  1. Montenegro is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Yes consider that.
  2. Croatia is beautiful and Venice now is a bit of a pain in my view. So I’d opt for the Croatia with stops in Italy. I can’t speak to the ships since I’ve not been on them. Good luck. I hope you find something you all enjoy.
  3. It must be just me, but I hate the idea of ‘classes’ onboard a ship. But I guess I understand the reasoning.
  4. I would try any of the premium or luxury lines that are in your budget. I think the smaller ships (under 1,000 passengers - not so small but when some are looking at 4,000+ pax I think that’s small!) offer a quieter atmosphere. Usually fewer children because they don’t cater for them with climbing walls, etc. The luxury lines are mostly all balcony now and depending on the line have a number of restaurants to choose from. Get those brochures and start searching! Good luck.
  5. Yes Absolutely beautiful and we were very lucky with the weather. Iceland was on my bucket list. We had a really great itinerary on Regent from NY to Iceland via Greenland booked for June 2020. Need I say more? We booked another Iceland cruise for 2021 and I can’t recall all the details except it didn’t happen! We finally made it to Iceland this year.

  7. Our Amawaterways cruise on the Danube mostly sailed overnight. The idea seemed to be a different town every day to tour. I don’t know if this is true, but someone opined that a lot of the rivers aren’t that scenic between towns.
  8. Does this site not have info like that by cruise line?
  9. I have found non drowsy tablets here in the US. I would also recommend the wrist bands. We used them on the Drake Passage and had no problem. The ginger is also a good idea. We found a bag of individually wrapped chews at the pharmacy.
  10. Too long ago to recall. I just know between signing for drinks, being pressured to buy overpriced photos and yards of gold. I was done
  11. I said to my husband c2009 I was done when RCL wanted me to pay for an espresso. I said it was a coffee, they said it was a special drink. In 2011 we did our first Seabourn and I’ve never signed for a an espresso, champagne, or anything since. Yes we pay more up front, but after reading CC posts I am more than happy with the decision.
  12. Pay to expedite the passport. You will most likely have it back in a few weeks. Send your travel info with it. You say cruises are next year. You have months to renew.
  13. We have been there two or three times. The first time was the French side and I can’t remember if we docked or had a tender. The other times on Seabourn we docked on Dutch side. A nicer port in my view.
  14. We’ve done this on lots of cruises. We’re not bothered by others going to pool/spa. Makes total sense to me to have a terry robe to go over a wet swim suit.
  15. I don’t know what currency you need. We usually use our debit card when we arrive at a country if we need cash. You will get a small fee for the ATM. So many countries now use credit or debit card for taxis and restaurants. If you are only in a country for a day on a cruise $200 is more than you will need If it’s a country that uses Euros then they are useful for multiple stops.
  16. We have always used a TA. When our agent of many years was getting ready to retire (and unfortunately did not have a colleague to continue her agency) we had to start a search. We were on a cruise and overheard a conversation that was obviously a TA. We approached her and she was delighted to speak with us and go forward. We now use her agency. They are prepared to advise on tour providers in port, (they have a good deal of personal travel experience to draw from). My point is, TAs are out there that will help. Finding one? This agency belongs to a group called Virtuoso. Not sure if you search that group if they have names of agents near you. However saying that, our TA is not local to us, but neither was our other one we used for years. Have you met fellow travelers who have an agent they would recommend?
  17. Why Viking will NEVER be on my list of possible cruises.
  18. Agree with the need to find a way to sit and move along the line if there is no other way. Most people are very tolerant of someone who truly needs assistance. I see more and more abuse of wheel chairs at airports and boarding of “young children”. A 12 yo is not in need of preboarding because he’s a child just to let the entire family on first.
  19. I would think if you alerted the cruise director or your suite attendant they may have something to put on the door.
  20. Search Virtuoso Travel Advisors. There is a link to find advisors. After that it may just be seeing who is a match for you.
  21. We had a stop in Montserrat in January 2020. The locals were ecstatic that tourists were back and bringing income to their island again. The part of the island that had been devastated was a tour and very interesting to see what nature can do. I agree Maui needs time to heal.
  22. We did a Silversea cruise that stopped at Honfleur. From there we had a tour to Normandy beaches. Honfleur was a lovely town. Unsure if it is on many cruise itineraries.
  23. Good grief! You could pay for another cruise with what that drink package costs! Thanks for confirming my decision to go all inclusive cruising.
  24. I renewed mine in Aug 2022. I paid to expedite both processing and delivery. I’m thinking I had it back within a month. If I recall there is a place on the form to enter when your travel begins and you need it processed? Someone else may be able to answer that.
