Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Unfortunately, I haven't seen the bread bowls on my last few cruises. On my last cruise, I asked if it was possible, and they told me that they didn't do that anymore because so many people were not eating the bread. Guess they saw it as a waste. I wish it were an option that you could choose from. =(
  2. Personal Opinion: I would not suggest the Luminosa. We had so many issues on that ship, from sewage backing up into the rooms/common areas, no ice (and the buckets they did put out - kids were putting their hands in), they closed the main pool for 4 of the 7-day cruise (to Alaska) and let all the kids come into Serenity and use that pool, food options were not great, and MDR was the worst I have had on a cruise. That is just to name a few things. Could all of this have been fixed since my cruise a few months ago? Sure. But my family and I will not chance it. I have not been on Spirit yet, but I have heard some great reviews! (Our personal favorite ship to go to Alaska is Miracle.) Despite all the negatives of the ship, the views were stunning, the ports were fun, and Alaska is one of the best cruises you will probably ever experience if you are a nature person. If you go in September, you can watch the Salmon run, and there is a very, very slight possibility you may see the northern lights. 🙂
  3. I have ordered them with butter instead of mayo and they made it for me on several ships. I hope that gives you another option for your next cruise. 🙂 I hate that they no longer do the chowder in a bread bowl though. I loved those!!!
  4. Last day: Had a Buffet breakfast that was ok and enjoyed 2 last Mochas at Java Blue. We had them take our luggage and did a late walk off cause who likes to leave the ship? Getting off the ship was fine. It went pretty smoothly, and it was fairly organized. They had no mint the entire cruise. Nowhere. It was very sad. We were in Deck 7 and there was a loud engine noise the whole trip. We have never heard it like this before, so something to take note of. (We were mid ship) A friend who was staying on 4 aft woke up to an intense sewer smell on day 4. It cleared out by the evening but she said it was BAD! This cruise did not seem understaffed! That is the first time I can say that since it started back up. You could tell some of them were new but everyone was doing a fine job! Casino, sometimes the servers were everywhere and other times they were nowhere to be found. We had to ask for a drink after sitting at a table for over an hour and it still took them a while to find someone and a while to get the drinks. This seems to be a regular thing though. No one hit it big but it was always full and lively! Let me know if you have any questions.
  5. Day 5: Endanada - Friend was feeling better so we got off the ship to find some food. We did. It was pretty good. For the smokers, they put out the “No Smoking! Bunkering in Progress” signs as soon as we docked and they were out until we left. People were not happy. Especially the smokers who stayed on the ship. One couple was telling us that they would get off the ship, walk a few feet away, sit on the dock and smoke a cigarette or 2 then walk right back on. So you can smoke closer to where they are bunkering but not on a ship that can contain the ashes…. Ok. 6. Day 4: Another Day to GAMBLE!!! I mean… Day at Sea. My bestie wasn’t feeling too well today so I did a lot of reading, gambling, and drinking. Elevators were kinda fritzy starting today. Numbers not always lighting up, the screen on some of them telling you what floor you were on floors were not working, This carried on until we got off the ship. 7. Day 3: Cabo! Walked around (been there a few times, mainly got off the ship cause my bestie really wanted to check out DI, and they saw her coming!) Seems some people loved the stop and others didn’t. Temp was a nice 80ish with a slight breeze. We did check out the show tonight, but I have to admit, we were not impressed. The leads were not good. I am not sure if they were making out and both got sick or if they just couldn’t hold notes very well but we chose to not see the other show they were putting on cause… well…. No. =( Here is the Menu for Day 3 and the Fun Times: IMG_3030.heic IMG_3029.heic IMG_3028.heic IMG_3027.heic IMG_3026.heic IMG_3020.heic IMG_3010.heic IMG_3007.heic
  8. Ok, Not sure why is it asking you to download the pics... Any suggestions I will take to get these all on. 🙃 Day 2: Day at Sea - I will admit, this day was made for Gambling. Nothing to see here. (Well, I may have done a pub crawl with my new friends… 😃 ) Here is the Menu for Day 2 and the Fun Times: IMG_3004.heic IMG_3623.heic IMG_3622.heic
  9. Here is my inside room. (It was just me in the room, so I didn’t need anything fancy) Enjoyed the Sail Away party, drank, and made new friends! 10. Here is my 5 day review of Carnival Miracle to Cabo and Ensenada Nov 7th - 12th 2023 Day 1 - Getting on the ship was quick and easy. We had an 11:00-11:30 check in, got there at about 11:10, only waited in line for about 5 minutes, they looked at our docs and we went right onto the ship! That walk takes forever! We did have to stop and do that picture thing that they do now but when people were paying attention it went quickly. Straight to Muster! The guy doing ours seemed like he was a bit confused but he got through it. There was one employee that had never done it before and someone in our group had to show him how to put on the life vest… He was in a different group. I would have gotten pictures if it was our group. First stop, Red Frog Pub. Tazia and James were working and ready for some fun! Unfortunately, they were out of mint so my reg first drink of the cruise was NOT a Ting Mojito. 🙁 She still served up a mean drink though! Went out and explored the ship! Who am I kidding, I have been on this ship a bunch (one of my favorites) it was actually time to see what I wanted to munch on then find the group I had been talking with online while waiting this the cruise. Decided on the buffet (Guys line was HUGE) and food was ok. Not amazing, not bad. Photos-001.zip
  11. The electrolytes will depend on the container. You are not allowed to bring on any drinks that are in plastic or glass, but a dropper should be fine. (They will take away water in any size container, pop in a bottle, etc. so it is best not to chance it.) There are a few other options she can pick up to ensure they get through: Hydration Drops (my friend swears by Buoy) or powdered electrolytes like Liquid IV. Maybe even a mix of a few things so she can carry some around in a purse/pocket and have some in the room. Enjoy your cruise!
  12. Looks like we have the same arrival time! 🙂 I normally check-in as soon as it goes live, but I am traveling with family that doesn't live near me so we had to coordinate our schedule... That meant 7 pm PST last night. I was shocked there was still 11:30-12 available. It was the earliest option and I jumped on it! See you in Seattle! (Our weather could be 65 degrees or it could be 90 by then. Bring some shorts just in case. 😉 )
  13. I wonder the same thing! Reading through all the things that they MAY be checking still does not constitute a reason for my friend to get some amazing offers while I get bad ones. It seems like all other cruise lines are very cut and dry. (You get this many points you are at this level and will get these types of offers) May I ask if you prefer any of these other cruise lines when it comes to offers?
  14. I contacted Players Club a few weeks ago when I was talking to my friend who barely gambles and found out her offers ($1000 OBC, free drinks everywhere, and free balcony rooms) were 100x better than my $100 OBC, free drinks in the casino, $100 pp interior rooms. I spend hours in the casino and thousands of dollars while she isn't that interested and only joins me for maybe an hour each day and plays $300 per cruise tops. Maybe it is time I start looking at other cruise lines.... It sounds like their programs are more straight forward and the offers may be better. (I am going to play in the casino either way, but seeing that some people get amazing offers while others get next to nothing with no rhyme or reason - or explanation - hasn't been sitting well with me.) Here was the response: Thank you for reaching out to Global Casino Services Team. Casino offers are sent solely at our discretion, based on criteria we do not disclose. Please remember, we do not ask our guests to play to a specific level in order to get a specific offer. 15. Do you have a PVP? I recently booked as a solo and asked what would happen if I added someone to the room. I was told that I locked in the price, and since I was already paying the port fees for 2 people, they would just add the $100 for the second person. (Casino offer as well.) I asked how quickly this needs to be decided and she said until I pay the final bill. Mine doesn't have a TBA on it... If you have a PVP try calling them. I have had much better service and answers with my PVP than any rep on the 800#. I hope you are able to get her added. 🤞
