  1. Thanks Host Faith for the information on the two beds.

I have another questions for all you Priceline experts. We are going to bid on two rooms but we are arriving into San Juan at different times - one couple early afternoon and the other not until 9:30 pm. If the 9:30 couple bids on the two rooms and the bid is accepted, does that mean the reservations are in their name or does Priceline allow you to put in a different name for each room? If they do not allow this and the reservation is in the late arrival couple's name, will the other couple be able to check in when they arrive in early afternoon - if they have the confirmation number?

Thanks for all the help everyone.

I suspect it depends on the hotel's policy.

I booked 2 rooms last year and I was the first to arrive. I told the desk to allow the others to check in but they had to use their on credit card for incidentals. Worked out ok.

  2. found out this week that my daughter is getting married 12-31-12....in Florida, not here in Michigan...she's already bought a dress and put a down payment on the reception hall...I guess I'll be very busy so please forgive the slowness of keeping this thread accurate.

    Congrats!

Will you also be able to take advantage of the December event? You'll already have a dress for formal night!:D

  3. His license is active and would be so for a couple more years. He seems to be returning to sea by choice long term, not just to keep his license active as with bringing out the FOS and OOS. Once you have been at sea for a career, it is very hard to work ashore. I know this because I am also a licensed master. I have been home two years now and will most likely head back to sea this fall.

According to Adam's recent post of July 3, and contrary to popular opinion, it appears that Bill Wright is indeed returning to sea as a full-time Captain and not merely to maintain his license.

Captain Bill Wright, whom many of you know from his time as Master of Freedom of the Seas and then Oasis of the Seas during their respective debuts, has concluded his exemplary service as Senior VP, Marine Operations and will return to the fleet as a full time Captain later this year. Some of us think he heard our marketing message “The Sea Is Calling…Answer it Royally” and took it more literally than the rest of us. But it will be to the benefit of many guests and crew to have Captain Bill back on the water full time.

  4. I was told that they're sold out. But I'll bet the folks who got the "free" hotel didn't get the cruise as cheap as this. So it evens out. I was able to get a hotel booked for 70 euros, anyway, so I'm not that upset.

    Worked out ok. What hotel?

Maybe you can get transfers? I'd talk to HD or at least GSM on the first leg. You can't get if you don't ask.

  5. I might be doing something crazy. The Mariner of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas both have amazing rates for a single for the back2back 7/14 and 7/22 sailings. I would need to overnight in Civitavecchia but a hotel is about $100 w/breakfast. With the Diamond+ balcony discount and the $275. credit I received the 2 cruises will be about. $1225. or $612.50 per 7 night cruise which would be awesome for a balcony as the insides are going for more money. The airfare is disgusting but I'd pay the same airfare if they charged the regular fare for the cruise, so I'm still saving a lot. Plus the itineraries are really nice.

You should be able to get a free hotel night for this b2b!

  6. Beth,

Our cruise left out of Barcelona and finished in Venice, so unfortunately I can not help you with Mallorca :(

    Sorry

Oooops - I forgot that they have a few one way trips on GR. Actually, things are changing and I may not get to PMI (this time) after all.

I'm still glad the revitalization was as expected and not just hype.

  7. We just had a super time on the Grandeur (first cruise out of its revitalization). Fernando Cataldo is the new Diamond Concierge (in the brand-spankin new Diamond Lounge). This is a copy of the e-mail I sent him thanking him for all the great service. If any of you have the chance to cruise with Fernando (repeat or first time) I know you will be treated "Royally".

    -Matt

    Matt,

This is great to hear since I'm in the middle of booking GR for Aug 19.

I've wanted to take a revitalized Vision-class ship since I saw the videos of SR last fall and GR fits into my schedule.

I don't think I know anybody who's been to PMI, so I've got lots of questions. Did you stay there before and/or after the cruise? Where?

I'd appreciate whatever advice you can point me to, but I'll also contact Fernando and Raj.

  8. You're getting me confused again!!!:eek::(:confused:

Someone posted just today on the CD thread and said their captain is Lis.

Captain Lis just started last month.......and now she is off and Captain Felix is back aboard. I hope that all is well with her.....and am hoping that she will be with us next year on our TA on the Vision!:)

    Rick

  9. All that I know is not to even believe my DW, and be a third party reporter. When Bobbie was talking to Captain Rob, somehow Captain Sindre's name came up, and she assumed that Rob was taking his place.

Sorry for the screw up....wolf, enjoy the martini!!:D

    Rick

    Rick,

So, what you're really saying is that it's not just Gina and I who are confused! I can't speak for Gina, but I sure feel better!

Dare we ask Bobbie if/when Capt Rob will return to FR?

  10. After queiring Bobbie tonight, she told me that both the Hotel Director and Captain Rob told her........after she said that she would like to do an Alaskan cruise with me, and who would be his reliever be.........they both said, Captain Rick

This in on the RH...........Rhopsody, not to be confused with any other ship in the fleet.......no matter what it sounds like........it's a Vision Class ship, starting with the letter R, and the only pictures that I have from her.......are on the Rhapsody.

    What is the confusion????:)

Gina.........where did I mention the RD? All of this is happening on the RH (Rhapsody)!

    Rick

    Rick,

I'm the one who thought you were talking about RD , not Gina. I guess the confusion came from Capt Rob on RH talking to Bobbie about RD. Mentioning Capt Sindre leaving sure made it sound like they were on RD.

Then again, maybe it's just my post-SR jetlag.

  11. so you think he may only be filling in? If he's been on for 6 weeks already, then he'll be ending his rotation in 4 weeks

My hunch - and it's only a hunch - is that he'll be there longer than this rotation.

You made me realize there's another way to look at this - if he was on vacation for only a few weeks, and then on RH for 6 weeks already, he should be due back at FR very soon, if, in fact, it was intended for him to go back to FR at all.:eek:

  12. Beth was the one who told me Capt Rob was on Rhapsody, she could have gotten her R's mixed up. I'll have to check with her.

Well, she didn't get her R's mixed up.

Heard from Capt Rob. He said "Yes, they asked me to come to RH 6 weeks ago on short notice after I had only been home a few weeks on vacation. I am not sure how long they will need me here."

I guess I should stop watching the deals. Flying to Seattle is alot more money than driving to PCN only to find that there is a different Capt onboard!

  13. Beth will have the correct answer, but my gut tells me Hawaii.

Gina, what Captain Rob told my DW is that Captain Sindre is off, and his reliever is Captain Rick Sullivan. This is coming, second hand, as it comes from my DW, whom you know!:D

    I look for more news!

    Rick

You guys are getting me all confused. I was away for a month on SR and I'm totally lost re changes in Captains. Is Rob supposed to be on RH (Karen) or RD (Rick)???

  14. No need to contact him because of misinformation...I think your response says it all...;) Thanks and best wishes to Capt. Bjorn.

Of course you're right, but methinks Karen wants an excuse to contact him!

So, if you have any questions about one of my favorite captains....

  15. Steve, wouldn't Victor also be the Concierge for D+ and PC Members? I'm curious because usually the email address doesn't include "Suites" in the title.

    Patti,

I think this is just some more of the handwriting on the wall. I am convinced that when all the ships (or maybe even most of them) have been revitalized and have 2 lounges, the current "CL" will become a Suite Lounge with admission only by gold card.

Setting up a new email with the Suite designation puts one little thing in place for the future.

    JMHO. Time will tell.
