Care to expand on this wonderful experience. Specifically where, and how did they work they excursion. Trying to decide where to go and with whom. Thanks much.

We need you on our next cruise! Snarkers of the world unite!

It must be delivered in an upper crust voice. Think about the announcer on 'yacht rock'. 🤣

We have bumped into the entitled and pretentious types that regularly show up on this board, but rarely. It gives us a laugh and story. We have met plenty of charming people that we can't wait to sail with again. Hope that helps. You'll have a great time if you want to have a great time. A favorite story: On a recent trip to the Falklands a birder was ranting at one of the expedition crew - "where's the Cobb, I was promised a Cobb". It is a line we continue to use with guffaws when we're not getting what we want or something is not being delivered swiftly.

And once you find your favorite bartender, they are often happy to create concoctions or speciality drinks. One came up with a watermelon ginger delight we nicknamed a Whaletail ( after a whale that had just surfaced, not the tattoo). Fresh coconut martini, and papaya passion to name a few that come to mind. Have fun and ask. 😃

Wine We usually spend a bit of time the first few days asking what else they are pouring till we find something drinkable. Its tough work but someone has to roll up their sleves and get the job done. Then take a pic to show future waiters. Not a fan of hot rocks but when we do go we ask the kitchen to cook it for us. Desert is rarely what the menu suggests. We're still laughing over what was supposed to be éclairs. Some weird pink concoction. 🤣 Hope that helps a bit.

Anyone tried bringing a spotting scope on Nova?
highplanesdrifters replied to palebluedot's topic in Silversea
@palebluedot I sometimes see folks with spoting scopes on expedition ships. However I question whether the areas the Nova goes in Alaska will be close enough to wildlife that would warrant hauling that much equipment. Depends on your itinerary. A glacier or two maybe. You might check out Apex Expeditions. They often do mini charters (25 people) on Silversea Expedition ships. Birders galore. Peter Harrison is a wealth of knowledge and happy to share it. Let us know what you uncover. -

Penguin poo, good guess. Or Fulmar vomit. That trip was in the South Pacific and Kimberlys which only made matters worse. Heat and humidity are not my friend. For me in the Tropics sometimes it's a 3 shower day.😅 I also agree on the F&B. Speaking from an expedition ship standpoint, I find the Silversea menu in general to be much more interesting than Seabourn. Although Seabourn is trying a little harder. The duds can be avoided. Also agree on pricing lately, crikey! Do they have gold toilets or something like that on SS Endeavor? -

Vodka and body odor. A lovely combo. He started drinking at breakfast. Or perhaps never stopped while awake. Thank goodness there was no Paco Rabanne cover up.😅 -

We had a similar problem on Explorer....except it was a smelly passenger. By the end of the trip there was rarely anyone seated near him. The waiters nicknamed him the Oligarch. Oh the stories about that one.😂 I miss the Explorer.
