  1. We only made reservations once and were seated right away. But everyone else was also being seated, too. i saw some people on the first day of the cruise arguing with an Apex employee about their reservations. The Apex person repeatedly said that reservations were not necessary for the MDRs, but never exactly said that they would not be honored.
  2. I do not think reservations were followed on our recent Apex cruises (Transatlantic then Norway). We never waited more than 15 minutes. If one restaurant is backed up, just go to another one. You can order from any menu using the app. The 4 ounce Filet mignon on the children’s menu was my favorite.
  3. The rescue that was mentioned in a previous post happened right outside our window. Seemed to go very smoothly. Picture is guy rappelling down from the helicopter.
  4. I highly recommend Fjord Cruise to Mostraumen in Bergen. The ship was very comfortable and had both inside and outside seating. We got so close to one waterfall that those at the front of the ship got wet from the spray. Tickets can be purchased at the dock and are also offered by Cruise Complete Shore Excursions Group. I did not do a price comparison, sorry.
  5. We never waited more than about 15 minutes to be seated. You can order from any of the MDR menus, including the one for children. The 4 ounce filet mignon was delicious and a perfect size. Consider skipping desert in the dining room and take advantage of the variety at the buffet. Great bread pudding!
  6. We had to cancel our RCL cruise due to a medical problem. Our travel agent says she handled this, but the web site still shows it is an upcoming cruise. I called RCL, and was told that the cruise has NOT been canceled. I was told that only the travel agent can cancel the cruise. I do not know what to do. I am concerned that we will not be able to successfully submit a travel insurance claim unless the cruise is canceled before departure. Any suggestions? I am beyond frustrated.
  7. Do you know if one can buy soft drinks in a port and bring that back to a cabin? I know that is not allowed with alcohol
  8. I need to get my terminology right. We will be in a Grand Suite - Sky Class.
  9. Thank you! I love cruising, but we are skittish travelers. This is very comforting. We will be on. Wonder of the Seas. This will check off a bucket list item for me: cruising on a huge ship and stay in a suite. I think it will spoil us.
  10. Excellent! Will the concierge also hep us with reservations for shows? This will be our first time in a Royal Suite, so need to learn the ropes.
  11. We will fly to Orlando as use RCL’s transfer to Pt Canaveral. By the time we claim our luggage and take the transfer, I think we will arrive 2-3 hours before our assigned boarding time. Will we be allowed to check our luggage and board the ship before our boarding time? I understand that our room may not be ready. We are staying in a Royal Suite.
  12. We will fly into Orlando and use the cruise line’s transfer to the pt Canaveral pier. Any thoughts about how to buy wine before boarding the ship? I am not a connoisseur; access to a grocery store would be effect. Also, does Royal Caribbean allow guests to bring soft drinks on board?
  13. The Panorama Exclusive Tour is not available on May 11, 2023 when Celebrity Apex will be in Geiranger. The Celebrity tour is sold out. Any suggestions for other tour companies that go to Dalsnibba?
  14. Thanks, Hank. I did book a tour offered by the cruise line.
  15. A tour by the cruise line does seem to be the easiest option. Thanks for your input
  16. We enjoy HOHO tours. Just concerned about being in such a large city and getting back on time to the meeting place for transportation to the port. We are skittish travelers.
  17. We are taking a TA in April, 2023 and will have a stop in Le Havre. Neither of us has been to Paris, and this is probably our only opportunity. My initial thought is to use the cruise-sponsored transportation to/from Paris, then take a TukTuk tour of the city. We cannot do a lot of walking. Any thoughts? Or recommendations for a private tour? I know this is not ideal but spending several days is not an option. We are not handicapped but experience pain when walking very long. We need a tour that limits “feet time.” Any guidance will be very much appreciated!
  18. Is internet worth buying on a transatlantic cruise?
