  1. I had to ask for our WOW cards on our last cruise. We were the first to check in with this agent and she said she forgot to put them out. She got them and gave us a few.

Also, I asked our room attendant about WOW cards and giving an employee a great review on the survey. She said the review means a lot more. When they receive so many WOW cards, they get their name into a drawing for stuff.

  2. Thanks again for this review, the effort is appreciated. Some of my cruise friends want us to join them on Oasis in '15, but these pictures keep me wanting to go back on Freedom.

Speaking of Mini golf was the course in good shape? That might seem an odd think to ask, but when I was Freedom it was her 100th cruise and she was approaching 2 years old. The ship was wonderful and in great shape with the exception of the minigolf. The course was tore up and the equipment was horrible. On one hole I saw my ball dissapear under some carpet. When I lifted up that carpet the ball fell into a hole and I heard it rattle around downward for several decks. (This is as close to a bad experience I have ever had on RC ;)

We played mini golf last month on Freedom and the course was in good condition.

  3. Hi, We will be sailing on The Independence in late January. We are looking to do Seven Mile Beach on a budget. I know we can take the public bus, but which bus. I looked at the bus schedule once but couldn't figure out which one( we usually always take RCI excursions).

Some in our group may take an excursion that ends at Tiki Beach. Is that a public beach? If so, is the bus stops marked so we know where to get off?

If we take a cab, are there cabs readily available near the beach?

Sorry for all the questions, one of the couples in the group have to know all the answers before they will do this.

    Thanks

  4. Its all a matter of taste. My husband wanted to see Saturday Night Fever - he fell asleep halfway through.

We are with you. We were not impressed. These were the first shows on Royal that we were under impressed with. We stayed and watched the whole show but wished we had done something else. None of our tablemates cared for the shows either.

The theater for both were probably less than half full.

  5. We were just on Jewel, and there was an elderly couple that had rented a motorized cart, and didnt have an accessible room.

The cart was parked in the hall every night. I was a little suprised that was allowed.

The sad part about using electic carts, is they often wait a long time to get an elevator that is empty enough to get the cart on. Some don't care if it's empty, they wheel right in running over feet !

I have a suggestion on future ships, that one elevator on each end is designated W/C, and it takes a seapass card ( which is programmed for handicap) to allow them to call the elevator.

I think that would save grief on all parties involved.

I think that is a great idea. I have a foot that can get very very sore. I take the stairs as much as possible but by the end of the cruise if I have to go up more than 2 decks it just gets too hard. I wouldn't plan on using the HC elevator but I get tired of the people in WC and scooters thinking they have first dibs on the elevator when you have been waiting for awhile and they just arrived.

  6. About 5 years ago on an excursion to Dunns River Falls(RCI excursion), my mil fell on the big speed bump they have. The first aid people at the Falls were there within 2 minutes and examined her thumb which was bent backward. They said it wasn't broken. They also cleaned up the other scratches. The next day on the ship, my mil decided to go to the Medical Facility. They said it might be broken and since this was the last day of the cruise she choose to just wait till she got home to go to the ER. They said they would xray it for free. The Med Center rebandaged her thumb and did not charge a thing. It turned out it was not broken and only hurt for about 3 more days.
