When in Canberra last week we were told by a chemist that Avomine was being discontinued.
When we returned home I phoned Sanofi Aventis the Australian distributor to find out what was going on.
They confirmed what the chemist told me.
There is stock left in some chemists but I will assume they will run out sometime soon.
Thankgoodness we found one chemist in Canberra with some supplies left as our local small town Chemist hasn't stocked it for a while.
Time to find a new sick sick tablet.
You may be able to order it online from another country. When we were in Australia we found a wonderful anti cough med - non prescription. We are in the USA and I order it online from Australia. The shipping is kinda spendy but not too bad when we order several boxes at a time. Just a thought.

Same here -- we always have taken the currency if where we were traveling.
We were in Canada for a week after our cruise. We cashed $50 USD into Canadian currency when we landed. We used credit cards everywhere and had $40 left after our week on Vancouver island. Don’t sweat it.

I have an approximately 5 by 7 flat crossbody purse that I bought onboard for $10. I use it to carry my iPhone that I use either for the kindle app to read or as a camera. I also carry chapstick, eye drops, Kleenex and my ship’s card.
In port I carry a small purse and add various necessities such as a camera.
We take a backpack for water bottles, snacks, sweatshirts, etc.

Before booking I would check on the availability of hotel rooms, rental cars and whatever necessary for the land part of your trip. I would also check airline reservations and the availability of private tours if they interest you.
We booked a couple of months ago and found lodging reservations in remote areas were a bit of a challenge. Everything else was easy to arrange.

Flip flops with a narrow cloth ribbon between the toes seem easiest to adjust to. Or just get cute sandals instead.

We have never prepaid. We just let it go to our cc on file and our onboard credit is subtracted. We usually leave some extra cash for any outstanding staff we interact with.

DH booked a carnival cruise 2 years ago for our family - 5 cabins - on the phone. He did not ask for trip insurance but when the email confirmations came it was added to all of them. He called back to cancel the insurance - we have insurance from our credit card provider - and asked for new email confirmations. The insurance charge was removed from 4 of the 5 cabins. He had to call back yet again to get the last insurance change removed.
So, yes, insurance may be added without your requesting it.

years ago my ds and i had eaten an apple and an orange on our lufthansa flight from germany to lax. the flight attendant never came around to pick up trash so i put the apple core and the orange peel in a baggy and stuffed it into my carry on and forgot about it. the fruit smelling beagle found it so i got it out. everyone cracked up including the customs agent who told me to throw it away, which i did. i don't think things are that casual anymore. :(

i always assumed that the reason the cruise lines had the dsc as a separate item was some sort of financial/tax advantage to them.

i would look on amazon and read the reviews which seem favorable. they are spendy so see what other folks have to say.

we have never done a ship's excursion - not even on our first cruise - and we have done maybe 5 private tours. the other 100+ port stops we planned what we wanted to do and see in advance, and either grabbed a cab, used public transportation or simply walked. we've never been back to the ship with less than an hour to spare.
do what ever feels comfortable for you.

We walked thru the port area and rented a golf cart from a local vendor. We drove all over the island and saw local sights and deserted beaches. We even found a long abandoned resort. Fun day!

You might choose a night flight and ask your doc for a script for sleeping pills. They work wonders for me.

anything goretex (breathable) that says "waterproof" and not "water resistant".

possibly the ring owner has no idea he left the ring on the ship. maybe he thinks he left it at a hotel, on an excursion, lost it at home, etc.
i think the odds of the owner and the ring getting back together, no matter what the op did, are extremely low.

We took the ferry to Anguilla. When we landed in Anguilla there were lots of cabs offering tours.

We took the local train to Montpellier and explored the city, took the train back, and watched a jousting match on one of the sete canals, and then took a cab to the highest point in the city for a great view and a geocache. Fun and busy day.

We met folks on a cruise that bought small bottles of hot sauce all over the world. Kind of an interesting hobby for them!

Maybe the person who wanted the alcohol removed is in recovery and didn’t want temptation around. If the mini fridge was stocked with chocolate, I would want the chocolate removed!!

I’m confused. You have an overnight on board your ship before you leave Venice. You can leave your ship any time that morning so I see it as a non issue?

When we need to leave the ship early, we always shower the night before.

You can ask your doc for a script for a sleep aid. Or you can try Dramamine or benedryl.

Some of the airline mileage cards that you pay extra for, carry basic travel insurance (not medical insurance). We have a chase united airlines explorer card and when our granddaughter had an emergency appendectomy a week before our cruise, the insurance on the card paid us her and her parent’s fares.
We pay $100 a year for the card and we received about $2700 back - a darn good benefit.
Just be sure you know what the credit card insurance will and will not cover.

Same day golf cart rental?
in Grand Turk
Posted
we rented a golf cart on the spur of the moment from some guy holding up a sign. we added some gas since it was low but it was only a couple of bucks. had a great time seeing some unusual sights.
