I am unfamiliar with this brand. Friends of ours just booked them from Brazil to Miami.
The ship looks beautiful on the website, but it doesn’t seem to clarify if it’s all inclusive.
Is anyone familiar with this line? We usually cruise Seabourn, Regent or Silversea. We like the size of their ships and the all inclusive fares.
Thanks!
We went to Norway in July 2018 and the weather was very mild. It can vary a lot. The previous cruise had miserable weather according to the crew. I would recommend layers. There were some passengers in shorts at Nordkapp! We had one rainy day, so a lightweight raincoat might come in handy. The cruises we’ve been on have umbrellas in the room, but not sure if that is common for all.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery.
We did Silversea to Norway from London. It is probably pricier, but the smaller ship can get into smaller ports. We were very lucky with the weather, which I understand can sometimes be iffy.
A friend in California who worked for an accountant gave me a nice little trick a few years ago. The sales tax in Calif I think is approximately 8-9%. If you take the tax on your bill and double it then round up to an even number you’ll get to a 16-18% tip. That falls near the expected range of 18-20%.
In hotels, usually $2-3 for bringing bags to your room. I know some people do $1 per bag.
Enjoy SF. Have lunch at Tadich Grill. It’s an institution!
We usually spend most in the spa. The rates are pretty steep and it’s a treat we don’t usually do at home. I’d say it depends on cruise line and what appeals most to you.
We did our 25th on Seabourn. No charge at all. But if they do as good a job for $250 I’d say worth it. We had printed invitations for a number of guests we had made friends with in the week. A special meal with printed menus and a cake. Only you can decide what you’ll get for the money. Happy 25th.
I can only speak of time changes on trans Atlantic. It was a breeze. So much better changing gently on a ship one hour at a time than on a plane with 8-10 hours at once.
We are doing Miami to Lisbon at the end of March into April. Anyone have tips on possible weather during that time? While at sea and Portugal would be useful
thanks!
I am struggling with packing for an Antarctica cruise in November. They provide gear for going ashore but how warm do I need to be on deck? I have Timberland boots. Do I need those or something else? Just good shoes with socks? Any help appreciated. Thanks
We are booked on Seabourn Venture to Antarctica in November. Any tips on what to pack for the weather? They provide a parka etc but what should I consider on a day to day basis on board?
Any advice appreciated.
