It's a bummer but I'm not sure how much I would have enjoyed myself since it is so windy.

I'm glad I took out cruise insurance that will pay out money if a cruise ship misses a scheduled port.

Sadly Mera didn't make it today because of the winds. We are having a sea day. 

On Mera now, except for some small bumps I've greatly enjoyed my 1st MSC cruise.

That's the problem, I 1st thought the occasional smell was caused by my DH. And the blame up in the air.

We smelled it after coming into the cabin after It was just cleaned.

It's definitely came from 

the bathroom. I'm not smelling it now. 

The smell would have needed to be addressed if it stayed constant like this morning. 

Definitely an awkward situation. Is the CS telling the truth? The DSC is supposed to get divided between the service staff so how much did he expect to receive from you in USD? 

Yes there is a smell. I'm on Mera YC and the septic gassy smell is real. The smell has gotten worse over the week, it's not constant.

This morning it's stinky, We  probably notice it more because we're in the room because it's a sea day.

I read that Divina is going in for Drydock Dec 2020. Any news about this?

My hubs submitted his photo for on line check in but I didn't do mine. We are sailing on the Mera in YC. Will I have to go in a a really long line with thousands of people?

Will do but I'm 99,9 % sure the perk would be included on your paperwork if you have it. 

Thanks all for your responses. My DH decided to buy the 6 gb plan before we sail this month. The 4 gb free perk is not mentioned anywhere on our paperwork. MSC seems to list all your included perks, I decided the CSR was wrong.

I never had the promotion.

MSC webpage states all.YC sailings will receive free 4 gb internet after May 2020. My DH called YC today, CSR claims he will.have this benefit on.our cruise (Mera) this month. 

Any receive this benefit.on a recent cruise?

Thanks for the reply. She wouldn't even use the code from Mera cruise on the Divina. 

I'm going to try again after we get back from our Feb cruise.

My DH & I pay the DSC up front but I always think about removing it and paying the money to the direct service staff. I worry they don't receive it. I have in the past tipped my room steward & waitstaff extra. 

I don't think I should have to pay gratuities for staff I don't interact with. That's the Co responsibility.to pay them a fair wage.

She put me on hold & consulted with her supervisor. I was worried she was going to take it away on my Mera cruise..She said they weren't going to remove it but now I'm worried since this is MSC 🙄.

She said YC was already the best. I explained their was a $17 difference between the plans.

Anyone upgrade in the last few days?

We upgraded our drink package for 17 a day, which then covers all drinks , high end champagne, twenty plus year old scotch, really high end cognac. Not really needed unless you really prefer extremely high end stuff. 

DH & I are in the YC, upgraded since the cost on a 7 day was doable. We wanted to try the high end stuff 😁.

DH & I are sailing Mera this month in YC, our 1st MSC cruise. We have never sailed out of Miami. 

My enthusiasm should be higher. I've read so many negative reviews about MSC so any good will feel fabulous 😁.  

We are sailing Divina next Jan in YC. I'm ok with the long walk to the dining room. Not sure if we will keep the sailing if Mera is a disaster.

My family and I visited AJ's at the beginning of January with Roatan Getaway Tours. This is a small operation, basically a house with animals kept around it. It felt very personal though, we were not rushed at all, took as many pictures as we wanted etc. We first held the sloths, then interacted with parrots, then the monkeys. The handlers all seem to us to care very much about the animals.

 

I hear many others recommend to get to the sloth / monkey places before the tour busses.  I don't see how tour busses could get to this place. It is located in the French Cay area, right next to where we met the boat for the private snorkel tour with Roatan Getaway.

 

AJ's currently has 62 reviews on TripAdvisor with a 5 star average. They also have a Facebook page for more info.

I'm hoping by going with a smaller place I will have more contact time with the animals.
