  3. The new cabins are 10027 and 10031. Can you tell me about them???

    Thank you for your help!!

    Both are the same size:

    Cabin 10027 & 10031 - Cabin = 169.1 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 144.9 sq ft living space).

Can I ask if you have dimensions or any other info for cabin 15026 and 15022. Thanks.

Both of these are the same in square footage:

Cabin 15022 & 15026 - Cabin Interior 233.9 sq ft (32.8 sq ft bathroom + 201.1 sq ft living space). Balcony is 61.4 sq ft. This cabin has a bathtub/shower combo.

Sorry, Skier52 for jumping in since they asked you. You will have to let them know if dimensions are different between the cabins because I only have the square footage.

  4. Hi Bret,

Thank you for the reply. We don't really care where our cabin is so we're happier taking the savings. We've booked with a travel agent this time around so I guess I'll check with them closer to the time.

How do the cruise documents get issued? Are they emailed closer to the sail date? Thanks!

Yep, your TA should email them to you once they are notified by MSC that they are available. Don't fret as I have known them not to be issued sometimes as close as one week prior to sailing if the space is tight on your sailing though that is not typical.

  5. smeesme, apparently not everyone is aware of booking a cabin "guarantee". If you booked with a TA or by calling them direct, you will have to contact them for the cabin number (though you won't know when it's assigned). BTW, there is no such thing as an "order". Either you're booked or you aren't.

I can't answer to where to look if you actually booked on the website. Not sure if you can see it or not. However, they won't issue your cruise documents till a cabin is assigned. That way when you get them, the correct cabin number will be on your luggage tags.

  6. Is the drink package on MSC like on Carnival - that all adults in the cabin have to purchase it?

Even worse....not only does everyone in your cabin have to purchase it, anyone you are cross-referenced with for dinner has to as well. Well, if you want to sit at the same table that is.

    Bret

  7. I don't mean to hijack the thread, but since the experts are here...

Could you give me info on cabin 10012?

    Thanks much!

    Here ya go...

  9. I was told by MSC that the cabins foe 4 people were 169 sq ft, i have been in 2 of them for 4 and they were 169sq ft. In May im in 11149 and was told it was 167 sq ft. What do you have for 11149? thanks!!!

Some cabins that hold 4 can be 167 sq ft. Just depends on the individual cabin.

    For yours.....

Cabin 11149 - Cabin Interior 167.9 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 143.7 sq ft living space).

    Bret

  10. How about 10128 wheel chair accessible?

    Here you go...

Cabin 10128 - Cabin Interior 283.3 sq ft (38.6 sq ft bathroom + 244.7 sq ft living space). Balcony is 61.4 sq ft. This cabin should have a double sofa bed. The door width is 24" and is listed as handicap accessible.

    Hope this helps!

    Bret

  11. Since you happen to have the listings for the cabins, could you tell me what cabin 8064 is listed as? Thank you.

    Sure....

Cabin 8064 - Cabin = 169.1 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 144.9 sq ft living space).

    Hope this helps!

  12. I have two cabins booked for our Aug. 3 sailing. They are 10048 a B2 balcony and 10050 an inside. Can you tell me about the sizes of these rooms and the balcony? I would greatly appreciate it.

In case you wanted it broken down further:

Cabin 10048 - Cabin Interior 191.8 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 167.6 sq ft living space). Balcony is 42.0 sq ft. This cabin should have a double sofa bed.

And not trying to counteract riclop but the inside cabins on Deck 11 are 138 sq ft. Yours is the same size as the cabins that hold four on Deck 10.

Cabin 10050 - Cabin Interior 169.1 sq ft (24.2 sq ft bathroom + 144.9 sq ft living space).

I do have a listing of EVERY cabin onboard the Divina (actually two different ones) that were correct when she came over. Things may have changed since, though not probable. Unfortunately, mine only give square footage not dimensions. Pete (Skier52) does a much better job on that. :p

    Hope this helps!

  13. Thanks so much. Also thanks to the "grammar police" for not jumping on my spelling of "for" :) Are the prices listed somewhere on MSC website? They are still showing the Western Carib for those dates. We would want the Yacht Club again.

No prices officially published yet but the tentative price for a YC1 is $2,029pp plus taxes of $118.42.

  15. Just for reference, the 'plastic chairs' are designed by Philippe Starck for Kartell, the red tops $760 each the round top 'crystal ghosts' $450. The latter are considered a design classic.

I really wish MSC would spread the word about the high end European design of Eataly. It drives me nuts when I hear about "those cheap plastic chairs". Anyone can Google Louis Ghost Chair (in Ristorante Italia) or Kartell Hi Cut Chair (the main Eataly area) to read more about them.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Bret

  16. Where did you hear this from? I'd be interested in that trip.

I actually have it in writing from MSC as I am thinking of doing a group cruise on that date. If I remember correctly, prices start at $669 so significantly higher than what they are getting for the Caribbean. I'll post more when I get an exact itinerary or more info.

    Bret

  17. Glad to see that the Divina will be expanding her itinerary offerings in 2015. Though the US web site still shows April 11, 2015 as a Western Caribbean (and the reservations department still shows it that way if you call), it supposedly has been replaced with a Bermuda itinerary. I hope to the see the actual itinerary this week.

Think this is a great idea for Divina fans that have done the Caribbean too many times!

    Bret

  18. The place just has no atmosphere along with plastic chairs.

The atmosphere surely is not what we expect when we think steakhouse or alternative dining. That being said, MSC did not have much latitude in the decor. Once they signed an agreement with Eataly, whose restaurants in Chicago and New York are similar in appearance, their hands were somewhat tied on creative control.

I think the old adage "don't judge a book by its cover" applies here. Does a $25 steak really taste better just because of linen tablecloths, comfy seats and white glove service? Me thinks not. But to each their own.

  19. So.... I have an upcoming cruise on MSC Divina in August. When online today to check on this specialty dining package.... Can't find it. Perhaps the special is no longer available.

Not sure why it is not showing for you. You may have to call them (or your TA if you used one) and ask for Special Service Code 780W14. I don't see it listed either but I didn't find it on the regular Specialty Dining Packages page previously.

    Hope this helps.

  20. How far in advance do you think GTY cabins are assigned?

Unfortunately lately, due to some of the extremely low price points and the ship filling up, I've seen GTY cabins not be assigned till the week prior to sailing. Not saying it will be this way in your case, just letting you know not to panic. It's been this way the past month or so for certain categories on certain sailings. Good news is that from what we have seen, the closer to sailing the better chance of being assigned a balcony.

    Hope this helps.
