I’d think the age difference of the two ships might be the root of the problem. The Constellation probably does not have the same capabilities in their electronic makeup as the newer Reflection. Just keep checking your November cruises and the information will pop up as soon as X can get the information loaded into the app.

Timing for check ins have changed dramatically in these early days of resumed cruising. My August 27 trip on Equinox did not allow Check in until only 25 days beforehand.

Glad to hear the Equinox had the craps table at $10. The land based casino closest to me started at $15. Am so looking forward to being on August 27, 9 night trip.

You also have to remember that if you have the CDP you still can order anything and just pay the difference +tip, usually just a few $.  I’ve done that on all of my X cruises and never ended up paying what the PDP would have cost me. Sometimes, I’ve not even been charged the difference (servers were really busy or couldn’t get to the register).

My situation is probably different from most. For years my DH & I sailed on M and S ships loving all of our X trips. The S ships have always been my favorite.

Now I am sailing solo. The E ships have the advantage of of having solo, though smaller cabins giving me a price break and allowing me to cruise longer and more frequently. While I really don’t care for the IV layout, being able to get the cabin at a solo price is a great advantage while also getting the smaller MDRs only found on S ships in Aqua or Suites. I’ll take the solo cabins on E ships and now sail mostly E & S ships when the price is affordable.

if you liked the S ships before, book them again and enjoy.

Following your adventures and hope to see you on the March 28th leg.  Coming from Knoxville (on Delta) is so much closer than your trips,  but so much more expensive but also don’t have all your lovely miles. 
Congrats on the move up to a RS. Hope that you get it for your third leg as well! 

Interested in knowing if all the ports allow the ship in and passengers off.

Even if you are in a non US disembarkation city you can still leave for the day. After you have your new sea pass cards you also get a Transit pass that allows exit and entry that day without going into embarkation lines.

Remember to empty your safe in the first cabin and you have to move those things yourself. Also since each cruise is a separate trip, you need to use up OBC and internet minutes - they do not carry over to second trip.

Enjoy your sea day. Better safe than sorry. I’m on the Mar.28 cruise and planned to make that stop a stay on board day anyway.  Maybe there will be more activities planned. 

The flowers do stay on board!  I guess it’s just a long standing tradition of having flowers in the cabin, left over from when cruising was just transportation.  They do give the room a lovely fresh smell.  

I’ve still gotten Captains Club single flowers recently.  
I love carrying flowers on board even thru embarkation.  Always a conversation starter.  The best place to do this was going out of Seattle to Alaska, making a special stop at Pike Place for them.

My next cruises will be out of FLL- anyone know how far it would be from the port to get to a Publix or florist?

Thanks for the ship info. In 30 X cruises, I’ve never been on the Equinox, but will fix that at the end of March.  And then again with a B2B in June.

I still miss the Gourmet Bites offered in the casino late night.  And I really miss the dessert show and tell platter.  Ironically some of our local restaurants now do that while my favorite cruise line doesn’t think it’s appropriate.

i don’t miss the midnight buffet (way too much waste in food and effort), but I do miss the individual ice sculptures and food carvings.  They were very special.  

I started to cruise with X in 2003 (30 cruises) and do miss some of the many things others have mentioned but I really like enough of the newer additions to X to keep coming back.

I certainly agree with the idea of being given a list of possible requested items or services given out to everyone, or at least put it on the TV. New cruisers don’t know what is possible and it just might make them returning guests.

Call the Blue Chip Club and ask about redemption on the Edge, but don’t be surprised if they say no. 

You can always save them as an excuse to book another cruise on the Equinox.  It’ll be like a $50 discount!

You can also be waitlisted for the same room in case it becomes available due to cancellation. Ask whoever did your booking to get you on the list.  I’ve done B2Bs where I received notice very close to the sailings that I could stay in the first cabin. But changing rooms has never been a problem.

On change day, you can get off pretty early and do some sightseeing and get back in time for your 2nd muster drill. Very easy to get back on with no hassles.

Yes there is a daily.  But you might also check the Events board posted.  If anything gets added, it would be hand written there. Every ship sets it up in a different area. Check at GR.

Would going to the Events Coordinator help get some activities for singles?

I’d love to try the E class but only if it was “free”.  I know I’d miss a true balcony.

The Ms are great for itineraries and the Ss are my preference for the Caribbean.  

As much as I loved the Mercury and the Century, their level of service at Xs price is long gone.  Time marches on!

I just got bumped off of a cruise on the Equinox within 8 months.  X offered 3 other cruises to keep the price and the already booked perks.  They gave me 10 days to decide if I wanted to rebook.  I did and got extra OBC because of the current sale. Not a bad deal.  Where I lost was on my airfare.  X will cover the change fees but not the increased actual cost of the ticket.  I’ll just end up eating that.

This is the first time this has happened to me with X. I wish they would limit their charters to at least a year out. But I agree it’s better to do a whole ship charter than extra large charter groups mixed with regular passengers.

Just a reminder that you will have to attend the second muster drill, so if you leave the ship, you should get back in time for that.

Do not forget to use up any OBC from the first leg as you cannot use it on the second leg.

Loved our stay at the Jazz.  Top of the Ramblas, walking distance to lots of restaurants and the HOHO bus stop.  Good shopping at the H & M down the street. It has a nice restaurant, but we never used it. Check it out!

I’ve never had a problem getting a special item when the breakfast was plated. I like the almond croissants and the servers would just bring them whenever we sat down. The last day they would get a nice tip for the extra attention.  

Agree this was a great relaxing way to start the day. Just remember there’s no food served that is served warm. Our big choice in the morning was “hot or cold”.  If we wanted hot, we went to the MDR.

This is something you should discuss with BCC, both on discount and how their point systems work.

I am also Amethyst and you are not understanding the difference between tier points and free play points.

At this level you do not qualify for a free cruise yearly, just a percentage off of the price of a cruise. It says “annual cruise benefit “, not free cruise.  You might be offered a free room on an individual cruise, but that is not necessarily yearly. Very random.

I suggest you call BCC directly to get a better understanding of your perks.

Came off Infinity on February 14, made a 9:45am flight with plenty of time, but we did not check any bags, just used carry on for the 5 night cruise.  Also we did not have to go thru Immigration having done that the day before in Key West. Those two factors really helped our timing.  Keep that in mind.

Interesting that Select dining is on Deck 4-I guess the amount of guests now require the larger space.

I’m wondering if the MDR is open for breakfast. Breakfast is not listed on the daily listing.

Hope our cabins are in good shape! Haven’t been on the Infinity in 2 years and it’s been a lot longer since I’ve taken this short of a cruise.  Just getting really excited to cruise again.
