We are scheduled on the maiden voyage November 17 from Istanbul.  I'm looking for some fellow cruisers to talk to prior to departure.

We are on the Neptune from Istanbul on the 17th.  Deb and Munro

  2. Did anyone do the tour to Montserrat? I’d be really interested to know their opinions & the cost, which I realize wouldn’t be etched in stone. We’ve been to Barcelona a few times & never made it there yet. We are on the Neptune in Barcelona for the next WC and are hoping this could be on our plan.

We have booked our 1st Viking Ocean cruise on the Viking Venus and as I review the deck plans I see Cinemas 1 and 2 on Deck 2.  Do they show daily movies there?   We are Crystal refugees and look forward to expanding our horizons.

I believe on the World Cruise these were closed off for Ted Talks that were shown in there daily, but I could be mistaken.  The Ted Talks were available on the TV in your room as well on our last cruise.

Hello!  I'm scheduled to sail on the Octantis next week from Ushuaia to Antarctica for about 14days.  This is my first cruise and I've been reading about recent South American/Antarctica cancelations and was wondering what the likelihood is of something like that happening before leaving.  I'm still getting emails about all the steps I need to take before departing but over the last week I'm often locked out of my account and haven't been able to view my airline tickets online.  Additionally, there's no details about individual days while we're in Antarctica--it all seems tbd with no ability to sign up for anything.

I'm hesitant about booking some end-of-trip flights if I'm still not certain this is a go--just wondering if I'm being paranoid.

    Thanks very much!

Hi, We are on the Feb 4th cruise, there is a great Facebook page if you are on there.  It’s the Viking Expedition Antarctica Cruises page, Phil Buzby is the administrator and it’s full of wonderful information.  The latest form you need to complete is featured there as well, which was helpful as we are locked out too.

A quick topic deviation, please.  What is the height of space under the bed?  We’ll be on the WC 2023 and wondering if our large suitcases will clear the height clearance. Thanks, enjoy your cruise and stay well.

We put our largest suitcases under the bed on the last world cruise. Not a problem at all.

After watching the Euro 2020 final, which had a dreadful result, I'm heading up to Explorer's to drown my sorrows with a few Pina Coladas.

Jim, you heading up to join me in commiserating England's loss😒

They really fought the good fight. Heartbreaking for the young guys, I’ll have a Bourbon, neat, please.

Could someone who knows the 8 Canadians find out, did they in fact leave London Heathrow?  As I look at British Airways flights for today, Saturday, April 11, flight to Vancouver was cancelled, as were the two daily flights to Toronto.  Were they flying by commercial flights or were they on charters? Really hope they aren’t stuck at the airport.

    Here’s  hope I’m wrong!!!!!

The 6 of us on the Air Canada flight to Toronto landed 45 minutes ago. All safe & sound. The end of a wonderful journey. Judy and Andy were to leave for Vancouver several hours after us. Hopefully they are in the air.

    Hello Deb and Monroe,

We have been watching the progress of the cruise since we left all of you.  It sounds like quite an adventure.  As we spend our winters in California, we also needed to adjust our plans.  Our government, travel insurance and most of all our family forced our decision to return to Canada early.  Arrived back in BC yesterday after 3 long days on the road.  Best wishes to all of you for good health and a safe return home.  Our 37 days aboard was an experience of a lifetime.  Beautiful ship and ports plus so many wonderful people.

    Janet & Keith,

We’ve missed you on the Adventure. Glad to hear you are safe and sound at home. I guess, given the times, that’s the safest place to be. Hope we meet again, Deb & Munro
