It is definitely smaller than a queen, its more of a twin size. Was still adequate for our needs but felt a bit like sleeping in a travel trailer as one side is against the upper part of the sofa/wall. I slept on both sides and found the inside half which is the seat of the sofa is a little softer, the outside portion that slides out from underneath and then lifts and locks is more firm and has a wooden outside edge which is uncomfortable if you tend to have arms or legs out over the edge.
The 4 of us rotated through the outer sofa position taking turns. My wife and I (of average size in our 40's) found it a bit uncomfortable but not miserable. Our eldest son is 6' and 180 lbs found it a little small but managed, our other son is 5'6'' and 130 lbs never complained at all.
Thanks again for the great info!

Thanks for your review. We are on Anthem for the first time in January and super excited. Like yourself, we will be with our two boys - 13 & 10 - also with a balcony. Glad to hear you managed with the same type of cabin and pull out sofa was ok. Is the pull out a queen size or smaller?

Thanks for the review and photos. I am on there in a month, so following along!

Rick,
Loved this review! Going on Anthem in a month, so just found your Anthem review from May...looking forward to going through that one.
Cheers!

Booked balcony guarantee in Aug./17 for Anthem in Jan./18 and had assignment next day.
Once was assigned at the pier...and was an upgrade!, but that was a bunch of years ago.

Thanks for the review. We are on Anthem in January. We are planning on renting a car to go to WDW for the day. Where did you rent from and did you do after hours drop off or were they still open to return the car?
Thanks in advance.

Enchantment, but I have a soft spot for her...sailed on her for our honeymoon and first ever cruise. :)

We got upgraded at check in on our 1st cruise on Enchantment back in 1999. Went from OV to balcony. Granted, it was our honeymoon, so maybe that had something to do with it? Don’t recall getting upgraded since though on RCI or DCL.

Thanks for the reply Bob. Makes sense according to the law, however I don’t think the law makes sense in this day and age, but it’s the law so I better not miss the boat!

We are on Anthem in January and planning on renting a car regardless to go to WDW. We are there 7am - 9pm, so plenty of time. We are planning to be back to the ship by 7-7:30. I am not too worried about not making it back to port before the ship leaves, but if something did happen and we missed it, can we just pick up the ship the next day in Miami? Will they allow us back on in Miami? That’s my plan B.
Thanks.

I will look at prices in both currencies on their website and figure out the best currency to pay in. I booked about a month ago and paid USD as was better for me to pay exchange with bank. Saved about $300.
Looking at the website right now, balcony cabin on Anthem for 4 people is $4750 CDN. Same in USD funds is $3526. Using exchange at 1.2504 (BMO today) works out to $4408 CDN...about a $250 savings than paying in Canadian funds.
***Sorry, you were asking about OBC, but think same logic still applies.

We will be renting a car when we stop in PC on Anthem in a few weeks. I have a car reserved with Hertz with after hours drop off. I have read elsewhere of the guy in the van to shuttle you back, but have not read of anyone actually using the service. I am going to get an Uber back to the ship. I will try and report back after my cruise to let you know how it went for us. (yn)
