  1. On Marina Heidseck blue top was in my cabin six days ago. Now it's in the refrigerator in my cabin.
  2. She is doing trivia, but I'm not. I suspect you are correct. She is a slim, long-haired blond who wore an all-pink outfit the other day and appeared offended by the many people who told her she looked like Barbie. (She is not Margo Robbie)
  3. The Fjords today have been magnificent, the poor internet service prevents me from posting any pictures, just screen shots. Passing Desolation Island now. We'll be heading to Red Ginger for dinner soon. Punta Arenas in the morning.
  4. Fortunately, he is not on Marina now. The CD is Sammie, a young lady who has mispronounced every port city in South America we have been too. It's actually impressive considering how little effort it would take to get the pronunciations right. I look forward to her mangling of Montevideo in a couple of weeks.
  5. I've been on Marina since last Wednesday on a 20-day cruise and have eaten dinner in Red Ginger, Tuscana, and Polo Grill in the last 6 evenings. Only Polo Grill was pre-booked. Extra specialty dining reservations do not affect the pre-booked reservations. They are in addition to, not in lieu of, the pre-booked reservations. Tonight will be my second time in Red Ginger on this cruise. I am reasonably certain it will not be my last unless I choose not to seek another reservation.
  6. Last night's dinner in Polo was good, although my wife's steak came to the table rare, she ordered medium. Mine was just past medium, but close enough. We exited the Fjords and went into the Pacific during dinner. It got a bit bumpy for those with balance issues. Back into the Fjords at 2:30 am this morning. Scenic cruising today if the fog lifts, Red Ginger again tonight and Punta Arenas tomorrow. Some coughing has been heard around the ship, but not worrisome, yet.
  7. We are currently back in the Chilean Fjords. It's very foggy but seems to be lifting as we proceed. The Captain said we would be cruising through them until this evening, then out into the Pacific until 2:00am, hopefully we get some good views. i just got a call on my room phone from Frank Del Rio, he must have misdialed. (not kidding).
  8. Oh, it's an assortment of grumblings, walking around with a grimace like they just saw a beloved dog run over, an overheard whine about something or a curtness towards crew or other passengers. Just negative people that seem to complain as a default setting.
  9. Not to worry, while I like to share joy, I won't accept other people's misery. They can marinate in it on their own.
  10. And sadly, those folks seem to want to share their misery. I don't get it, but my response to them (most of the time) is a big smile and a happy greeting.
  11. Another observation after five days, there are many lovely people on board, but I am most impressed with the ability of some of my fellow passengers to be miserable human beings while cruising. If you can be as unhappy and unpleasant on a cruise as they appear to be, you can probably be unhappy anywhere.
  12. Red Ginger and Toscana, we have Polo Grill tonight, that was scheduled. So far on this cruise the specialties have been easy to get into, and these extras were both for parties of six, not shared, with our traveling companions.
  13. Dinner has been at 6:30, I think the 6:00 is for the smaller ships on shorter itineraries to accommodate more people in the specialty restaurants. This is a 20-day cruise, now on day 5 and we've already had two "extra" specialty restaurant dinners. Marina is in the Pacific this morning, it's a bit rocky but we should be ducking into the Chilean fjords sometime today (unless there is an unannounced change).
  14. This morning, we sailed into Laguna San Rafael. Going to see the glaciers up close this afternoon. Working on a doubleshot cappachino, then just enjoying the views.
  15. I'm posting this from Marina, you are correct. NOTHING has changed about the service on Marina. I won't comment on Vista because I don't know, and I wish others would stop repeating things they don't have firsthand knowledge of. I don't know if people are just repeating incorrect "info" they've heard third hand or are just making stuff up.
  16. On the Marina right now, lunch Thursday at Waves and the Surf and Turf is Warm Water lobster and Filet, unchanged from my previous experiences.
  17. How odd, I must have imagined the spa on Sirena last year.
  18. The Marina is heading into Puerto Chacabuco this morning, an overcast day but the fjords leading into the port are lovely. Dinner last night was in the Grand dining room, only because we couldn't find a table at the Terrace. Anyone who says the food quality has slipped on Oceania is experiencing something I am not. No difference between pre-covid and post covid that I can discern.
  19. I haven't seen him but a staff member strongly implied he was. If he is, he is keeping a low profile.
  20. We’ll be in Puerto Montt today. Doing an Oceania tour, those Simply More credits aren’t going to spend themselves.
  21. So far we have not had any wildlife sightings, nor have there been any FDR sightings. The sun has come out in the last hour as we sail south to our first stop, Puerto Montt, Chile, making just over 16 knots on calm seas.
