    Totally normal with MSC, you need to start with 2 adults only, then you see the cabins, then you need to add the child. Bingo, cabins still here. So easy 😉

    I tried this and it did not work for me.

    * Began with 2 people

    * Selected YC1 cabin say 18009, had quote for 2 at the bottom

    * Now clicked on the change occupants

    * Changed 2 adults to 2 adults + 1 child

    * Boom YC1 went away and now I can only book Duplex

    Hmmm, wonder MSC would change occupancy on these cabins to higher than 2 at some point.

  2. Thanks @morgansmomand @Two Wheels Only for your responses

    OK, I think I figured out what was going on.

    I was pricing for 3 Adults and 1 Child, when I do THAT none of these YC1 cabins show as available.

    When I switch to pricing for 2 Adults I see what you guys all see i.e. lots of YC1 cabins that I can choose from.

    Why would MSC do this, I do know that these cabins can hold our family, I have done it before half a dozen times.

  3. MSC Meraviglia started pricing for Christmas 2022 (12/23-30) at the beginning of January 2022. I tried pricing the Christmas week in early March and YC1 is showing 0 availability, only room coming up on MSC website in YC is the duplex.

    What do the experts on this group think? Is it truly sold out?  What are the chances that rooms in YC1 might become available again.

    MSC Seascape was much higher in pricing for the same week in YC1 so I was watching Meraviglia but failed to put up a deposit on it in time.

    Please comment!

  4. My daughter under 12 was given a white wristband by YC Concierge and was treated like a vaccinated passenger from that point on, white wristband was checked for minors when we tried to get off the ship on our own

    When she was in parts of the ship only for vaccinated passengers, crew member sometimes verbally asked us if she was vaccinated

    We all got RT-PCR tests 2 days before

  5. Miami Dade county has several locations that offer PCR test.

    I'm trying to figure out if this is any different than what MSC requires where it says RT-PCR and not just PCR.

    If I do the PCR test for my 9 year old, does anyone know if it would be accepted? Or is it totally different than what they are looking for when they say **RT**-PCR.

    Please respond if anyone knows. Thanks!

  6. Question re. the 30% off coupon given by the casino club:

    • Does the coupon work on an existing reservation? Say you get the coupon in February 2019 and want to apply it to a booking made in later part of last year say December 2018 - is that possible?
    • Or does the coupon have to be applied to a booking made after the coupon is issued?
  7. @Shippy are you able to share more information? Could you give a sense for how long of a gaming is needed to trigger 30% off coupon and at what denomination? Was it all slots or some mix of slots/vp/table games.

    Also would anyone have any experience playing Video Poker onboard Seaside? Does it get treated differently than the slot machines as far as comps are concerned due to a possible lower hold on the VP?

  8. This is for MSC Seaside. We bought our laundry package in advance.

    We did not have to send all 40 clothes at a time. This based on my 2 data points February 2018 and February 2019. This time we sent 14, 7, 19 - i.e. 3 batches.

    They were open to accepting clothes on the last day but there was some hesitation and I was told their preference would be to finish off my allowance a day early. Clothes were delivered well after 6pm. Butler said they only have 7 people working and they are behind. On one night, room keeper said he didn't even get the clean towels for all YC rooms in time.

    • Thanks 1
  9. Re. 1200 points v/s 2000 points requirement, here's some relevant information from the MSC Apps' Casino FAQ:

    "MSC On board Reward Program: By earning Dream Points you will automatically qualify for excellent benefits, from 30% off on your next cruise to on board credit, to invitation-only special events, up to a free cruise! Guests sailing on voyages from 6 to 8 days will need to collect 1200 points in order to enroll, guests sailing on voyages from 9 to 14 days will need to collect 2000 points to be enrolled."

  10. @shippy - thanks for your post

    * Do you have any sense of how points accumulate for slots and/or tables?

    -- for e.g. for every $2 cycled through slots you earn 1 point

    * How many days did it take you to reach the 1200 point mark and could you give us a sense of your average daily coin in that was needed to reach there?
