We were on the Pride last week, and the Steward asked if we wanted robes, extra pillows, etc.

Pillows, yes speaking of pillows, how are they?

Oh God no, you will not find anything in Miami under $100 that you would be safe in and Miami has some pretty sketchy and dangerous areas.

I would go on Hotwire and book a downtown hotel.  It's a safe area, plenty of things to walk to, lots of dining, and a short trip to the port and from the airport.

Good to know, what should we expect to pay in mid April (2020) for a hotel room. We definitely want to be in a safe area.

  3. Thanks, I will check out the board and hotels suggested, I don't travel much but when I do it's to Columbus Ohio, Phoenix and once to Oceanside CA on memorial weekend and I've always found rooms under 100 unless something is going on that weekend to cause the rates to jump.

  4. Where's a good place to stay in Miami? We will fly into MIA and then cruising out of Miami as well. We're just looking for a place to lay our head and maybe some type of breakfast in the morning. We've never been to Miami so don't know what area's to avoid and what I have been finding is 200+ a night for just a red roof inn.

I am unsure if Carnival has the same menu fleet wide. If you download the Carnival Hub App, you will be able to view all of the menus and activities for the week once you are on board and connected to their wifi.

Good to know! I have the HUB app but wasn't sure what all it provides once on board besides texting your travel companions. That will help us decide where we want to eat each day.

Almost like a mushroom with lots of butter and garlic is the best way i can describe it.

Hmmm, I'm not much for seafood (except Lobster 😂) and I hate mushrooms so I guess I shouldn't bother trying it. I have always wanted to but I'd hate to waste it.

I was just thinking, if they only allow price matching from their own site why does the form ask "Where was this fare and the website"?

I think because for the 1st 48 hours they will price match anyone......just a guess as to why.

Tracey, I wouldn't fret over the dolphin excursion since your cruise is so far away.  I've noticed changes in excursions being offered on our upcoming sailing that was booked last year.  Some were recently added that weren't there before - not sure if any were taken away.  I imagine that the cruise line is always looking at their vendors & updating the contracts they have with them.

Thank you, I will try not to. I like my ducks in a row and everything booked/scheduled so it might be easier said than done. 😂

Not necessarily.  Some just call in to the 1 800 number and book with a CSR (or whatever their job title is).  I don't know what the deciding factors are for being assigned a PVP automatically, but for whatever reason(s), some repeat Carnival cruisers seem to  have never been assigned one at all.

I just booked our 1st cruise and it's with a PVP, strange there's no extra perks or something that come with booking with one over a CSR.

  10. I was wondering the same thing. Also we looked up the excursions for our ports, dolphin swim was a must, now that we're booked the dolphin swim excursion we want isn't on our list of options, we sail April 2020, 1 port has no options at all, is it possible it will be added later and that it's just to early?

It's possible that it was a group fare.  How did you book?  Do you have a PVP that could help you with this?

No, it  looked like I could just book it the same you would on Carnival site. I'm going to email my PVP and include a screenshot from the TA site and see what she says.

They will not match to anything that you have to have a membership to obtain (think a certain big box store).  They will also not match OBC or other "perks" offered by TAs.  If you find a lower cruise fare, they will match it, otherwise.

The kicker here is that Carnival will not permit the "discounting" of cruise fares by travel agents.

This was from a cruise site but not a membership one (don't think I'm allowed to say the name here) and I was only asking for the cabin rate adjustment. Unsure if perks were offered as well with the TA site as I was only looking at the price.

  13. I was under the impression that if I found a lower price for same date, ship, cabin etc anywhere they would match it, even if it was a TA site. However when I tried yesterday they said no. I just wanted to confirm that they were correct not to price match as the girl seemed uncertain.

  14. We're going on Carnival, don't we have to by the internet package to use the HUB and my understanding is that only 1 device can be contacted at a time to the wifi per stateroom since even if all occupants buy a package.

If you want a ribeye and a lobster, I believe the upcharge is $20 for each additional entree in the steakhouse. I'm sure some one will also wnat that in our group of 12 going next Saturday so I'll try to remember to report back.

This is what I am wanting to do, ribeye and lobster as I hate filet mignon, but was hoping to avoid an upcharge.
