OK, so I did a little more guessing here.

Carnival states that they sail full every sailing. ( I know BS) but lets say it's true. I came up with 66,400 people sailing everyday.(I know that ships will be in dry and other things will happen) I would guess that 25 to 30% (This might be a little high) of passengers buy cheers. (again a total guess) That means at 25%, everyday there is 16,600 people on cheers a cross the fleet and 30% it would be 19,920. So with that in mind the daily take on the 2 dollar raise in cheers would be at 25% $33,200.00 a day and $12,118,000.00 per year at 30% it would be $39,840.00 per day and $14,541,600.00. Not bad for just a $2.00 a day raise. This is only for Carnival line I don't know if any other lines are raising prices.

I believe the pricing is going up or has very recently increased for Princess as well. At the minimum, Princess is beginning to institute a 15 drink maximum just like Carnival.

There was the time in Nassau our tour guide was arrested in the middle of the tour followed by a riot then breaking out near the straw market after a vendor punched the police officer arresting her. This was a Carnival ship sponsored Segway excursion.

Not exactly the worst excursion but that memory stands out.

I am confused. And feel so stupid.

 

1. Some say I could have put myself, husband and youngest son in the triple cabin and our 2 teens (16 & 19) in the connecting cabin? Even though neither is 21 years old?

 

2. Some said this would have taken care of the priority boarding issue and some say no?

 

3. This late in the game it cannot be switched anyways correct?

 

4. YES I will use a PVP in the future. And develop a relationship with what I hope is a good PVP.

I never book myself. I’ve used the same TA for over 13 years. I decide on the cruise and give him a short list of preferred cabins. He books them for us. And somehow we have never had any issues and reached platinum as loyal CCL cruises.

Though he has started trying to get me to go with other cruise lines but I don’t unless others are sailing with us and its a group decision.

 

I blame myself and am angry at myself. It is not the end of the world. Lesson learned!

1. That would have been allowed.

2. Both would have received priority boarding.

3. Most likely but you can ask while expecting the answer is no, especially if you booked Early Saver. Name changes aren’t an issue once onboard.

4. I always just call the 800 number for the cruise line I reserve with or book online. I’ve found that my PVPs are always unavailable when I want to book so I stopped trying.

That was my plan for the bags. But the check in I was told would be fine since we’re traveling together. Oh well. Thank you! [emoji1303]

At one point, anyone checking in with you was able to join you for priority boarding as long as your credit card was used for incidentals. They closed that loophole due to abuse.

One stateroom will be ready and you can have all of your luggage sent to that room. You can try asking nicely at the port when your boarding zone is called to see if an exception could be made and have them board with you but don’t count on it. Your mileage may vary.

Mind you Bliss will be designed specifically for Alaska where as most aren't. Is Quantum Class built for cold weather? I'm assuming so. But more to the point Splendor will probably sail Alaska, even though she isn't designed for the cold, since she doesn't have a cover over one of her pools.

Royal Princess will be sailing Alaska without a covered pool.

for those following alongwith my 1000 questions and other uncertainties: for the past day the websiteshowed only singles available at the casino rate. i emailed the nice TA fromprincess that had emailed me before. she said there's some glitch and that manydoubles are left. so she pressed some buttons and got us in a dirt cheap obstbalc and WE ARE GOING ON A CRUISE!!!!!

 

also i follow princess airfares pretty much hourly during theday. turns out the exact perfect flights at a very good price became availableand we got the last 2 seats!!!! bought the platinum plan in case of snow so ithink we are covered.

 

i'm ecstatic beyond belief. didnt think id get back on regalagain so soon..and i havent flown in 20 years and i hear you gotta pay for thebathroom and take off your shoes or whatever but thats ok.

 

 

moral of the story: play a few bucks the slots even if you hategambling, you can get some realllllly good rates. i'm proof of this.

Carnival has the most ships and that number is growing, would love to see them get creative with these.

Some of those Fantasy Class ships can’t keep sailing with the Carnival flag forever, Jimbo. They may have the most ships now but that number can always decrease as ships are retired.
