We were on the Crown Princess. I was surprised at the answer. We were there just after 5PM so it wasn't that they were busy. :)

But, Yes, you can order something from the MDR when in Crown Grill. I was with family in the Crown Grill on an evening when I knew my absolute favorite sorbet was being served in the MDR. I asked if it would be possible to get the sorbet for dessert. They were happy to accommodate after warning me that it would take awhile as they had to go to a different galley. I was thrilled.

We did the Crown Grill last June. I wanted a Ceaser salad and they told me no way. I told them I had one every night in th main dining room. Thay said sorry no can do so I asked for Blue cheese and was told no. Only house dressing. Didnt leave a big tip.

Surely they aren't tendering? Well, I guess it is their only choice.

Princes did not tender any ship today. Im on the Crown. Another cruise line did tender. There are four births in Ketchican. :):(

not sure its still a steam train. they are nice and a great ride but the last couple of years walking by them i have seen only newer engines. Maybe they still have the steamers that run specific times interested to know what you find out. good ride either way

when I came up to these same situations the attitude was be fair with everyone and then go beyond fair to be kind. After this point there was no longer any point in making the call. the caller will keep going round and round the rebbit hole with no resolve to come of it. at that point you realize the customer is not always right and you walk away from it. This is the end. cant make you happy you will need to do as you wish but my time and energy are gone. A new day is about to dawn I will not make this a part of it.

It is not that she booked it ... it is in fact not right to try and make a big enough stink so a mistake will be honored. We have all made mistakes. Im sure that someone with the cruise line is now in hot water. Proof reading is not as simple as it is being made out to be.

I Was in retail advertising for nearly fifty years. Here is the deal. There is no state that requires honoring a price that was a mistake. You would have a hard time convincing anyone that it was anything but human error. My question to you, and many consumers through the years, would you want to be held to every mistake you have made. A typo does not qualify as bait and switch. Even retailers are human enough to make errors then correcting them. If you were given the wrong change would you keep it?

I think it will just slow down the check in process for your friend.

It would also slows down the line for everyone behind her.

Going on our first Alaskan cruise this summer. Very excited! Knowing that salmon is extremely popular in Alaska. Will Princess be offering lots of dining choices with salmon?

This will be our eighth year on the Alaskan Cruise. Last few years it has been one of the "always on the menu" choices in the main dining rooms. My wife has it most nights. It is really quite good. :)

we just had an upsell offer on Crown Alaska June 4th. From obstructed to balcony $250 each. Passed on the deal. Last year same cruise took upsell to balcony $100 each.

Looking for any suggestions about maximizing what we do/can do on the ship while at sea. Going with another couple and we're in our low to mid-40s so we're pretty active. Any tips on things we must do on the ship or places to check out on the ship?

 

Also, question about the day we cruise through Glacier Bay. I'm a photographer by trade and wanted to set up one or two timelapse cameras to capture the trip through the bay. Figure one on either side of the ship if possible. Obviously, I need to be aware of them possibly being stolen but wondering if anyone might have an idea of where I could hide a couple of small cameras (they're about 2.5 times the size of a GoPro so not a huge camera at all).

When entering Glacier Bay its kind of neat to be up and watch the Park Service board the ship. They come along side while the ship is still cruising and grab hold of a rope ladder to get onboard. IF YOU LIKE photography be on deck as you leave Glacer Bay and enter ICY Straights. I have seen so many whales you could not count them and a whole lot of them breaching. Have fun. We will be on our 7th year in a row on Princes to Glacier Bay all but one. We will be on board the 4th of June. Take a good pair of binoculars. If you watch along the beaches you have a good chance to see Brown bears.

Libby Riddles and Steve Hites - we too agree that they are great additions to the cruise experience. While lots of people have heard of Libby Riddles before, Steve Hites isn't a household name but he is well worth seeing. He is a wonderful storyteller and musician. thanks for the names! I cannot remember names. Had an operation where that portion of my brain was removed. Great yo hear there names Libby is always a great uplifting story.

This year is our 7th. Six in the last six years. love the scenery. live in Oregon so no flight needed. Drives my ta nuts. Same cruise same hotel. The only tour was the train in Scagway. Enjoy the folks that they bring on board like the first woman to win Iditarod and a gentleman that does some music in Scagway. We do a lot of walking. we have done Glacier Bay for all but one. incredible view of the Marjory glacier. Lots of whales in Icy Straight. Have seen Brown bears right near glacier. Be sure to have a quality pair of binoculars sit back and enjoy.

can you trade the internet minutes from platinum?

I tried to use the card for Gelloto on the Crown and was told I could not use it for the IC icecream:p

I had an issue on a cruise about six weeks ago. I sent an email to the address recommended on the Princess site. I also received the standard we are checking into it reply. I did receive a phone call about ten days later. Princess gave me a future cruise credi which is what I had asked for. When writing such a letter but is a good idea to tell them both the good things that you experience then the issue when stating the issue state what you expect to make you a happy camper. Hope you have a satisfactory solution soon. :rolleyes:

We were on the Crown just after dry dock. The sihip was bright and clean. New carpet and I think every scratch repaired. Absolutely wonderful. The Muts is clear and bright. The cabin was great with the exception of a plumbing problem.:D
