  1. Currently booked in cabin 6305 on Equinox in September, which is a corner aft sky suite on Deck 6. The location of this cabin looks great, but a Celebrity Suite keeps whispering to me. Looking for opinions or suggestions. I think I have a good cabin and location, but just want to maximize. TIA

  2. We are on the September 7 sailing and Ice never been on the equinox so I'm not worried at all, but I'm sure those certain folks will cry to the high heavens about no revolution. We have only ever been on the Infinity so we aren't bothered at all. I can understand some people with June sailings being a little on edge though.

I predict further outrage with demands that heads roll and free sailings be handed out to everyone already booked plus $1000 onboard credit as compensation for the traumatic experience it’s being.

     My husband just phoned Celebrity.
The rep stated that she had not heard that the ship was being diverted to Spain but more importantly she said that if Celebrity were to cancel the June 8 sailing due to the reasons stated, the cancellation would have been announced already.  🤷‍♀️

Did you post this exact response in the Facebook thread???

I tweeted at them about the word on here (didn't mention CC...just "word from some just off is..."). We'll see if social media gets any attention.

I've posted on the Equinox Facebook page about it... Got tons of responses

Yes my thoughts as well.   We are on the June 8th sailing. I am going to wait and see but I’m prepping for a cancellation.

Prices on the September 7 sailing are very good right now..... It's a 6 day, but I think the rates are very attractive.

It baffles me how they decide which ship will be done when. As many have said, the Equinox still looks great, which I totally agree with. We are going in March and I’m good whether it’s redone or not. The Infinity, on the other hand, is much older than the Equinox yet isn’t getting its refit until late 2020. I have read that it looks very tired. We are sailing in October so I will see then,  but still curious how they come up with their schedule

Was on the Infinity in December for our first ever cruise and the public areas were mostly fine, but it definitely needs some touchup.

The Equinox seems to be one of Celebrity's most popular ships. I can see why if it's working the Caribbean right now they would refit it sooner than later. I will be on for the first time in September, so really looking forward to it.

Just off Equinox and can confirm. The accident with Oasis was at the docks they planned to use for refit and now they instead have to sail to Spain leaving only 2 weeks for refit instead of the planned month. They are drastically reducing their plans for refit and only hitting important stuff first, such as changing Fusion, and converting part of sky lounge to suites. They aren’t sure there will be enough time refit all cabins.

Whoa wait, so they're going to do half the job??? That makes NO sense... We are on in September and hoped everything would be good to go.

thanks so much for the info.  She what I'm understanding is that I can upgrade for 11.80 per day or if I were to buy a $12 cocktail I can just pay $3 extra.

So would drinks like Tom Collins or Singapore sling, or a strawberry daiquiri be included in the classic package?

Here's a drink menu from the Martini Bar in 3 parts. Hope it helps. You'll love Celebrity!

We didn't do it - there were other activities going on at that time, but it did look good! 🙂

That last sea day was VERY Rocky.... With the way the ship was swaying believe it or not the ship was pretty quiet until it calmed down a bit later in the afternoon

We had crab legs on the seafood tower on Edge and had this lunch offered on the Infinity this week in Tuscan:

We had this same offer on the Infinity in December for Tuscan Grill on our final sea day. It was great!

Not everyone likes Blu.  We booked Aqua once because it was a cruise over Easter week and we wanted to avoid what we thought would be loads of children.  Turned out there were less than 30 on the whole ship.

DH and I both missed Eggs Benedict at breakfast.  Also hashed browns.  They served finger link potatoes that were good in the beginning of the cruise but greenish toward the end.

DH still mentions how they put "stuff" on his lobster.  Some kind of sauce.  I liked it, but he wanted drawn butter.

The rain shower was nice, though.

    What does DH stand for???

yes, I have.  I didn't realize Blu is now my dining room.  I thought it was an option only available to Aqua Class guests.  I like getting to know people at large MDR tables in my past cruises.  I guess this will no longer be possible for me.

Just because you have access to Blu,doesn't mean you're restricted from eating anywhere else you please except for Luminae...

I think the water in AQ is more hit and miss.  When I sailed on EQ in March we found 2 fresh bottles of water in the room every day.  In fact, I had only one sailing where it wasn't done and I just stopped at a bar and picked up a bottle on my way to the room (with the drink pkg).

We always took a big bottle of Evian back to the room with us from Blu.

I spent some time earlier today comparing suite costs now compared with what they were when we started booking then with Celebrity and I am now convinced that the current package is slightly better value for money than what we paid pre "Suite Class", despite our currency having been devalued by 20% over the past 2 years against the dollar provided you use the internet and the drinks packages. What we are having difficulty now is spending the obc. It used to get used up on the internet package and upgrading the beverage package but not now.

Last year I ended up with a camera and a new pair of Oakleys I didn't really need to use it up and that was after using some of it as tips for Luminae.

We ended up having to spend our OBC on the last day because we would have lost it if we didnt. That was both a good feeling and a bad feeling! The lady went spent hers in the casino where she actually won a hundred bucks and I grabbed a couple bottles of whiskey to bring back home.

A really good question that I have never seen asked before.  We did a B2B cruise on the Equinox this past December in both a suite and aqua class cabin.  The spa access really didn't mean anything to us, as we rarely use it.  The both have their own restaurants, but the service level, food, and table spacing were superior in Luminae.  Blu was also very nice.  We could easily have done without a butler.  We loved Michaels Lounge.  The 4 perks were also a nice add on for suites.  There are quite a few more suite perks, weather they are worth the extra money is entirely up to you.  We liked it so much that we booked another B2B in a suite on the Infinity for 2020.

    Rollie

Thanks for the feedback. We LOVED Blu for Aquaclass on the Infinity. The MDR always seemed so busy and I appreciated the quiet of Blu. We have already booked a suite on the Equinox for the summer, but me being me is always looking for the best value!

  17. Aquaclass and Suite opinions wanted. We last sailed Aquaclass and decided to try suites on our next sailing. For those who have done both, was the upgrade to suites worth it? Suites don't get the same spa access, so that hurts the value a bit. Feels like suites should have spa privileges as well. Any opinions or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.
