  1. Skier52 and AmoMondo,

I was just on the Oct 18th sailing of the Divina. Friends were in another cabin and registered a DEBIT card for onboard purchases. Yes they took it and no, there were no issues. Obviously other than MSC placing holds for extra amounts on the account which was expected.

Maybe the no debit card rule is enforced in the UK but not US. Just FYI....

  2. Cori,

I have a listing of all cabin dimensions (actually two different ones - one in square meters and one in square feet) with each individual cabin listed. It is broken down into cabin living space, bathroom and balcony if applicable plus some other details. Sorry I haven't been around to see your thread sooner. Anyway, just confirming what you were told:

Cabin 11048 = 169.1 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 144.9 sq ft living space).

    See you Oct 18th!

  3. Have you looked at the full breakdown i posted on the link 3 posts up from here

Yep...it appears that the drink packages are the big difference. Since it is so new to us (about 6 hours lol), I still have a lot of questions.

  5. There is no anytime dining, its first or second seating in the MDR.

For reservations starting September 23, 2014 for sailings starting October 18, 2014 and forward, My Choice dining is available when a Category B3 or S3 is purchased.

My Choice dining: "Guests will have access to the dining room at any time during service, including the break between first and second seating (guests will refer to the Daily Program delivered in the stateroom for opening and service time). A dedicated area in the main dining room will be allocated in order to accommodate them."

Other amenities will also be available in these categories.

  6. Don't worry there will be no winnings. 17 people went in a group and not 1 person was ever ahead at no point during there cruise, neither has my wife or friends seen a penny profit.

Never say never.... Someone I was traveling with won $200 on the slots. But yes, I do hear they are tight.

  7. Everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion and I would never begrudge anyone for saying what they think. That being said, the MSC Divina has become my favorite ship to sail. Three times so far and two more this year. Enough said.... :p

  8. Pleas show square footage of #13110. Thanks

    Divina bound cajun.

Cabin 13110 - Cabin Interior 191.8 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 167.6 sq ft living space). Balcony is 42.0 sq ft. This cabin should also have a single sofa bed and connects to Cabin 13112.

  9. Based on the info I have, the following cabins (suites/YC not included) have bathtub/shower combos:

    8112 8113 8114 8115 8116 8118 8119 8120 8121 8122 8123 8124 8125 8126 8127 8128 8129 8130 8131 8132 8216 8218 8220 8221 8222 8223 8224 8225 8227 8229 8234 8235 8236 8237 8238 8239 8240 8241 8243 8245 9128 9130 9131 9132 9133 9134 9215 9219 9221 9222 9223 9224 9225 9226

I find this funny because even some of MSC's own staff were not aware of this. Anyway, please use it only as a guide as I don't want to be yelled at if you don't get a tub. ;)

  12. Mostly my father is a bit annoyed at no soda package that is reasonable in the cost. Most cruises are around $55-60 for the week, and they don't offer a soda package for adults.

Not sure what price you are looking for but they do offer a 15 voucher soda package for $30. (You can buy more than one.) At $2 per soda, not a terrific deal but it will save you some money. It's Special Service item #666W14 if you need to order from your TA or MSC.

  13. Can you please tell me the size of my inside cabin 11274. Many thanks.

Hi modes! Good to know I don't exist or contribute. And thanks, riclop for sticking up for me. To answer your question:

Cabin 11274 - Cabin Interior 167.9 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 143.7 sq ft living space).

Hope this helps and sorry for the late reply.

  14. They have sailed on Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Celebrity, Carnival and Norwegian -- my question is, should they try a new cruise line?

The biggest challenge I have had with folks is they always want to compare it to another cruise line. Holland does this different....Celebrity does it that way. If you can go with an open mind and accept it for what it is, all will be fine. Keep in mind the price point you are paying and stop comparing.

    Just my thoughts....

  15. Is it appropriate to tip extra (above the daily hotel charge) to certain staff for certain things? Ex. We like to order room service sweets to wake us from a nap. On every other cruise we would tip the person who brought it.

If you are talking US sailings, by all means, tip extra if you feel someone is going above and beyond. If they are making your vacation better, why not make their day a bit better? As for room service, I would not even consider ordering it if you weren't going to tip. Not that it has to be much...even a couple of bucks will do. Not tipping room service staff is considered rude on US sailings in spite of MSC's "recommendation".
