I agree, its combinable if you booked your cruise after June 1st....

I booked my cruise June 17th through my TA, who gave me a $75 OBC. I have 100 shares RCCL Stock, which pays $50. Will I be able to get $125 OBC? Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

I am in the described category.

    1. My SH OBC appeared for use in the Cruise Planner.

    2. I used the OBC through my Cruise Planner.

    3.  I used the OBC on board for my automatic gratuities.

It is, like any other OBC, just a credit on your SeaPass account, which does not know what you are spending.  It's just a numerical credit, against which any and all charges are debited.

    Mystery solved!

Thank you for this valuable information. I was wondering specifically, if I have a $75 OBC from my TA, and a $50 from my Share Holdings, will I be able to "stack" them, meaning will I have $125 OBC once on board? Thanks in advance for your advice!

That's the question -- what does that mean?  The program is new for bookings after 1 June, so we really need to hear back from folks that have cruised under the new Shareholder program.   Could the onboard service charges equal the 20% gratuity on drinks/spa treatments or just the normal gratuities?   I think we need further clarification.   🍷

We will let you know...we booked June 17th and sail Sept. 16th, we have TA OBC, and are shareholders, so we will find out in 5 weeks and report back...

The program is only 2 months old, so it would have to be someone who booked a last minute cruise and knew about the new program.  We'll just have to wait & see and have someone report back.  🍷

We booked June 17th, and sail Sept. 16th, so we are candidates on the "wait and see and report back" crew 🙂

Some reviews have indicated the skillet cakes and 12 hour French toast are not quite the tried and true breakfast staples people may be used to...

image.gif.8410a6974632ea1f593586bb84f83bdb.gif"Think of it as a triple thick pancake with a sweet sauce and some sort of crumble on top, along with what appear to be house-made marshmallow squares and ricotta cheese. They serve it with syrup, but it is not needed as it is plenty sweet already. Mine was maybe just a tiny bit doughy inside?... The skillet cake was decent for what it was, but I'm not in a hurry to order it again."

"French toast. It was a loaf. The peaches were candied on top."

The descriptions I've read have described the 12 hour French toast as more of a bread pudding than what most would traditionally call French toast.

Oh...now that just makes me sad! French toast "loaf" doesn't even sound appealing 😞

This has been one of the biggest questions  I have been pondering. How do the crew remember you from one cruise to the next especially with running into thousands of passengers? I have had a Maitre D' remember my Father and I two years later. We could not believe he remembered us?  He made sure to check on us nightly and took the time to talk with us and made sure our meals were perfect! It made us feel like family! Another server in the Windjammer came by my table and said I remember your Father and you from a previous cruise!     The same happened at Guest Services.

I enjoy interacting with the crew and talking with them but I am utterly touched when someone remembers us after a few years and thousands of passengers later.

Now herein lies the mystery does Royal Caribbean use the computer software to state that this person was on the same cruise and to recognize them?  For instance the Waiter remembers that we like Lemonaird with Iced Tea at dinner do they add it to Passenger notes and go over it every evening?   Is there some training involved or some secrete  method because I know that I run into many people and remember some but after seeing so many  I do tend to forget.

Have you had someone come up to you on a cruise and remember you?

As a server for years, I had no problem remembering certain (most, actually) customers and even sometimes what they drank if it was something unusual. It's a gift 🙂

Looking at caribbean cruises leaving from Florida in January and was wondering if the weather is usually warm enough to lounge on the beach? Also, coming from the northeast, I am worried about flight cancellations and missing the cruise. Should I aim to arrive two days earlier or is a day earlier good enough?

We love to cruise in January! Holidays are over, snow is still on the ground, cold and slushy yuck to drive in...what better time to escape?? 🙂

    1. Pancakes are referred to as "skillet cakes" and French toast is still on there.  (See top of middle column.)  The waffles are gone from brunch, but are still offered at port day breakfast or the Dr. Seuss character breakfast.

    2. Fresh-squeezed OJ is extra charge, I'm sure of it.  Free OJ is probably frozen concentrate (like those cans in the frozen breakfast aisle) diluted with water, or even a corn syrup and Yellow #5 concoction.

Mmmm....corn syrup and yellow #5....yummy! lol

LOL.  DW pointed that out to me 10 seconds before you did.

But, the $5 juice is still a big issue to me.

Yeah, me too...that seems high for oj, and also us women are used to finding things..socks, keys, wallets, so it's only a continuation of normal DW behavior 🙂

    Two major problems:

    1. No pancakes, waffles, or French toast?

    2. OJ is now an extra charge for breakfast, even for kids?

Middle, top..."house special" box, skillet cake (pancake) and 12 hr French Toast...

If you insist on thinking you need a TA to book a cruise (we never use them and book all our cruises online unless it's a specific casino cruise promo where you need to book with a HAL agent), use one that is a cruise expert and has cruised before. The TA these people used obviously was a loser.

I booked my very 1st cruise by myself online, and have ever since...and I've found us some amazing deals. I agree it is something everyone can easily do themselves.

Cynt, you told CC what they needed, but she wouldn't pass it on. You did your part, there wasn't much more you could do. I get it...GG thought she knew better so CC said to heck with her. But after the DIL got denied, I'm sure CC felt like crap for not making sure everyone knew what documentation they needed. And if the rest of them ever find out that CC knew, but decided not to pass it on, things are going to get even uglier.

    Truth!

This is seriously the first time I have seen anyone praise NCL's desserts. To me, they are pretty awful except for a few. They all look good, but are usually tasteless.

That's how I feel about CCL, with the exception of choc. melting cake... 🙂

There's a thread on the X board, which is how I found out about it.  Supposedly, you have to have booked after 6/1/18, but some have reported success with submitting their request for sailings that were booked before that date.  Doesn't hurt to try, right?

As for CCL stock, the only time I have ever been denied the OBC was on a HAL cruise that was a deeply-discounted casino fare.  I'm pretty sure that Carnival gives the credit even on free casino cruises (I've never received one so wouldn't know).

IMHO, all of Carnival Corporation's lines should follow the same policy in this instance.    The "rules" should be applied to all the lines in a consistent manner.  But that would be asking too much, I suppose.

    Well, one can dream.... 🙂
