruising history, we always ended up with the crapiest locations ever. Most of the time the guarantee rate on Princess isn't any cheaper than the rate which lets you pick your cabin (unlike RCI rates), so it makes sense to always book your desired cabin.

I would NOT go on Caribbean Princess. It's old and tired. If you go with Princess, I'd go on any ship younger than Royal Princess.

Celebrity's actual deceit on Move Up - bid for upgrade
Itchy&Scratchy replied to george_sf's topic in Celebrity Cruises
the whole point is that they didn't LOSE out on it. They won the bid. sure, if I bid on the move from an inside to a balcony for $400 total (as I did with Princess), won it and it was then taken away, a couple of hundred dollars of OBC would have been a nice consolation prize. However, OP paid more than $5K (that's more than I pay for any cruise for the 3 of us) for the upgrade, won it, lost it and then got a measly $200 consolation OBC. I would be very upset. -
How bad is Cococay with 11000 people?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to Neosophy's topic in Royal Caribbean International
they do? In all the years of cruising, we've managed to visit Nassau only once (on RCI). We went to the Blue Lagoon, and it was glorious! -
in terms of having a kid's club - yes. Other than that, there was nothing for them to do, really. Jade broke down 3 days into our 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise and we had to go home. The smoke permeated the entire middle ship, the swaying was very pronounced, the food was average at best, other than the crepes in the buffet during dinner. I hope you enjoy your cruise! My kid enjoys every cruise he is on, whether or not it has bells and whistles.

I seriously don't understand HOW OP thought that a $3K price for 4 passengers during a spring break in an OV cabin was real. Two months in advance???? OP, have you seen the prices for RCI cruises lately? We have stopped cruising with them because an inside room for 3 on Oasis class was in excess of $4K for a 7n cruise during school breaks. And the gratuities of $252 for 4 people for 7 days? That was a dead giveaway that something was glitching big time. well, you should have suspected it.

Do all balcony rooms have sofa beds?
Itchy&Scratchy replied to Tin can's topic in Royal Caribbean International
what? If I book a cabin for 3, I am definitely expecting a sofa. So, you telling us the room will only have a chair tells me that you had a cabin for 2. -

we were there twice: Harmony + Indy, and Oasis+Mariner (I think), and it was fine. Keep going past the Chill Island beaches to your immediate left, and you will find some space. However, we don't use the waterpark at CocoCay. I am sure it has long lines for everything. We don't do Beach club either. For illustration: -

but is it a cabin for 2 or 3-4 people? -

how old and big is your kid? Is he anywhere close to 165 cm? Mine is and he still loves pullman beds. However, Oasis class and newer doesn't have pullman beds. Here is what a sofa bed looked like in a regular balcony on Harmony: big enough to accommodate a regular adult (I took naps on it just fine, and I am pretty fluffy and tall for a woman): And this is a sofa bed on the Allure: definitely a double And this is a double sofa bed on the Oasis:
