  1. Day Five : Key West

    In Short Summary

We LOVED every minute of that cruise and it almost brings tears to my eyes when I think its over. Nice to have a future cruise booked indeed! I learned that in no way whatsoever that what is said on these boards hold true for everyone. I learned a great many things from these boards prior to this cruise and am sooooo grateful to all of you who helped me. There are many happy people wanting nothing to do but help, and I can’t thank you enough for that. But there are a few complaining and wanting to bring you down to their miserable level. Don’t fall for it and don’t believe it! Go and enjoy every minute of your cruise. Make it what you want it to be. The crew and staff on board the Connie were just fabulous and willing to do just about anything they can to make your trip wonderful. If you come across one you don’t care for, then move on to the next place, because they will be better at the next place! If you try something you don’t care for then order something else because it will be better than the last. If you meet someone who is complaining, kindly excuse yourself because why listen to it anyway! Go out and ENJOY! We certainly DID!

That was a wonderful and refreshing review. I really appreciated your insights and positive notes. So glad that u and your family had a nice time and enjoy cruising.

It's been so long since my first cruise it's great to get a fresh perspective.

  2. Just sailed on the Infinity in AQ and was able to easily change the canapés to a cheese plate which came every day with a few grapes and no crackers or bread. When we asked the cabin steward, he brought us an already opened box of Carr's crackers and told us to hide it.

NO WAY... I don't know if that's hysterical or pathetic:eek::D

  3. exactly right.

One week we get a new thread something like "when is azamara going to have another good promotion?" then, when they announce one, the chicken little's here use it as a reason to predict azamara's imminent demise.

It's called marketing. I get a brochure every week in the newspaper with procter & gamble specials, yet no one runs to the internet predicting p&g's demise.

    lol... :D

  4. My TA said that is the best Azamara promo he's seen(although not as good as our first last minute cruise we booked)...maybe I should look at 2015 cruises now...although I really don't like booking that far ahead. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

I really wonder if the current promo is going to increase bookings.

    Yup agreed .. now that's a promo..:D

I guess I should look so I can w/ hubby this time

  5. Awww, curiouscat, don't be such a sourpuss. Can't you see the humor Azamara is showing us with this promotion? Why, you and your mother could be Poster Children for it and get the ball rolling. Don't you each have a sister and/or girlfriend you could stuff in your cabin with you? C'mon now. Azamara's treat. They'd go for free. Do it for the Azamara forum! :D

LOL... listen even my mom and I could kill each other in those bathrooms. She is miss "diva" from NY..:p

The funny thing is early in the '80's I took my first cruise on a royal Caribbean ship with 4 of us in an inside cabin. !!! How I ever wanted to take another cruise after that is a wonder ! I guess I was young and crazy!

  6. Looking at the prices that people pay for those suites they do deserve more perks. I couldn't or would not want to pay that much for a cruise. Even taking a regular balcony and adding in for the extra cost of the premium packages and extra dining I couldn't justify the price difference.

I wonder how long before they convert the Solarium pool to suite guests only?

    🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅🍸🍻

NO.. they will not be making the solarium exclusive for suite guests.

At night they are going to have entertainment reserved for 21 and older. Sort of cirque du soleil around and in the pool. Looks really cool IMHO. :p

  7. Congratulations on your upgrade. Enjoy!

Curious, did you book through Azamara or a TA?

I am happy with the promo we booked but an upgrade would be very nice.

I booked thru a TA and she didn't even know about the upgrade. I think it's a combo of price we paid, timing and luck of the draw.

  8. Life has been so busy I hadn't checked our reservation in a while.. just did and found out we got upgraded to a Club Continent Suite.. I am soooo Psyched !!!

  9. I really don't want to stir the pot on here but X has not answered my question so here I go...

Since the new Suite Amenity program will be rolled out 4/15 and one of the "Perks" is a Suite only restaurant. Will they convert and use BLU for this? Will Aqua class still be have access to BLU?

So if NOT then where is this new Suite restaurant????

Any insiders in the KNOW ???

  10. I thought I'd seen somewhere that the conversion of Michael's Club to a VIP lounge wasn't going to be fleet-wide until April of 2015.

Anyone know the status on the Constellation? This is only our second sailing with Celebrity but we are in the PH.

You are correct... April 2015 new suite amenity program will be fleet wide and Michaels will be converted to Suite VIP club...

That may be what it says on paper but it definitely wasn't our experience on the two ships.

As I said it was the exact opposite.

My point in all of this is to find out if Celebrity is slowly cutting back and to let them know that it's noticed and is not ok!

I could find if X cut crew(but I doubt it) but it also could be due to management. Just like going to the same chain restaurant and the service varied.

The crew/management on Eclipse may have had some holes vs other X ships... we haven't been on X in quite a while.

I'm off to Azamara soon, looking for the small ship experience where the pax to crew ratio is high.

If you price out Azamara and it's inclusions it comes out to the same as on Princess or X especially if you stay in a suite.
