  1. Fueled by sangria and beer, we had a pleasant walk back to the ship along the waterfront.
  2. It is the "dreading" one, by far. We've had a wonderful voyage! Thanks for your kind words. Palma today has been amazing. A deep blue sky, and a pleasant 25c. We've walked every street and placa, and are now having a well deserved sangria and beer.
  3. QE is in Palma de Mallorca Spain today Sunday 24 September. A bright sunny morning start to the last full day of our voyage.
  4. I have only our 2019 voyage to personally compare, but back then PG was as @david,Mississauga indicated. Lots of local fish selections, some crab. I was maybe hoping for "moose wellington" but no. 😀 Most of our local cuisine dining and the freshest salmon was in port restaurants at lunch. @martinmct was on the 2023 QE voyages and kindly posted the actual Frontier specialty dining menu. See post 329 of the Queen Elizabeth location thread. Frontier hadn't been invented yet in 2019. I hope you decide to go, @NE John. Alaska ranks as one of our most favourite Cunard voyages.
  5. Today 23 September is our last sea day aboard QE before a port day in Palma tomorrow and disembarking in Barcelona on Monday. It has been a great voyage for sunrises. I've treasured every morning with a coffee out on deck. Look forward to seeing more photos from everyone's future voyages. 🌞
  6. The Ajaccio skies opened with a thoroughly drenching downpour, lightning and thunder at midday. Thankfully, at the time we were under cover at a local restaurant with a tasty lunch, and several carafes of red wine until conditions eased. I hope other QE passengers weren't caught in the open and had as enjoyable day in Ajaccio as we had.
  7. QE is in Ajaccio Corsica France today 22 September. No sunrise this morning. A rather dark wet day ahead...
  8. Thanks @MrsPeel55! Sunsets or sunrises -- when they are on the water they are beautiful.
  9. Symphony of the Seas towers over QE. But I know which ship I'd rather be on.
  10. Civitavecchia cleared to a pleasant sunny day, thereby continuing our record stretch of nice weather. Having previously been to Rome before and after a QV cruise and on several other business trips, we stayed in Civitavecchia for the day.
  11. QE is in Civitavecchia Italy today 21 September. Arriving at first light. The ship already in port is Symphony of the Seas. There are several storm clouds in the area and today might be our first rainy day of the voyage.
  12. Not quite a sunrise, but I did manage to capture a lightning flash in a storm cloud at first light this morning on QE's arrival to Civitavecchia. Potentially our first rainy day of the voyage. Ajaccio tomorrow has forecast rain also.
  13. Fortunately no eruption today (yet.... there's still a few hours until sailaway). We had a delightful day roaming Naples.
  14. QE is in Naples Italy today 20 September. 21c at first light, top of 30c expected.
  15. No big plans. We usually just walk all day -- exploring the streets, piazzas, castels, palazzos, cathedrals, etc., and stumble on a lunch place somewhere. It usually makes for a great (although unstructured) day.
  16. A somewhat hazy sunrise this morning 19 September in the Mediterranean between Barcelona and Naples.
  17. Yes, thankfully a few more days still to go. We finish in Barcelona on Sunday 25th. Remaining ports are Naples, Civitavecchia, Ajaccio, and Palma. 36 nights all up since San Francisco and it has gone so quickly.
  18. I noticed that QE had the external hardware when we boarded a few weeks ago in San Francisco. And then the below announcement appeared in today's program guide in Barcelona. Adobe Scan 18 Sept 2023.pdf
  19. QM2's Paul O'Laughlin, now retired, was also outstanding. He was also aboard QE for her inaugural 2019 Alaska voyage. Paul was one of several who carried the Cunard Boston cup into Liverpool Cathedral on QM2's 175th anniversary voyage.
  20. A really nice day today in Barcelona. We remembered a few things from our previous visit (gasp - 29 years ago!) but so much felt new. We had a nice tapas late lunch and a lot(!) more sangria than we really should have.
  21. On QE in PG, the menu describes this breakfast item as "brioche french toast", so presumably made from brioche bread. I've had it once on our voyage and thought it was good, although I prefer my typical double short blacks (espresso coffees) and a croissant or two.
  22. QE is in Barcelona today 18 September, at Terminal D. A big turnaround day. Welcome to those boarding later today and safe onward travels for those returning home. We have only one more week aboard but are eager to see Barcelona today 🌞. The last time here was 1994 so I imagine some things have changed.
  23. Our weather has been extraordinarily excellent. We've missed every major storm from Hilary to Lee to Margot, there has never been any more than a passing shower, and seas have been calm. Could not ask for better conditions.
