  1. I heard though the grapevine "some amazing changes to Celebrity fleet" being announced middle of this week!

    I'm excited to hear.:D

    Any guesses?

My guess would be that after the Azamara twins are stripped to the metal and totally modernized (early 2016), they will join the Celebrity fleet. I HOPE this is the case. ;)

Yikes... I know Azamara is expanding.. but not in that way

  2. X has amended many prouncements regarding meal service in Luminae. I would hope that this statement is not set in stone.

If it is, it would be nice to be informed of the current policy of each ship.

Edit: As I re-read your remark, you only mention the start time for breakfast. I was asking about the policy for a three meal service in Luminae.

Lunch and dinner remains the same on all ships..it was just the Breakfast time that was not consistent...

I'm sure they're working on it ( hopefully) per Celebrity Cruises post on this board... I pointed out the absurdity of the inconsistency :D

  3. Thank you!

However, your response brings to mind another question. Will breakfast, lunch and dinner be the standard policy in Luminae on all ships in the fleet? Or is this ship specific?

Per Dondra Ritzenthaler it's ship specific.... so it's up the on board team when to start serving breakfast

    Don't shoot the messenger...:D

  4. The issue here isn't that there aren't alternatives for every meal......the issue is that the CEO of Celebrity clearly stated that their advertising of breakfast lunch and dinner would be implemented on all ships. That was months ago.

One easily can start to wonder about the CEO's credibility....or perhaps whether they know what's happening in their company. My guess is she doesn't know...and it will be very quickly fixed...but I've been wrong many times. At a minimum, the recent phantom, "Celebrity cruises", could help here.

You no read my post you not understand... Not unusual.. happens in a lot of co's... I know I've worked in CA...

  5. Sounds like the Eclipse doesn't work for the Celebrity Cruise line managed by Lisa Lutoff-Perlo or she is unaware that her statements here are not being followed on the ship......or she doesn't care.

I suggest that "Celebrity Cruises" get involved in this one to either tell us of a change in policy or to tell Ms Lutoff-Perlo that she is being ignored by her staff and the ships (probably not a good thing for a CEO).

Ms Lutoff- Perlo absolutely does Care ! It's always been like on most cruise line co's. What is done on land (Corporate America) is not implemented/communicated to on board operations.

Eventually it works itself out but in the mean time..its a Charlie fox trot

  6. THANK YOU!!!

I'm rather shocked at some of these rude kid-hater posts. (Please note I said SOME rude not ALL rude). Most cruise lines are realizing that Family-Friendly is the way of the future. That Multi-generational vacations are the new norm. Disney is a great cruise line but the price is too high for some. Celebrity is cashing in with their good prices and kid programs. Looks like some people will have to live with having kids on their ship. If not, there are truly ADULT ONLY cruise lines...P&O cruises or Saga Holidays to name a couple. While you're telling us to try DCL with our kids, maybe you should try them.

If you have been on CC as long as I have I'm not surprised. Actually, RCCL corp which falls under X has long been a company dedicated to everyone of every generation to enjoy their cruise experience. They want the parents as much as the children and grandparents to enjoy !!!!

Happy Children are happy Parents who have $ and will re book... :D

  7. they have a kids club.. of course busier when school is out.. they have pools for families but do have an adults only solarium w pool and Jacuzzis...

Check out the deck plan to see what is kid friendly and not...and they will be accommodating to children in the dining room.

I think Celebrity is a fit for children if they're well traveled. then it should be no problem :D

  8. CBS has a story about Captain Kate making history as the first American female captain of a cruise ship. We were honored to dine with her and her husband at her first captain's table on our current cruise. What an awesome time and experience. Pictures to follow when we get home.

Wow.. sounds great. Can't wait to see the pics.

I watched the interview from CBS.. so inspiring :)

  9. The Silhouette menus on that site are ancient. (I'm not sure exactly how old, but they mention Jacques van Staden, and was with Celebrity from 2009 to 2012.) Celebrity's menus are the same across ships and change very gradually over time, but they do vary somewhat by region. Since the Silhouette is in Europe, these menus from a Spain and Canary islands cruise last winter will probably be fairly close: http://www.thepreismans.com/spain14_menus.htm#dining.

Thanks.. I find that the menus are different in European sailings than the Caribbean.. we're going out in November on a Caribbean sailing.

  10. Just serves an another irritant to the cruiser.

Can't be a great new revenue producer. Maybe it serves as a deterrent to late night room service.

I just don't think it fit's the X brand... my STBX would just like a glass a milk or a light snack.. it would be more midnight or 1....

11 is too early to be charging...IMHO

  11. I made the mistake to visit that page and review the menu's...I just ate, but am now craving some of the dishes I had on our last cruise...

I did notice that the menu's are not 100% the same as what we had a couple of weeks ago on Eclipse...Especially the topchef menu was different (had a pasta entree as well which is not on the website).

Per chance do U have a copy of the menus? The Preisman's don't seem to have a 2015 S class menu for the Caribbean...

I know the top chef one's would be different but the other days would be the same... I did the top chef last yr.. good time :D

    Thanks
