  1. Anyone who has not experienced migraines can not understand how horrible they can be. I couldn't even read all the posts without getting upset. I also have suffered for many years. yes, i have found my miracle drug in Amerge but before that the only time I missed any work was because of migraines. Not the flu or a cold could keep me in bed but a migraine, with vomiting was the worst pain ever. Could not function at al and No , they were not because of my diet but hormonal. Even now the meds take an hour to work as my body gets accustomed to them. I feel that Dr. was uneducated on migraines. Otherwise this would not have been an issue. So sorry you had to go through this and yes, a migraine is no reason your cruise should have ended.

  2. Read all you can find. We did a b to b. Two of us on the south bound and 11 on the north bound. We booked a private van instead of the train and it was awesome. So much to see. You get closer up. Thought the lumberjack show would be corny, did it for the kids and we loved it. Lots of hiking. Wander into the shops off the be-ton bath and talk to the locals. Trip of a lifetime.

  3. So glad you asked this question. I have been debating getting the package. We aren't big drinkers but on a cruise I think we want to relax and enjoy it. We usually hold back as not to have a huge bill at the end. Knowing what we will spend before hand would make it worry free. Even if it's more than we would normally spend. We love the aft balconies and suites but booked an inside cabin and will spend the difference on the package. Don't plan on getting off the ship except on the private island so I think it will be worth it for us. Glad you all had a positive experience with the drink package.

  4. I think the cruise lines like to look the other way on some of these things. We were sailing Celebrity when one night at dinner I felt something touching me all over all at once. We were eating dinner and one of the servers cleaning a table on the deck above us broke a glass covering my husband and I with glass. It was raining glass. We didn't want to make a big deal of it because we felt so bad for the young girl that had this accident. One diner who had glass by his foot made a big deal of it. Everyone from the chef, to all the important staff came to apologize. That was the end of it. Nothing from the cruise line.

  5. Emphatically YES, bring your snorkeling gear: although you can rent stuff on CocoCay, your own equipment is likely to be better.

Not so much related to Barefoot Beach, but there is excellent snorkeling out from the 'main' beach to the right (away from the tender pier). There are two sunken planes, a sunken battery of cannons, etc. It's a ways out, but there are snorkeling platforms to use as resting spots, and lifeguards out there. They feed the fish at one of the lifeguard stations, and you will see HUNDREDS of fish in that area.

If you 'drop in' for the snorkeling briefing at the snorkeling shack on the beach, they'll tell you where all these things are. Be sure to bring an underwater camera!

Thank you so much. Your response convinced hubby th bring our gear. Looking up the map now.

  6. I had seen a few video's online about Barefoot Beach, but once we arrived to Coco Cay and saw it for ourselves, we weren't impressed with that part of the island. I liked the area just off the JetSki ramps a lot more.

Please tell more. It will be our first time here. Not sure where to go. Should we bring our snorkel gear? Is it any good?

  7. Not to mention the airport you fly from, the airport that you land in, the cab or shuttle, the hotel you may stay at, the restaurant you eat at, the bar you may go to, the shuttle or cab to the port, the 1000's of people at the port waiting to get off and on the ship. My guess is that Baggie and Lysol wipes will help a lot! Wash your hands frequently and try not to touch your eyes and nose and mouth!

OK Toddcan, how much are those suites? ROTFL.

  8. LOL, the suite is funny.

Our first cruise back in )^ was getting onto a spotless, completely bleached down ship. They Noro the week before ours. We always bring the Lysol wipes. They come in travel packs and it only takes about 10 minutes to do a good cleaning.

  9. We had issues with a majority cocktails that included patron martinis and the speciality drinks even though they were less than 10 dollars. They didn't have the special glass with it either. Also certain beers were excluded as well and my husband is not a bud light drinker. St germaine elderflower liquor was not included either. Thats why I want to bring a list and show it to the bartender. I have been hearing from other people that they have been having the same issues, red bull and vodka etc. I guess that is why we need a list because some bartenders give you a hassle about what's not included, even though the list doesn't specify what's not included. We need a clarification of what is not included.

From what I am reading this is a real concern. This will be our first time using the package. If you read RCCL's website they say any drink on their menu under 10$. I only saw (at a quick glance) 1 specialty martini that was 10.25. One Margarita also. Wonder if they have a list when you sign up the package.

  10. I agree TommyG74....I am a smoker and I am tired of being bashed also!

I have always booked a balcony room because I love to look at the ocean... and because I am currently still working ....with this being said I have always enjoyed the peace & quiet of my balcony and being able to smoke on it in my pjs & robe without having to get dressed etc before I can enjoy my cigarette in the morning or before I turn in for the night!

I am wondering tho....the cruise that I had already booked for April (before they changed the policy) still has a LOT of vacancies (Balcony, JS & GS) & final payment was made 1/21!! I thought this was kind of unusual (and the prices have not even dropped!). Where are all the non-smokers that said they quit booking balconies because of the smokers? Seems like RCCL would be bombarded with people (especially non-smokers) booking these balcony cabins and this sailing would be sold out by now!

My intentions are not to start a war by posting this, I just think that if RCCL would have sent out a questionnaire to EVERYONE that has cruised with them instead of just reading the comments of the non-smokers only (not stating a fact, just seems this way), they might would have possiblly received opinions from the smokers as well as the non-smokers. I realize that this is where the smoking is heading (ie no more inside anywhere etc) but a balcony......outside....open air???????

The non-smokers are already starting to harp about the casino now (the only place inside the ship a smoker can enjoy a cigarette)!

I am just stating how I personally feel on the issue and am not saying anything against non-smokers (all my cruises are with non-smokers). I wish that this would have been a habit that I never got hooked on and who knows......maybe eventually I will stop smoking!

Hardest thing I ever did in my life was quit smoking. The second hardest is trying to loose all the weight I gained after quitting. LOL.

I think people complained about smoke coming up to their balcony from smokers below. Why don't they make smoking balcony's on the highest deck and a separate section say the back corner of the ship?
