  1. We are doing a B2B with Venice in the middle of that. We spent a lot of time in Venice a few years ago so we aren’t anxious to see it again. On this trip, we would like to see the outer islands, so now we’re scrambling to find a way to do that without the bus ride from Chioggia.
  2. Another possibility is to get on your roll call and arrange to share transportation.

  4. We received the same email today. The email states that if needed you can arrange for a Viking transfer from Venice to Chioggia. I believe this can be done through MVJ.
  5. If I have a 220v appliance, is it possible it won't work?
  6. Also, to Viking’s credit, we had totally forgotten about the thing until it showed up in our cabin neatly wrapped on the morning we were (sadly) leaving the ship.
  7. I agree with all you have said and as usual, thank you for your insight. According to the list, “curling irons” are acceptable. There are different kinds and types of curling irons. I have been in touch with Viking reps and tellus and have 6 different answers. So my question really is, has anyone had the experience of having the types of curling irons mentioned above being taken away at boarding. If that is the case, I would bring whatever is acceptable to Viking, but I can’t get a straight answer out of Viking, so I asked.the question here.
  8. That is indeed correct. We never would have expected to be able to use this on the ship.
  9. In fairness to CILCIANRQTS’ it’s possible that the poster doesn’t understand that a BaByliss Miracurl is a curling iron and that the Dyson Airwrap is also a curling device — albeit, not your normal curling iron. So my question is, has anyone had these items confiscated when boarding?
  10. Haha! Nope. You probably misunderstood my OP. 🙄
  11. Thanks for that. Our carry-ons have always been searched. We once had a European multiple socket surge protector in my husband’s carry-on that was taken away and returned to our cabin the morning of disembarkation. We expected this and we had it with us because we were touring before we joined the cruise.
  12. Thanks. I’m hoping for more “no”s. But I do recall there were some confiscations in the past. Possibly Viking’s policies have been updated to at least include appliances that have an automatic turn-off feature.
  13. I’m just wondering if anyone has had any hair appliances taken away until disembarkation — flat iron, BaByliss Miracurl, Dyson Airwrap, etc.? Any input would be helpful. Thanks.
  14. Yes, we booked The World Cruise in October 2021 and cancelled it in August of this year.
  15. We recently canceled the 2024 World Cruise. We had the vouchers applied to a Med cruise we are taking in May which we booked in September 2021. Our TA arranged this for us. We were also able to insure the vouchers with a 3rd party.
  16. A waiter will come up and take your order on deck 8. It might be a bit slower depending on how busy it is on deck 7.
  17. What is the Viking Royale? Following your travels with great interest. Thanks much.
  18. Powderhorn, another option is tugo.com. They will cover our vouchers, which are about half the cost of our trip In May. It’s a Canadian company with offices in Vancouver and Montreal.
  19. It’s a very personal choice. We enjoy dry red wine and we have found that the included wines at lunch and dinner aren’t dry enough for us. I also like mojitos, particularly after an excursion, and DH likes beer. We often spend evenings in the Explorers Lounge and occasionally in Torshavn. For us, the SSP is worth the price. Our next trip is a Trans Atlantic so we probably won’t purchase the SSP until we board so we can use up some OBC.
  20. That is an excellent point regarding veteran Viking cruisers. I recall our first Viking cruise several years ago. We were anxious about both restaurant and excursion bookings when our window opened…..never to be repeated!! It was a total waste of time and, at that time, very early morning energy. We also like the World Cafe. It’s nice to just wander in whenever you want and not have to stick to a previously scheduled reservation. It’s just more relaxing that way and it’s also a very friendly environment.
  21. We’re the same. We might do Chefs Table once, Manfredis twice and we usually cancel the rest. We enjoy dinner on the Aquavit, especially during sailaway, and then depending on what we have going on the the next day, we like to spend the evening in the Explorers Lounge.
  22. TayanaLorna is a regular and very helpful member on this board. You might just want to start a thread “TayanaLorna can you help me find…….” I think that might get her attention and a response. 😊
