  1. Included return chauffeur service A chauffeur will pick you up from home and take you to the port at Dover or Portsmouth. 2024 cruises: A private chauffeur if you live up to 75 miles of the port each way or a shared chauffeur service up to 300 miles. 2025 cruises: A private chauffeur if you live up to 75 miles of the port each way or a shared chauffeur service nationwide As a previous poster has said everything is always negotiable. Worst possible scenario is you end up paying for the few extra miles.
  2. Eastern med is always slightly more expensive than western med so it’s about right. you can do a western med cruise called “Highlights of the med” on 6 of May with a seven day stay in Majorca included for £1521 each base price,Worth a look if you haven’t done the western med before. The same trip with a 4 night stay in Majorca is £1444.
  3. Yes the land side operation does leave a lot to be desired, but they don’t seem that bothered with trying to improve it.🤷🏻‍♂️
  4. You can see why they got rid of the onboard laundromat.😳 Makes sense to turn your skidders inside out for another days wear.😂😂 Hope you enjoy your upcoming trip Jim.👍
  5. You are welcome. The daily newsletter is delivered to your room when they do the turndown service. It gives details of activities, locations, and times on the ship also restaurant and bar opening times. Other info is the port authority’s and the ships phone no. unfortunatly there are no maps but I think that reception may print them on request. Hope this helps.
  6. They did when we last did a trip on Marella (Explorer2. Last September)👍🏻
  7. Is this a Peaky Blinders project.?😂😂😂😂
  8. Hi pennib. We were on explorer the week before Christmas 22. We also found the beds slightly hard. I think the problems at Manchester Airport will be resolved later this year, when the new security halls are completed, With regards to Tenerife, my wife who is able bodied unfortunately turned her ankle a couple of days before we embarked and was limping into the check in building, a young phillipino lad came to us with a wheelchair and wheeled her straight to our cabin we were very impressed so not all bad. keep well.
  9. Three floors up for food and one floor down for drinks, perfect location.😂😂😉
  10. We have been on Explorer many times, it’s a nice ship. Some of the beds have been a bit too firm for my liking but we were informed on our last trip that mattress toppers were available. Hope you have a great time.😉
  11. For March 2025 I would start looking after Christmas.
  12. Hi Will.when are you going on your trip? Marella are pretty slow at putting the excursions online, We are away first week in June and nothing online regarding booking excursions, restaurants, spa treatments as yet.🤷🏻‍♂️
  13. I have never seen anything regarding ordering off the MDR menu at extra cost🤔 They do have a couple of always available options. ( I think it’s chicken or fish) Steak is available in the Italian restaurant on one of the rotated menus.
  14. Decisions,Decisions,Decisions,Love it.😂😂 On both of our upcoming trips they are asking for the balance exactly twelve weeks before departure. Hoping it works for you.😉
  15. Hi MIB. It might be an idea to put the date and cruise details of the one that you are looking at on here, then some kind people that have booked it already might tell you when they get their balance reminder. Good luck, keep well.😉
  16. The last time we were there (With a different cruise company) at the port gates there was a couple of independent minibuses doing round trips to the bus station at the gate to the town, they were charging €2 each way.
  17. Hi Lindylou. formal night attire has always been a can of worms on Marella, This pretty much covers it as it stands. Marella Cruises usually has one night per 7-day cruise that is designated as a ‘Dress to Impress’ night. It’s where guests are encouraged to get dressed up in more formal clothing if they wish, although guests can just turn up in the regular Smart dress code if they prefer. A lot of guests still enjoy the feeling of putting on their most glamorous suits and cocktail dresses for a night, but there are also many who don’t want to have to pack their best formal clothing, or just prefer the more relaxed feel of a smart-casual outfit. Marella caters for both with the Dress to Impress night, since you’re welcome to choose either. And if you don’t want to feel like you’re underdressed, you can head to any of the other restaurants on the ship – the Dress to Impress night is typically limited to the main restaurant only. If you google “ Marella dress code” it will explain marella’s interpretation. Have a great cruise.😉
  18. Thank you. You will never know how much that has cheered me up.😉👍🏻
  19. Had a look on the deck plans and the cabin we have booked is showing a square shower which means a glass door can be fitted easily. When looking at YouTube videos the shower curtains were usually on the quarter round trays so I am quite hopeful. Shower curtains just seem to want to fight with me.😳
  20. Hi Sam. I am sure you will have a great time, the itinerary’s are usually quite good and the food and drinks onboard are more than acceptable. Fellow passengers are mainly friendly and the staff are the aces in marellas pack.😉
  21. We are always talking about giving other lines a try but not got around to it apart from last Xmas/ new year and that wasn’t all that good to be honest. I think with us it’s stick with what you know.🤔 A trip on Discovery in June and Xmas/new year on Explorer booked so far.🙂
  22. Thanks for pointing that out.🤦🏻 Same question but deck seven.🫣
