If I have trouble sleeping, I may try to digest more, but this item stood out..

However, the effect of vaccination on viral load in COVID-19 post-vaccination infections is currently unknown8

And I have a few more studies to help you sleep.  I have one since that one that says the viral load is between 1.6 to 20 times less than an unvax patient.

So my point is simply they havent found one yet BUT I believe they will eventually.  It will be rare.

Not sure if you are just feeding the troll, but there are indeed already thousands of confirmed breakthrough cases:

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/19/cdc-says-there-have-been-less-than-6000-breakthrough-covid-cases-among-fully-vaccinated-americans.html

not the breakthrough cases,  Those are a fact.. was referring to vaccinated people shedding the virus.  I see I wasn't clear as I wanted to be.  I dont feed trolls,  I attempt to simply carry on simple conversations and debate a bit.

There is proof that fully vaccinated people can catch the disease, some require hospitalization and some die. I don't need assets wasted on a study to prove the obvious, that they can shed virus, when the pandemic is waving again.

Obvious?  So far all the experts have found zero cases.  I am not saying they wont eventually find one but it is going to be rare.

Therein lies a very large part of the problem, is that the media is reporting Fauci's statements as gospel....and it hasn't been the whole truth since day one of Covid.

Well, I totally respect your opinion and your decision.  But if I may, one piece of advice.  Forget what all the MSM feeds you, no matter which side you listen to.  But always , always seek the truth, and look for it where you can trust it.  I took the vaccine for my reasons and they are mine and mine only. And you do what you need to do for you and yours.

I have been vaccinated.  But I don't walk in your shoes and certainly do not denigrate those that choose not to be vaccinated.  Heck, there are several medical reasons NOT to get this vaccine.  WHat I don't like is having my freedoms curtailed because others choose differently.  I resent having to cloister in my house, waiting for this "herd immunity" that Fauci now says will never be attained.

TOTALLY with you on that one.  He kind of ticks me off as he shares only parts of the truth.  And I Know he has to know better.  When they say that a certain percentage of peoplel HAVE to be vaccinated to achieve H I then they are blowing smoke.  If there wasn't a vaccine, the only way to get it would be for people to catch it and recover from it and that would require a LOT more deaths on the roll.  The vaccine adds to that group of recoveries and the numbers then get much more robust without the huge number of deaths.  Trouble is, we have to get a total between recovered and vaccinated to  a point where there isnt a crisis.  We dont need everyone in the world to step forward, but we need enough.

To each his or her own. We shouldn't have to relocate to a more accepting place to enhance our viewpoints. I just can't understand why there are still American Citizens who refuse to comply. These are well trained Medical Experts that totally have our safety at heart. What would they gain by publishing false rhetoric? Maybe this may sound morbid or off-putting but let's pray that we don't have to wait until Covid strikes "home" to become believers. Wouldn't wish that scenario on anyone.

Actually we are having a down turn in vaccine demand across the country.  I have been tracking this herd immunity concept and as states get closer the demand drops off and it becomes more like watching grass grow.  I thought for sure we could at least get to a 60 percent vaccine rate.

I'm not so sure about that anymore after reading these two pieces today about the difference between antibody response from those who've had covid vs those who have been vaccinated. Even the leading scientist, who help delveop the vaccine, now says that we will need a third booster within twelve months of being fully vaccinated as the protection will wane over time. Couple these two pieces together with the fact that a lot of folks don't want to get vaccinated and it may be much longer than a year or two. There is also the real possibility that vaccines may be required for cruising based on this information.

Article on difference of antibody response: https://www.news-medical.net/news/20210421/Antibody-response-induced-by-mRNA-vaccination-differs-from-natural-SARS-CoV-2-infection.aspx

Scientist who helped develop mRNA vaccine saying we will need boosters: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/04/21/scientist-who-helped-develop-pfizer-biontech-covid-vaccine-agrees-third-shot-is-needed-as-immunity-wanes.html

I fully expected boosters will be needed and not just one and done.  THere will be booster offered over the years.  I have the vaccine and I am in favor of people getting the shot. I am still looking for solid evidence as to what the natural immunity will be after a person has been infected.  It would be illogical to assume there isnt some level of natural protection.

And thanks for the link that was very interesting .  I enjoyed it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'd be the first in line to book with the line that didn't require vaccines or masks or tests.

Well I think many of us would love that also.  Trouble is the

reality is , it aint going to happen soon.  Not sure how long these things will be required but one day they will all go away.  Just not today.

I have one in sept and I aint so sure it will be sailing.    A b2b in november is more possible.  I hope your cruise sails and you have a good time.  P.S.  I drove thru Rockwall earlier this month.  Busy town.

Not as of yet my friend. It's actually ok to be a bit of both of a Cruise and Astro "Nut". Who knows we might just find evidence of a prehistoric/futuristic "Carnival Ship" in that Red Horizon Beyond!!!

Out Trek Fans will agree with me Right???

hey cruise the solar system in 10 days, on the beautiful Carnival Speculation!!  lol ok I am done. I am WAYYYYY off topic.

I truly believe in Science and it's entry way into life being. My question is "Will The Carnival Cruise Nuts Survive a Stint on Mars?" With the latest progress via the Mars Mission we all could potentially be reclassified from "American Citizens" to "Martian Inhabitants"????

That is "Real Science" and maybe not too far from reality. Spock are you Listening?

LOL I am a cruise nut, not a astro nut.  Anyhow there are no watery oceans on Mars.

So, you're saying that it's inconceivable that I, or anyone one else posting on a message board, might be "smarter" than some given doctor?

I can assure you that some doctors are idiots - just like some politicians - and just like some of, say, any profession you can name!

That's all I have to say about that  😄

    Tom

But no one from this message board knows the details of a given patient and what is best for this specific patient.  Some doctors are not as good as others for sure but each person selects their doctor and deem if said doctor is an idiot.

This is what Carnival Cruise Nut do. Agree to Disagree and still remain loyal to the Cruising Cause. Onward and Upward.

Look I am a Cruise Nut, and I don't agree with everything posted.  But a person has a total right to their opinion.  I am open for discussion and enjoy the transfer of ideas.  But when people throw jabs in order to sting at the core of another it is going to far.  And all that does is end intelligent conversation and start a argument.  If a person finds they feel unsafe taking a job that is fine,  and if they are all in favor that is fine also.  But no one should feel they can dictate to other.  Now discuss the pros and cons is much more helpful.

Alter egos are sad, remember when the great WHO , TWEETED  in January there is no evidence in China of human to human transmission of COVID..

I remember that and I remember Nancy saying come on down to China town, and Fauci sayin Feb 29 , there is nothing to worry about and Biden yelling that Trump  was  Xenophobic for shutting down travel from china .  And me being a idiot believed them.

So you discount the 5800 documented cases of Covid caught well after the 2nd vaccine? Or are you saying that these people have less of a chance of infecting others because they have taken the vaccine? You people just keep parroting that the vaccine should be taken for the good of all with no evidence that it is actually having an impact. The Covid numbers likely would have been dropping by now with no vaccine at all.

With all respect, there is evidence.   Jump over and look at Israel.   They have about a 66 percent herd immunity, and running about a ,71 infection rate which is real good.  The new cases continue to drop along with hospitalization and deaths . Percentage of positive tests are only 0.3 .  It is working like gang busters there. And they arent even to 70 percent yet.  The jabs have slowed way down in the past week and I think they are now having a lot of resistance in the remaining population.

Someone who supports the vaccine, without emotion or politics please tell me why you think that a person should take it. Because I am struggling to see a benefit from the risk.

The vaccine does not prevent infection clearly.

    https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/14/health/breakthrough-infections-covid-vaccines-cdc/index.html

So let's assume it reduces infection. Well I already had Covid and never even knew it since my blood has antibodies, so my body appears to be good at handling the virus already.

Does it reduce mortality from infection? Well 74 of those 5800 people who caught Covid well after their 2nd dose are dead.

It does not prevent transmission either although they are studying if it reduces transmission.

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/fully-vaccinated-people.html

It does not stop me from getting it, it does not stop me from passing it on, it does not prevent mortality from the virus, and even if you think the risk small, taking the vaccine is a risk as people have died even according to the CDC. So please, without political agenda and emotion, why should I take it?

You have every right to decide either way.  I can't tell you why you should take the jab.  For me, I felt covid would kick my tushy and maybe have me start feeding worms.  I am 69, and in excellent health for someone my age. I got my physical in March and my Doc was pleased that I got the jab.

But wouldn't it be wisest to simply ask your Doctor?   he/she knows your health best, has a medical degree, and you obviously trust as you selected them as your doc.

As a critical thinker, it would make sense to me that if assiligo had already been previously infected with covid-19, and his body was able to easily handle the infection- One could then surmise that if he were to ever be infected again, even with one of the variants- that his body would again easily be able to handle the virus. So the point of how long the vaccine is effective would be moot, in my opinion.

Again, I'm just one man's opinion. Everyone is free to disagree. It won't hurt my feelings.

I would agree to a point.  But let me toss this out to you.  If assiligo only had a small dose of covid-19, thier body may have gotten ahead of it before it got bad.  What if the next dose was large?  Would the symptoms be stronger has thier body got ahead of it?  Just a thought.
