  1. lol; you actually cant get a cabin farther FORWARD than I am!
  2. FWIW I have a LARGE balcony..so for anyone who 2000% doesn’t get seasick;’this may be just the cabin for you.
  3. Got to my room; watched safety video; mustered…chilling in the cabin now watching the original Predator (with Ahnold!) in other news; I tried to buy plus right when I got onboard; but they wouldn’t let me because “the other person in the cabin has to buy it too”; so I have to wait until we officially sail; so she is a “no show” and then I should be able to buy it
  4. Jeeeeeeze! lol I’m standing at the forward elevator door..my cabin is literally WAAY at the end of this hall!
  5. Just got to the port and breezed through check-in (was Green Lane and Platinum too) all they asked is if my wife was coming and I said “hopefully but I truely don’t know”
  6. First stop at the base of the grapevine to charge up. (Tesla) and get some lunch at chipotle.
  7. Please don’t judge my solo experience on princess by this..it’s not solo by choice, let’s just say.
  8. Driving through the good ole’ San Joaquin Valley, down I-5
  9. I know @sonomaphilwill probably do a much better job than I will; but I’d like to offer a different perspective. This will be my first Solo cruise as well as my first Platinum cruise. Definitely not the first Mexican Riviera run…this will be number 9 (live in Central Valley of California, so..we ain’t got much choice here, haha) Originally this was a casino “free” interior cruise; but I bid on a Obstructed Balcony upgrade for $100p/p…but Princess countered with $130p/p for a Deluxe Obstructed Balcony…so I bit..I knew I had a 1/6 chance of getting a “bad” one (aka: in the VERRRY front of the ship)..well…I got a “bad” one..it is what it is..dunno if I get seasick as we’re always midship. I will probably buy the Plus package as I’m going Solo; and since the itinerary is so played out; might not even get off the ship. (A week of not having to cook for myself is great!) I’ll be driving down to LA here in about an hour, with an ETA of 1pm.
  10. I’ll be on the ship too i I tried to start a trip report…but it went off the rails and was deleted lol
  11. The last time I cruised out of San Pedro (first and only time) the port people ALSO flipped out about my 10” fan. I told them to give it to the ship security if it was an issue..when I got onboard I went to ship security and got my fan back; and they said the people in San Pedro are absolute morons.
  12. So far every carnival ship I’ve ever been on since 2016; has had ONE of the “digital” poker tables..I seldomly see anyone playing. (Mostly because the rake is CRAZY high) It’s not always in the casino; sometimes it’s in Heroe’s
  13. It was definitely clue; we remember it from 2016.
  14. Yes; second to last night (night after PV)
  15. I actually meant on the discovery; but I also meant for any OTHER pop-ups that may occur (I forgot the other types; but I know when we went on the…Royal? they had them) really just trying to decide if I want to buy plus…
  16. @kodidogto come back to this. i “won” that counteroffer that princess sent..BUT..so on discovery there are 36 “obstructed deluxe balconies” on deck 8..SIX are doodoo locations (directly under the bridge in the absolute nose of the ship) so I had a 1/6 chance of getting a doodoo location..you guessed it; Emerald103, haha. i mean I GUESS it’s better than an interior (which was “free” on a casino offer)
  17. I just noticed..in the app it says princess plus can get two meals at “pop ups” like Planks & Steamers, BBQ, etc.. if that’s true, anyone know how that works? I always wanted to try those little “pop ups” in the back of the buffet…
  18. Hmm…we always go to Stone Island..but that looks pretty dope too. Especially if it included food and hooch.
  19. I doubt 99% of people who drink beer know what Pliny or Heady Topper is… On that subject, we all prefer to drink the carnival branded brews (thirsty frog and parched pig)
  20. No insurance I looked up the T&C and I don’t see anything about a “single”..but from reading other posts; folks say just do a “no show” and tell them at the port “she’s delayed, we’re not traveling together” and board without her
  21. At the worst; they say no, and I just drive back home.
  22. We both have the same offer; so either one of us could have booked it. Same household.
  23. So the cabin is alresdy all paid for, for both of us (I should I know, I paid for both of us) why would I pay an ADDITIONAL fee?
