The cruise prior to the June 5th 2025 one (Kobe to Singapore), has also been significantly altered and now finishes in Singapore on June 1st 2025, rather then June 5th.

We are on this cruise and as you say, it has been cut by 4 days ending in Singapore June 1.  We are trying to make up our minds what to do.  We booked this cruise to see Vietnam and some of that has been cut too.  I guess Azamara is trying to do the best they can but it's very disappointing.  We are waiting to see what the new price will be.

We were on the last viable cruise on the Eclipse as COVID hit.

We were to be on the B2B - 14 days each - from Buenos Aires to San Diego.

On March 14th, 2020 Celebrity cancelled all cruises.  They were kicking us off the ship in Santiago Chile to fly home.  Only problem was that the Chilean government wouldn't let us dock.

450 people were already B2B.  2400 passengers were not.  They couldn't get off and 2400 passengers weren't able to board.

We cruised around the Valparaiso bay for three days trying to negotiate with the government before we finally left.  Ecuador allowed tenders to get medical supplies.  Arrived without any landfall in San Diego on the appointed day.  14 tense sea days.

Celebrity stepped up.  Free cruise, free wifi, free booze and the flight home.

We were on that one too and thought Celebrity handled our disappointment very well.  We were supposed to end in Vancouver.  We got long COVID instead of long cruise!🥲

  3. Reflection is the only S class ship we have not sailed on, so I hope I'm not giving you bad advice!

Silhouette and Reflection are the only 2 S class ships that have the Lawn Club Grill.  We have eaten there several times and found it delightful.

If you do try it, go light on the flatbread at the beginning so you have room for the hot chocolate chip cookie for dessert.  it is outstanding and worth making room for.

Try and get a window seat if you go.  I think it is now $60/pp plus tip.

    Love your picture.

  4. I would pick the first also.  We have been to all the ports except Kotor and Dubrovnik and we will fix that in Aug on the Constellation.  Note on the first cruise Aqua class is the same price as Concierge.  That would be a plus for us.

We were typing at the same time.  Definitely a balcony!  We can't afford suites but we never cruise without a balcony..usually AQ class and enjoy it very much.  BTW, AQ class has its own dining room (Blu) in case you are not familiar with Celebrity.

Whatever you choose, have a great cruise and I hope your DH falls in love with cruising.

  5. I hope you go for it.  Japan is a lovely country with great food and the people are very gracious, so you will enjoy your ports there.  Singapore is one of the loveliest places we have ever been.  It is so tidy and safe....very enjoyable. Make sure you ride the cable car to Sentosa while there.

We are booked next year on a cruise from Kobe to Singapore (Azamara) and very much looking forward to the ports in Vietnam as we have never been there. I just have to see the Golden Hands bridge in Danang.  That's the one held up by the two hands...a walking bridge.

I agree with Sanger about the food on the ship.

All the best to you both and please let us all know how you enjoyed the cruise.

  6. I got an email from our CVP expressing his sympathy because we had to cancel our May 1 cruise from Honolulu, last Friday since DH had to have emergency surgery.  So nice of him since he was losing his commission and still thinking of our disappointment.

  7. Aqua definitely.  How far away is this cruise?  if you could get 3 of the stern cabins on deck 11, it would be fabulous.  These go quickly and there are only 5 of them.  You also get 2 extra loyalty points/day if you choose AQ over a regular balcony.  Enjoy your cruise.

Guest relations just left our cabin to hear for themselves. They definitely confirmed we have a problem. Waiting to see what happens next.

Great to hear.  i hope they can successfully fix it for you so you can enjoy the rest of your cruise.  BTW, I was just going to post the reason I thought you were not giving out your cabin number but you beat me to it.  i'm sure you'll give it when you are off the ship.

  9. I am so sorry your first post on Cruise Critic is about a nightmare.  You sure did get the runaround.  I hope your cruise to Scandanavia makes up for it.

We have sailed on many cruises and we have never booked airfare with the cruiseline.  We prefer to make our own arrangements for flights.

Welcome to Cruise Critic and all the best to you on future cruises and posts on here.
