So sorry for what happened to you. I didn't read how you hurt your arm. Could it have happened when that man tripped you?

I got off the NS on Nov 5th. My travel partner and I never had covid before and were up to date with all vaccines and boosters. The next to last day we both started to get cold symptoms in the evening. Tested ourselves the last day and were positive. We stayed in the room after that and wore our masks off the ship. We stayed in a hotel for 3 nights because we didn't want to bring it home to the family. Still feel crappy. I have a cruise booked in Feb. that I will most likely cancel. It's just not worth worrying about and going through it gain. I wish I wore my mask and especially on the elevator. Some lady sneezed and coughed the very first day on a full elevator and didn't cover up. I wonder if that is who gave it to us. We will never know.

Hopefully my neighbor will come through to get us a water cannon salute from a tug boat. He retired full time earlier this year as a tug boat captain in Port Everglades. He actually worked yesterday. I love it when the tug boats spray the water cannons. I'm leaving on the Nieuw Statendam Saturday.

That is interesting that they don’t ask if you had a fever or diarrhea to see if you have norovirus. I know pre-pandemic many cruise lines would ask you health questions. If you have cruised HAL since the restart, did they ask you any health questions at the pier?
This is my first since covid. I was surprised they didn't ask about diarrhea or norovirus.

Specifically, what is on the HAL health assessment form that will be available within 72 hours of check-in?
We haven't cruised since 2020, so haven't seen it.
Thank you in advance.
I just did mine. They ask if you had covid in the last 7 days. That's it.

As Roger tersely said, this is a NO. Any drink above your package limit ($11 for Signature and $15 for Elite) is paid for in full plus 18% service charge. The Westerdam AKA Testerdam did trial an "HIA and More" program in Alaska this summer allowing payment of just the overage plus 18%. There has been no report of this going fleet-wide.
Someone on FB group said that it will be going fleet-wide 11/1. I board NS this Saturday so I can find out if it is true.

Thanks Dave! I was able to get the Club Orange and upgraded from my previous F cabin to a CQ cabin for $275 ($25pp/day). I think that is well worth it for the upgrade alone.
F category is a family suite and you get an extra shower and sink with it.

I don't agree with his review. Granted, he went during the week and it was a lot quieter. I was on 7/29 cruise and it was hopping. They said 1600 people on board. I was hoping for less people really. He admits the food was good and it was.

Oh, Bagus really appreciated that he was mentioned as being good on Cruise Critic. He got a kick out of that, so if you are sailing soon, find him and mention you read about him on Cruise Critic.

I just came back Sunday and the show starts at 8 PM both evenings if anyone wants to know. Also, someone mentioned Bagus the bartender being very good. He was at the License to Chill bar the first day and I found him in the Oasis lounge the second day. He makes strong drinks and is very nice. Actually all the drinks were strong. The margaritas were made with Patron.

What time does it start? Thanks!

Remember that HAL is on Pacific time - so things often come out later in the day.
Good point!

PCC says a new batch of Casino offers will be released on July 12. I guess there is a slot tourney on the Rotterdam on the 11-30-22 sailing but I didn't get an invite for it.

I checked today to see if there are new casino offers and I don't see any. Did anyone else see new offers today?

There definately is a capacity limit on these casino offers and it may vary by category on the same cruise. Example, we recently booked a free cabin offer and at the same time had them upgrade us to a Neptune for a very attractive price. A couple of days later I looked again at that sailing and while it still showed the Verandah cabin for free (basically $200), the Neptunes were now double what I paid!
Thank you.

Keep - i do not believe YOU are removed once you book something; however, once all the rooms are booked under the offer ( by you and/or others) they are no longer available and get removed from the website. I too booked one of the offers and until earlier this week, i could see continue availability on line ( Seeing the $200 pricing in my case). As of today, the ones i was looking at ( carribean and Panama) are no longer showing.
Maybe there will be a new offer ..................
Thank you.

I have a question about casino offers. I booked a fall cruise a couple of weeks ago under the offer. I wanted to book another fall cruise and they are all gone. Do they remove them from you once you book one? Anyone else not seeing the offers for the fall Caribbean cruises now?
-
Thanks for your review @ALWAYS CRUZIN. I have a cruise booked end of July. I'm not too thrilled about the increase in charges and the fuel surcharge.

In my experience, the FREE cabin offers do not qualify, but cruises booked with casino discount rate (like 20% off) do. Recently I submitted two requests at the same time and the discounted rate one was accepted while the free cabin one was rejected.
Thanks for the information. I booked a balcony cabin and it wasn't free, but discounted. I'll see if they accept that.

The shareholder credit is still there. Just be aware that if you get casino offers, the shareholder credit can't be used. There are different levels of casino offers too and some do qualify for the shareholder credit. Just something to be aware of.
How do you know which casino level qualifies for the shareholder OBC? Thanks

If you have Easy Plus drink package and you win a bid to the Yacht Club, is your drink package upgraded to premium package? Thanks
