After you board, go to any specialty restaurant to make dining package reservations.
Ah bummer, so nothing can be done before the cruise?
-
We booked the Ultimate Drink and Dining package this morning. I already had the Drink package booked and it was an easy decision to add the Ultimate Drink + Dining package. I've never booked booked a dining package before does anyone have any insight on how the reservations are handled?

The Breeze hands down. That was the ship that sold me on Carnival.

You got one of the best balcony cabins on the ship, don't over think it, just be thankful ;).
I know, I know. I'm really looking forward to this trip and it's my first vacation in years. I'm in the Army and it's been tough to get the time off when it works for both mine and my wife's schedule. It will be her 1st Royal cruise so I want her to enjoy it.

Hi, you didn't ask me, but I can tell you that the cabin itself is the same as the other non-suite cabins on that deck. It is a standard balcony cabin. We have been in that very cabin which we booked specifically. We are also in 6638 on Liberty this coming August. We have been booking those hump cabins since the Voyager class 15 years ago and we think they are the best bargain on the ship for all the previously mentioned reasons. If you got this one with a guarantee you did well. Enjoy!
I appreciate the response. I was more curious what it looks like from the Balcony. Can you see both fore and aft? I guess we lucked out on a guarantee room. How close is it to the elevators/stairs? Is it high traffic and will there be any noise?
-
Hi,
Had 6636, 6638, 6640 dozens of times on
Liberty and Indy...great location, near elevators,
just above Champagne Bar, great views from
balconies. Convenient.
Also, note that the port-side aft elevators are the only ones
that go to deck 14, Diamond Lounge/Royal Crown Lounge.
Convenient.
Overall, great location on any Freedom class ship.
Don't tell anybody else though.
Do you have any picture of 6638. We got a balcony guarantee and that's what we ended up with.

Food on Carnival has never been their strong suit, the steakhouse as a huge disappointment on the Breeze, however I will say there are plenty of good dining choices. Guys, Blue Iguana, Pizza place and the Tandoori are fantastic. Most of my Carnival cruises have been quick weekend getaways on the Fantasy class. Last year we did an 8 day Eastern on the Breeze it was a phenomenal trip, I fell in love with the ship, the service was great. It completely blew my expectations out of the water.

Yeah at 17-18 I wouldn't want to be chained down to my parents. You even said yourself that when you were younger you were able to be a teen and let loose.
Neither would I. My folks trusted me enough to let me do my own thing, even signed the beer and wine waiver for me back in RCCL still had it and everything turned out just fine.

Hey Paul, I'm really enjoying your live thread. I've never taken a Celebrity cruise but they are looking more and more appealing to me. I'm not a big production show person but I love live music and late night comedy shows. How does Celebrity rate in those areas?

I thought Royal had a cancel for any reason plan?

I've been "Loyal to Royal" for a long time, in between Royal Cruises my wife and I decided to try the booze cruise out of Charleston, which to my surprise I liked for what it was. After that positive experience we booked an 8 night on the Breeze and it was a phenomenal cruise totally shattered my expectations. I will say that the gaudy decor of most carnival ships is a turn off and I think gives a "cheap" perception. Anyways the Breeze taught me not to be loyal to any one brand.

I was on the Breeze this past February and was previously on the Liberty of the Seas. Liberty is one of my favorite ships, however I will say that the Breeze really stuck out and sort of did away with lots of stereotypes of a Carnival cruise. The Breeze is a beautiful ship and it laid out well. Some of my top comparisons.
Liberty:
Royal Promenade
entertainment
service and happiness of the crew
Breeze:
Spa area and Serenity for adult only is better than the solarium
Food quality in the MDR is about the same, however Carnival wins for variety. Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana Burrito, Tandoori Grill and Carnival Pizza is amazing
Punch liners Comedy Club is fantastic

Always enjoy reading your reviews, Jim. We're looking at taking this trip in November if I can get the time off.
-
Because of my line of work I typically book only a month or two out. I would be lovely to be able to book a long way out.
-
As I posted in the other thread i'm 3/3 getting a JS on a suite guarantee.
-
I'm 3 for 3 getting a JS. It's still a great room at a great price.
-
That video is a lot different thank many that are being posted to media outlets. The ship looks like a mess.

We were on the Breeze in January and it was full if Canadians and Europeans.
-
I'm active duty and they never check or validate when I've booked under a military rate.
-
We're considering this trip in September! looking forward your updates.
-
Why aren't you looking at Puerto Rico? Adventure and Jewel can bring you to some marvelous ports that are definitely not "cookie-cutter."
In our case we don't want to have to fly to PR. We'd love to see a 8 or 9 day exotic eastern Caribbean from Florida. We just took a 8 night on the Carnival Breeze for the itinerary. I love RCCL but the same trips are getting boring.
-
And that was my question if there was a tax on the overall price of the package. Thanks for clearing that up!
-
We board the Breeze Saturday. First carnival trip on something other than the fantasy class ships.
-
If you preorder cheers are before you sail do you pay sales tax?
