While you can’t transfer credits, tapas style restaurants like Food Republic allow you to order 4 items per credit and share with the table.  Usually 4 credits is enough food for 2 people.  I would recommend using yours and your step daughters 4th credit at Food Republic if it’s on the ship.  This would allow all 4 to eat from the 8 items.

That’s a great tip. We did not try Food Republic on our first NCL, so looking to try new ones this time.

  2. This is the current breakdown of our dining credits from what was included with our balcony and interior cabins and the upgrades we purchased.

    Balcony:

me - 4 (2 included, 2 purchased thru an upgrade offer)

stepdaughter - 4 (2 included, 2 purchased thru an upgrade offer)

    Interior:

    DH - 1 (1 included)

friend - 3 (1 included, 2 purchased thru an upgrade offer)

Can we share these credits? I would have tried to make them even but I haven’t seen anywhere to buy just one credit.

Thank you for any insight you can offer.

  3. We are doing a private excursion thru Adventure Antigua. They have been in business for many years and have a great reputation. The cruise ship doesn’t offer any excursions similar to this one. I’m not going outside of the cruise line to save money, it’s actually a very expensive excursion. I’ve always thought travel insurance would cover missing the ship, not that I plan to but something could happen. Recently on a podcast, they had an insurance rep on there who explained that missing the ship from a private excursion would usually not be covered. I was surprised. I checked with the carrier I bought our policy from and was told not covered. Are there any policies that cover this?

  4. Thanks everyone for the replies. I didn’t want to pack a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. I was hoping it was more relaxed because we are thinking of doing the Voyager out of San Juan with no sea days. The thought of dressing up every night for dinner was making me wonder if I should pick a different cruise. I’ve done many Carnival cruises but nothing is grabbing my attention this year so I’m branching out.

  5. The ship is beautiful.  I’m platinum with Carnival and really liked the new layout.  Not having Guys next to the pool really eliminated the cluster that always happened there at lunch. There were many stations at lido buffet so it flowed well too.

We had ocean suite 9461. We loved the location. Just turn the corner at aft elevators and we were there.  No noise from hallway except occasional kid running. Easy down to Summers Landing for ice cream or breakfast. Something to be aware of, the balcony is open to all the other balconies over it. This also means limited shade during the day.  The bean bag game is under the balcony so no loungers there and usually quiet. One day there was a bean bag challenge so there were a bunch of people gathered right below. See pics. On day 3 music was playing all day into the next morning. You couldn’t hear it in the cabin at all but made it hard for sitting on the balcony and reading or listening to the ocean.  It was coming from the speakers along the rail on deck 8.  I called at 630AM to see if it was going to always be on. I was told unless it could be heard in the cabin, nothing would be done.  The music continued to play that day but I didn’t notice it anymore after that.  Maybe others complained too. I’ll include the video of the cabin but it is a bit fast moving. I wouldn’t be against booking this room again but would prefer to find a balcony that is a bit more private.

‘Three of us had negative Covid test and completed verify. That made check in easy for us. My husband was using a positive Covid test as his document of recovery per Carnival’s website. The agent asked for his doctor’s letter of recovery. I said the website says document of recovery is the positive test between 10 and 90 days prior. She said we are required to provide letter.  I pulled up Carnival website and showed her. She left for about 20 min then said she got an approval to go ahead.

Another thing I wanted to mention, I would avoid booking over the white roof that is to the left in the when looking out the balcony. That white was just glaring in the sun. I think it would make for a bad view between the blocking the view down and the brightness.

  6. Sorry for the broken up email on those last four pics.  For some reason when I screenshot that email on my iPad, I can’t get it to post.  It fails to upload each time so I did it from my phone.

I was disappointed that this happened, but I learned my lesson.  I won’t be paying in advance for an excursion unless it’s through the cruise line.  From reading the email from Ed it sounds like someone has purchased the business because it says they can’t deduct my money from his future payments without his permission. Wording is strange.  Good luck if you decide to go.  It looks like a fun excursion.
