Which is contrary to their statement that at least used to be in the daily that unattended items would be removed after 30 minutes. I'd have that daily and show it to them. If there was still pushback, I'd find a stripe and take it up a level.

Hopefully, I will not have to use my stripes when on the same sailing soon...

With a group of 13 most like to be at the pool (not me though) but have no issues hanging out at the pool for 35 minutes before moving things... of course asking pool staff where I could place them, especially if they are not.

I don't see passengers on Celebrity wearing shorts in the MDR but one poster insists that since they saw passengers on Royal Caribbean wearing shorts in the MDR at dinner that Celebrity would be almost the same. Then they posted they will do a survey. I have cruised many times on both Celebrity and Royal Caribbean and know they are not almost the same. I don't need a survey to know that the dress in the MDR is different on the two lines and that passengers are generally not wearing shorts in the MDR on Celebrity.

c4 hopefully they will not have a full compliment of lights, cameras and director chairs making a film to support the desire... LOL

Not sure but I would think it was 30 consecutive days, not business days.

However, the title of post "trauma"...... seriously? OP has certainly lived a blessed life if this is trauma.

spb I would think they have not "...lived a blessed life..." if trauma is in their vocabulary, it makes me think that it is not the first trauma they have suffered... LOL

    Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with Barcelona's airport....crowds, wait times, lines etc. Post-cruise will be taking an international flight back to US departing at 11am, estimating an arrival at airport between 8-9am. Trying to figure out if this is too aggressive.

    Thanks

You may want to review and post this question in the Spain Port of Call forum here...

I have to say I am surprised at the number of responses that pretty much upbraid the OP for his desire to set the transfer deadline aside.

This is the same forum that is nonstop attacking Celeb for its utter disregard toward its pasengers in the Japan overbookings, the Beyond cancellations, the many cutbacks or changes in dining, and now the decision to toss the no smoking rule aside by creating a vaping exception.

All oftl those situations involved Celeb changing its policies or promises without sufficient notice.

Thinking it might just be fair for a guy asking for a small thing to be accommodated. What upsets y'all about that? No one responding here ever asked anything of Celeb?

    Totally different situation all together...

Is there something sacred about X bookings ? I  wanted X to flip mybooķing to my small time (non threatening)TA. The sweet gal X customer service contacted her manager who said NO.

Stay tuned..counting out business days..I was 3 days out of their law of 30 days...Yup.. 36 hours

Yes sent email to executive.this afternoon,,..stay  tuned!

    Thank you CC critics

Well, a very good option for you is to cancel the original booking and re-book with your "small time (non threatening) TA.

I Am sure your TA would be more than happy to help you do that...

Trauma healed, but not the drama, I guess...

It's a known fact that the Dutch are tall people. Having said that a hotel in Amsterdam isn't just for Dutch people, especially with Amsterdam being one of the top visited cities worldwide. Yet the security peephole in our hotel room is probably at 5'9" or 10";I'm 5'6" and I CANT SEE THROUGH THE SECURITY PEEPHOLE!

  9. I would like to point out that for the form letters being received, in such cases and situations where there are massive mail ins about a particular topic, there is no way they can or will provide individual responses to each email.

The best thing which can be done is a 'pro-forma' email acknowledging the issue that was written in about and a few facts...

Otherwise, the 'unique' situations which require immediate attention would fall by the wayside, yet those of us who wrote in about this issue/policy/test, will get our emails noted and tallied as input for the final decision.

IMO that is the goal, the numbers of passengers who wish to not have this expanded beyond the smoking areas.

I remember my first Celebrity cruise on the Mercury....they had an indoor cigar/cognac/piano bar.

How I would have enjoyed that!!!

LOL, were I to do that, then I would have missed dinner that night with friends... and a few not too happy were I to punt it that way...

That could have been an option for sure, in OVC... LOL even without changing...

They did read it, mentioned specific points  and responded with an additional 17,500 SkyMiles (on top of the 7500 already refunded) but I neither asked for your assistance or poor advice.

To be sure posting on a 'public forum' does invite comments (acceptable or not by OP's or others).

Sometimes we like the support or responding post, sometimes we do not.

IME many responding posts are meant to be constructive and critical but not nasty even though they may read as such.

When we do not want any response to any of our posts, then we need to consider not posting...

Given the series of events and potential for missing your sailing, it is good that you made it... and I surmise a good sailing as well.

Pretty sure one side of the Sunset Bar is smoking. Including (gag) cigars.

I'm just hoping that there aren't too many on the July 16 cruise. I didn't think about that when I had my TA change me to an Aqua Sunset Veranda and by the time I realized it there weren't any other AQ rooms available.

woyh as at check-in or GS, someone may have cancelled or missed the boat! LOL

No cigar smoking??? Heck, what will I ever do with my smoking jacket and desire for a nice port or Armagnac after dinner???? LOL

Enjoy your birthday sailing regardless and I look forward to hearing how it went..

I’m hoping that it’s just the keyboard warrior effect but I had such high hopes of my fellow Celebrity passengers that I think I’d rather just lose my deposit than cruise with these people.

Okay, dw7 I do understand the challenge with the commentary... yes, some of us can be harsh about what we think is appropriate or not.

IMO, if you take what you read on this or any other social media platform as the overarching personality of the ship, cruise line or passengers aboard, you will not have many places to sail...

Yes, a few of us are very vocal, then again you will find that less than 2% of the passengers aboard may have heard of CC and even fewer have ever graced these pages.

As I said before, I Am not going anywhere, quickly, from X... I Am sure you are and will be very respectful of others aboard, please remember that many of us have experienced the vast majority of smokers and vapers who are not and do not care...

This is where we are coming from and trying to prevent as there is no way to distinguish the thoughtful vaper vs the selfish one... I would dare to go so far as to say that all who are against vaping are only against it in the casino, which leaves the two (2) areas on X's ships where it can take place.

Please know that the responses are not personal and directed to you or vapers in the least bit, as opposed to the activity in heavily used public spaces.

Agree Bo.  I just sent email.  We would move back to DCL permanently.  Just got off the Wonder in Alaska.  Great time.

br - I Am not in a 'quick' position to change cruise lines as my spouse loves X and too heck with their policies...

So, I cannot jump ship so quickly BUT I can rally against policies which make it uncomfortable for me to be there...

Besides no other line really sounds appealing in terms of passengers to us... besides, most of the staff know us when we board... LOL I try to be incognito, but then there is that one issue which reeks of seeking out the Hotel Director or F&B Director and viola, major issues are rectified in those areas...

I'm starting to regret booking my first Celebrity cruise. I Had been really excited about it all but have a sinking feeling I'm not going to enjoy it if these boards are anything to go by. I Think I'll steer clear of them in future.

dw7 - I recommend that you not worry about that "sinking feeling" as you will thoroughly enjoy your sailing despite these few issues...

Many of us here, understand that currently, vaping is confined to the casino, yet we want to get it contained before it gets out of hand to other venues aboard... (we all know someone who is all about them and what they want because Mgmt said it was okay in one place, why not others???)

Since it is currently "confined" to the casino, it is paramount to stop it as it could go further if the test is successful... for me, it is a goal to make it not successful as I do go into the casino at least daily for 30 - 45 minutes especially after the shows are over...

Of all the battles I did not participate in, this one I Am and have...

So will we write an email to the new CEO. This is very disappointing.

Actually, I find it refreshing to be able to "do my best" to influence a decision that I consider to be in my best interest in my cruise line of choice and love despite some setbacks and changes in policy, no matter how temporary...

Considering some of the other 'issues' batted around CC, this one is worthy of spending time on, IMO...

    Thank you for your reply.

I haven't posted this issue on any other threads - this is my first post anywhere on this topic (though I have read many). On some Celebrity groups on FB, I recently read someone complaining because some adults and children wore shorts in the MDR at dinner which is why I'm asking if those that have been on Summit to Bermuda this season have seen teens/kids wearing shorts. My child would prefer to wear shorts, if possible, which I have no problem with, but don't want to pack nice shorts if they won't be allowed.

My suggestion is, as the five (5) boys on our group sailing did, the parents prepared them for the pants issue and let them pick out which two (2) pairs they wanted to wear for dinner and dinner only and afterwards allowed them to go change back into shorts...

After day three (3) they did not want to change clothes vs getting back to Camp to play with their friends... as such it became a non-issue even if some of the others were wearing shorts...

I do apologize for mistaking your post for another, as it was just posted in this forum no less than three (3) days ago... My apologies again.
